Avatar f tn Im on hour 36 of my heroin withdrawal and i was going to take a smaller doseage or morphine sulfate maybe 30 mgs but i need to know if it will restart my withdrawal symptoms or not?
Avatar n tn Heroin is a semisynthetic opiate that by virtue of its metabolism to morphine produces a positive result on standard EIA tests. Morphine is then further metabolized to morphine-3-glucuronide and morphine-6-glucuronide before excretion (primarily via the kidneys). However, prior to its metabolism to morphine and subsequent glucuronidation, heroin is rapidly metabolized to 6-MAM.
654183 tn?1225309036 My husband is addicted to Morphine. I have never done any type of drug and I really don't know what to do to help. Every time I think I know what is going on I find out something else he has lied about. At first it was just taking the pills, then it was crushing the pills. Now I'm finding needles and spoons everywhere. He claims that he gets the pills down to liquid form and puts them in the needle and squirts it in his mouth. I just don't believe him anymore.
Avatar m tn ) and hyper flexia. Then sent me to get an MRI. She was hinting around about my Morphine usage, as I had blood work done prior to seeing her, and she didn't comment on it. Last Friday, I had an MRI no contrast, on my brain and spinal with no abnormal signs. I know this the routine. My Mother has MS with a DX. She went through the exact same issues until the lesions got bad enough to show on an MRI. Which was around 5 years after her first MRI. So, that is a little background.
Avatar f tn I have taken fentanyl several times for kidney stones and always in the hospital. What I know about it is, it is 100 x's more powerful than morphine. how much were you taking and for how long? What I know from my own experience with pain meds, and this is long time heavy usage, is that everyone's symptoms subside at different times, its very hard to judge when you will feel better. Me personally, with hospital detox and 2 weeks of treatment, I still had problems after the 2 weeks.
Avatar f tn do your research on the xanax. it can be hell on earth if you let that drug get away from you. i don't say that to scare you...only to warn you that it is usually not intended for daily usage as you would use a preventative. i suppose it's like if you had a sore leg from doing a lot of work during the day. you probably wouldn't want to take morphine for it. on the other hand, if you broke your leg and the bone was sticking out...you'd want morphine.
Avatar f tn there certainly are other meds out there, both narcotic and non-narcotic for pain issues. IF they were to increase your morphine,my guess is they would gradually do this. Express to your doctor your concerns...I too used to be on MS Contin-hated it (made me mean). The purpose of pain pills is to not alleviate your pain 100%-docotrs prefer that your pain actually be at abput a 4-5 out of 10 when taking the meds. I would definately talk with your doctor about your fears and your goals.
Avatar m tn 45PM. I have been given 60 MG morphine sulfate and 8 MG hydromorphone. I am starting to hurt through my chest and legs and hands. I am starting to have some sweats. My question is: are these pains part of cold turkey from the Subsys or new symptoms of the new meds I have been given? Lastly, how long does the fentanyl last in my system?
Avatar f tn Hey everyone! I just joined & have a few questions. I am 38 yrs old & have been in pain management for 10+ yrs now due to a MVA. I recently started to have trouble with my liver (no hep c) anyway I currently take morphine 30mg 3 times a day & 30 mg MSIR 3 times a day or as needed.
608001 tn?1220385902 Withdrawal from morphine causes nausea, tearing, yawning, chills, and sweating lasting up to three days. Morphine crosses the placental barrier, and babies born to morphine-using mothers go through withdrawal. Morphine activates the brain’s reward systems. The promise of reward is very intense, causing the individual to crave the drug and to focus his or her activities around taking morphine.
Avatar f tn She was prescribed 15 mg MST (Morphine Slow Release) tabs and guess who ended up taking them? Me. She is a very strong woman and didnt want any pain meds. The ammount I was taking increased rapidley and the Dr cottoned on and stopped providing. Anyhow I found one pharmacy that gave them out like candy - no script and I have been taking between 100mg to 180mg per day for about three months now.
Avatar m tn As far as I'm aware, this medication is fine unless you have very low blood pressure. It's very similar to morphine and good for pain control. The main issue with this medication is mixing with Alcohol, that's a definite no no, very dangerous. It can be addictive with long term usage, but I'm sure after surgery the dosage will be reduced and stopped altogether over a relatively short period of time.
Avatar f tn With my 1st born I got an epidural and I was looking into different pain relief options for this pregnancy. Any of you got morphine instead of an epidural and how was your experience?
Avatar n tn Hi yes it is normal behavior for Morphine, when you first start it your on top of the world then comes irritation and depression and even nightmares for some. How much is he on? How long? and dose he want to quit?
525732 tn?1213046071 Well, first of all i know what i would tell your husband. Who cares what he wants or doesn't like. Look at the mess you are in. Sounds like you need to go and speak with a doctor and explain that you want to get off the morphine. Don't forget to tell him about this husband also who is obviously causing you alot of anxiety.
Avatar m tn I pretty much thought it had something to do with the morphine. Any advice? He needs it for his back. My view is morphine is probably better than any other of the narcotic analgesics because it is the most natural and has been around for centuries. I certainly would not want him on oxycontin or fentanyl. Is Opana ER any better? Need advice from doctor preferably or someone who has an idea what they are talking about regarding this matter.
Avatar m tn I am going to go cold turkey on tuesday from 100mg morphine, been on them about 6 to 8 weeks. feeling sick when I dont take them and not able to take off time for detox and types for detox?
784419 tn?1236261756 After running the gamut of pain medications in an effort to find some relief from the constant, chronic pain I endure from spondylolisthesis, I've been prescribed morphine tablets at 10 mgs per tab. I'm still getting no relief from the pain. Should I ask my GP for a higher dosage?
Avatar f tn Morphine must be okay for the liver because that's what they used when I was in the ICU following my liver transplant. Be VERY careful with morphine. I was on it for 7 days and went wacky with hallucinations of all kinds.
Avatar f tn my friend dissolved morphine tablets in hot water then injected it into her vein is this going to hurt her?
Avatar n tn The morphine is actually much less problematic than the oxycodone. You should be comfortable taking the morphine and not the oxy.................
Avatar n tn iam on anti depressents floxetine & amytriptlijne then tramadol & 80 mg of morphine a day do you think i would be ok to get a job
Avatar f tn Second - is this a short acting (SA) or is it a long acting (LA) Morphine? 60mgs of Morphine is one heck of a one time dose. I would not take it. There could be serious complications, especially if you your system is opiate naive. Don't take it.
