My pain management doctor scared the crap out of me when he gave me narcon in case I overdose. I want to take 60mg of morphine to see if it will work but I am so scared. Also, when I do not take the morphine on time I start going through withdrawal. Please help in pain and scared also, I recently tried herion which did nothing but keep me up all night.
Although 12 hrs have passed,but still clinical examination from a doctor is mandatory to rule out any morphine overdose. Morphine overdose occurs when a person intentionally or accidentally takes too much of the medicine.

If you google kadian it will give you drug information and included in that info is what to do in the event of an overdose and what things to look for to determine if it is indeed an overdose. Don't mess around here - and call 911 if he doesn't look right. Now is not the time to second guess the situation.

I have someone close to me that was just just in the hospital and was put on fentanyl, only in the hospital though. I have heard how strong this is and was wondering how bad that would be for an addict, even if it was just one day? I don't know about these drugs much and was wondering how safe it is? I have read it's 80 times more stronger than morphine and that seems crazy.

She was given morphine a burn unit at children's hospital the nurse gave her a Qe yr olds dose. She's 23 now and has had drug problems with pain killers as a teen she just kept doing outlandish things for a rush and even has asked herself why she keeps doing things even tho it gets her in trouble.

we told them why he was having them but they gave it to him anyway with out his or our permission....they had to give him 3 shots of morphine at the hospital to get him calmed down he was in so much pain....is there any long term side effects that might come up because of this....if there is a site to go to please send me the site....one other question...could this have killed or hurt him seriously.....

I would say its more likely he would need to go to the hospital for APAP toxicity than hydrocodone overdose. APAP (tylenol) is mixed with the hydrocodone and is not good for the liver in high doses.
Just tell him not to go crazy and make sure he doesn't mix with alcohol or other drugs (besides weed), and he should remain alive. Might end up with a wicked addiction though!
My neurosurgeon said that a person can develop tolerance with long-term use of a pump because the amount of morphine would have to increase as the pain increases, just like it does with oral pain meds. Has anyone had this experience? What did you or your doctor do?
Question 2 WITHDRAWAL My same neurosurgeon said that if the pump broke releasing the morphine inside, a person would go into severe witihdrawal. Has this happened to anyone? I would think that overdose would be more likely...

I had pain meds and my baby came out fine he was alert and there's no risk of overdose for the baby. And the pain med didn't go in my iv they gave me a shot in my hip. It took the edge off but I still felt everything. I opted not to have an epidural didn't want to have a needle in my spine as well heard a lot of horror stories from women that had them.
