Avatar n tn Aspirin, alcohol (in cough compounds and pediatric elixers), morphine, codeine, dextromethorphan (“DM” in cough compounds), nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents, procaine, opiates (codeine, Demerol, morphine), thiamine, high molecular weight polymers (dextran). Medicines, topical: Topical antibiotics containing polymyxin B. Medicines sometimes used with general anesthesia: D-tubocurarine, scopolamine, decamethonium, resperpine.
Avatar f tn I think oxycontin has a higher molecular weight and therefore harder time crossing the mom baby barrier. Heard two moms taking 40 mg three times a day had no withdrawals, but didnt know it would be the same for the morphine or not. I am taking 15 mg twice a day of oxcycontin and 40 mg of oxycodone. I appreciate the kind words, they mean a lot when your suffering.
373367 tn?1246402035 He calls this molecular mimicry and says that this happens to people predisposed to having MS. I knew that the body attacked itself, but didn't reallize it was because it saw the myelin as a section of a bacteria/virus. I know a lot of you have had EBV and might find this interesting. OR, maybe I was the only one who hadn't put it all together--lol!
653169 tn?1303446369 hi Shanna, as you know the morphine has a long history of causing these jerks/twitches, I also have them with oxycontin, I will try more magnesium also!!
525732 tn?1213046071 What can I do to change medication to please my husband. HE HATES my insomnia and rapid weight loss along with my changing habits. I have extreme mood swings and can't do the things I use to do. He doesn't understand what pain I am going through and can't quite accept things. I am waiting on surgery because my insurance and my surguon cancelled my surgery 12 hours before I went to the hospital.
Avatar n tn I had my 2nd FNA two weeks ago after my first one came back with hurthle cells and suspicious.  They sent my 2nd biopsy for molecular testing and my results came back as suspicious again. So I'm meeting with an endo surgeon next week. If both biopsies were suspicious AND the molecular testing was suspicious I'm assuming it means if my nodule isn't cancer now that it will be in the future. Is this a correct assessment?
Avatar n tn The morphine is actually much less problematic than the oxycodone. You should be comfortable taking the morphine and not the oxy.................
Avatar n tn No prospective randomized trials including an untreated control group confirming the benefit of low molecular weight heparin in preventing pregnancy loss in thrombophilic women have been performed. However, the concordant results of the studies cited above suggest that anticoagulation may improve pregnancy outcome in thrombophilic women.
Avatar m tn 12 pmol/L = 0.93 ng/dL = 0.00093 µg/dL due to molecular weight T4: 777 ==> leads to different conversion factors for different types of measures. You are right about the TRAS, thyroid receptor antibodies. Again, thanks for your reply. Much appreciated.
Avatar m tn You should be considering medications (probably metformin) and also losing weight if you are overweight, increasing activity / exercise levels and eating a lower carb diet to help get this under control.
Avatar f tn Thanks ladies. Sara, I'm thinking the tiredness is from the morphine. I started the patch first and I didn't have any side effects from it (initially anyway.) When they switched out the oxycodone and gave me the morphine is when I started with headaches and being REALLY tired. The morphine does an okay job at BT pain, but not any better than the oxycodone, really.
Avatar n tn Would test thyroid levels to see if the dose is appropriate but if the levels are fine, would need to evaluate for tumor recurrence or a gastro-intestinal cause for weight loss. The other endocrine problem that causes weight loss is adrenal insufficiency - testing cortisol may be appropriate in this setting.
3112530 tn?1434032033 I have got to understand why after about 8 hours, the 'itches' kick in. It is extremely annoying. I take Benedil for the 'itches' and it seems to stop them sometimes. Can anyone tell me what causes the 'itches' and what is the best effect to counteract this? My morphine is only 15mg and I try t take it every 12 hours but when the "itches" kick in, (usually about 8 hours later), I take another and it seems to stop.
Avatar m tn my father have 76 years of age now with a bp 220/150 and globally hypokinetic lv with severe dystolic lv dysfunction now treating with low molecular weight heparin. what is your comment please mail to *****************@ gmail.
Avatar n tn Other meds include Coumadin, Lipitor, Coreg, Aspirin, 7.5mg Morphine and 20mg Cymbalta (for post herpetic neuralgia) - currently tapering off the morphine. She still has a 20% ejection rate, the same as when the pacer was placed. It seems that the significant breathing difficulty started after the latest hospitalization (I’m guessing that the fluid replacement contributed.) Are there any other surgical options available, or even meds? Would the use of an oxygen tank help?
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm an RN and I can tell you that heparin and levonox are basically the exact same thing. They are often used interchangeably in hospitals. The major difference in the molecular weight. Otherwise they do the exact same thing. However, you shouldn't be taking heparin and aspirin 325 at the same time, it might thin out your blood to a dangerous degree. You usually have to do an INR to monitor the blood clotting ability and to ensure that your blood isn't too thin.
Avatar f tn t give me any new prescriptions even though I had lost weight. He had told me the month before if I was losing weight he would give it me but when I lost 8 lbs thats when he came up with the drug test taken 6 months before that only showed my morphine. When I saw my Dr when she came back I ask her to give me a new test to prove was taking all meds, the morphine, Hydrocodone and the oxycodone.
Avatar f tn Methadone absolutely has made me gain weight and I do days of total fasting, with no loss. I take methadone for cripling back pain. Will switching to opana allow me to lose the weight I've put on and help back pain, which the methadone was taking more and more with less relief?
541953 tn?1262586226 It is reallly bothersome. I am on morphine, doctor ordered and have been for the past 4 years. I am irrated and red from washing myself so much, that is the only way to get myself clean, toliet paper does nothing. any suggestions? is this a form of IBS? I am miserable and need help.
Avatar m tn However, one study failed to find any difference between high molecular weight and low molecular weight beta-glucan for normalizing cholesterol and blood sugar levels.34 Safety Issues Beta-glucan, as a substance widely present in foods, is thought to have a high margin of safety. However, if it really does activate the immune system, harmful effects are at least theoretically possible in people with conditions where the immune system is overactive.
Avatar n tn He is 1 year old and is allergic to soy, dairy, wheat, oatmeal and several other foods that did not test positive with an allergy test. He is under weight because of this. He is also seeing a speech therapist because he isn't progessing at the rate he should be with speech (this could be completely unrelated). I refuse to believe that my nephew is allergic to everything that he barely has enough nutrious choices. Any information, suggestions, specialists would be greatly appreciated.
