Heroin is a semisynthetic opiate that by virtue of its metabolism to morphine produces a positive result on standard EIA tests. Morphine is then further metabolized to morphine-3-glucuronide and morphine-6-glucuronide before excretion (primarily via the kidneys). However, prior to its metabolism to morphine and subsequent glucuronidation, heroin is rapidly metabolized to 6-MAM.

I am sorry to hear about your previous reaction to Morphine. Are you experiencing any reaction or similar side effects with the long acting Morphine (Kadian)? As Dmoonchild said Kadian IS Morphine. There are several brand names for MS (Morphine Sulfate)..... but in the end they are all basically the same or similar chemical structure.
In my early 20s after my first c-section it was discovered that I am allergic to morphine atleast as it was delivered by the pump/drip after surgery. I got NO relief from the pain at all and after the nurse turned it up for the third time, my breathing started shutting down leaving me clinging to the edge of the bed desperate to get a deep breath in.

Codeine is actually converted through liver metabolism into morphine, which is the active drug. If you respond well to codeine then morphine is also a possibility to consider, especially the MS-Contin (Morphine Sulphate, Continuous Release - a slowl release pill).
im quitting a 60mg/day roxi habit. thursday:15mg and two 7.5 tabs, friday-15mg morphine, saturday-nothing,sunday-nothing....hasn't been as bad as i expected but still no fun.will i start feeling better tomorrow and i have noooo energy and have a precious 6yr old i wanna put up christmas decorations with.when will i get some energy????thanx bunches.

You are experiencing symptoms of opioid withdrawal -- one of which is hyper (high) algesia (feeling of pain). Hyperalgesia means you're experience increased pain for no apparent reason, other than opiate withdrawal.

I weight the same in my 40's as I did in my mid teens, most of the time. I normally weigh about 180 and am pretty fit, but months of mania in India lead to extreme situations that landed me at 130 pounds. I am trying to see if my appetite changes and then my mood, or if my mood affects my appetite.
