889551 tn?1416184483 She goes back in on the 13th, so if she still isn't taking to her inhaler by then ill see about the nebulizer. I had to hold her down to get her to breathe it this morning. She didn't get mad until the second puff. Im afraid it would be the same with a nebulizer, she just wants to eat the mask.
Avatar f tn most of the time, people use disposable nebulizer setups, these are to be use for two weeks and then thrown away and then use the back up set up for the next two weeks, going thru 2 setups per month, this should keep down bacteria in the nebulizer cup itself.
Avatar n tn got mucus wich is stuck in throat i do take ventolin inhaler once a day wat can i take or do to take out mucus i feel uncomfartable wat medicine can i take and wat exersize can i do
Avatar f tn In the United States an albuterol nebulizer requires a prescription. Pharmacists will refuse to provide one even if they see you dying on the floor. These should be made non-prescription. Wall-mart has the best prices, but you much purchase in-store.
Avatar n tn Xopenx 1.25 mg and Ipratropium Bromide 0.02%.
Avatar n tn check ebay you can get all kinds of medical supplies, we got a nebulizer off there for my sons asthma
1154802 tn?1266485720 If by inhaler you mean the dose measured albuterol, I would say use albuterol in a nebulizer instead. The reason I prefer the nebulizer is that you can use as little as you need since it is not measured. I have a small portable nebulizer (slightly bigger than a cell phone) which I take everywhere with me. As far as effictiveness is concerned, albuterol is albuterol no matter how you take it. I got off the inhaled steroids because they were killing me (literally).
Avatar n tn no, hydrocodone is vicodin. Morphine sulfate is the active ingredient in morphine. If you are worried about a possible reaction to the medication, I would speak to your local pharmacists. I'm not sure if hydrocodone and morphine are in the same family of drugs. I know vicodin and percocet are in a similar family (due to codine), but morphine is much different. refer to this website. http://www.rxlist.com/duramorph-drug.
Avatar f tn ve been told) it is caused from inhaler/med use, but did not go away while on the nebulizer and Nystatin. White count slightly elevated and rechecking in a few weeks, but white count ratios are all WNL. Cannot take him off his meds or his asthma is out of control. Am getting desperate for a concrete answer (which no one will commit to), and have an adolescent who is "so done with all this"! I need some advice PLEASE!!!
Avatar f tn I cough a lot anymore to the point I can hardly breath. I am on inhalers, steroids, antibiotics and a nebulizer. The nebulizer helps most of all back can only take it 4 times a day. Should I be worried?
Avatar f tn Phill, the nebulizer just delivers the albuterol in a better form, doesn't it? It's still albuterol? If your doc knows you're on that, it sounds like it would probably be safe to take. Do you have an after hours nurse you could call to confirm that? If you can't get your breathing under control and you feel like you can't catch your breath it's an emergency situation - you can always go to the ER and they will treat you right away. Best wishes with it.
237039 tn?1264258057 I have been given Morphine in the hospitals during my heart attacks, and most recently was given Morphine quite frequently. I was told last April, the reason they were giving me Morphine at short intervals is because it "oxygenates" the heart. As long as I had the chest pains they were administering the Morphine at 30 minute intervals. I protested the frequent use, but was told it was for that reason I was being given that much.
Avatar m tn It is an Omron MicroAir Nebulizer and costs $200, or a little less. It is very small and fits in the cell phone slot in my purse (although it is slightly larger). Also it is completely silent. It operates on batteries. I use lithiums because they last for weeks.
Avatar n tn Is the only way I am to get through this with Advair and my nebulizer. I have no colored mucus, maybe a very slight phlegm but mainly a deep wheezing in my chest. No constant cough unless the asthma reaction gets triggered, than I am heavy wheezing and coughing to get air. I am otherwise healthy, go to the gym just about every day. I hope you can provide some new advise. Thank you so very much!
Avatar m tn It is very likely that the original bout of pneumonia resulted in a colonization of bacteria in the sinus area. An MRI will sometimes pick these infections up, but they probably won't take one. I would look for a specialist in sinus infections. Prednisone eliminates the immune response controling the bacterial infection and it goes out of control. Yes, I know they usually give both prednisone and an antibiotic.
Avatar f tn My OB is perfectly fine with me using my nebulizer and inhaler, but always ask your OB. If you can't breathe, neither can your baby.
726605 tn?1231368596 Do you take these on a daily basis. Medrol is hardcore. What does your doctor say about medrol during pregnancy. I assume you mean albuterol in the nebulizer. I've taken that during pregnancy...but that's when my asthma's been out of control. Sound like the meds you are taking are "short-term". Those aren't anything you would take on a regular basis for controlling asthma. In any event...
Avatar n tn I have a question about normal saline for inhalation (as in a nebulizer). I was surprised today to find out that I needed a prescription for this! Why is that? Has it always been the case?
Avatar n tn m a 25 year old male and I was diagnosed with asthma since I was 3. I probably got the worst of it because I lived in a very old, musty/moldy house and my parents smoked around me for over 10 years. Anyway, my questionn is, do most asthmatics need nebulizer machines? I own one at home and seem to use at least once a month, and sometimes even once a day during weather changes or severe bronchitis.
Avatar n tn The answer is complicated. The reason for giving these medications sequentially, is that they have different effects. By giving one med before the other the optimal medicinal performance is obtained with a minimum of medication. There is a difference of opinion regarding this issue. My brain is foggy, but that is how it was explained to me a long time ago by a very knowledgable R.N. Ocassionally there are side effects, and mixing the drugs does not hold well for figuring out the problem.
Avatar f tn Yup. You can save it. The plastic containers it comes in should be secured in an upright position where dust won't settle on them. The thing is that bacterial grows in the aerosolizer and it should be rinsed. If you leave fluid inside you can give yourself a lung infection. Try putting in a small amount and adding a bit of normal saline. There are many philosophies, but one protocol suggests albuterol should be used first and ipratropium five minutes later.
Avatar m tn My question is, is there any general method to synthesis an inhalation solution, mine would be strictly vitamin and herbal based and targeted to help treat asthmatic sypmtoms, the solution would be used in a nebulizer, and would it be safe to use a vit/herb liquid solution to breath in?
Avatar f tn I spent the next 3 months going through Albuterol inhalers and albuterol in my nebulizer. And also then Budesonide in my nebulizer. Nothing helped. I was having near-death experiences trying to get to the nebulizer to open up my air passages. I finally called my pharmacy to find out why I did not get my advair and it turned out that I could still get it and my price was the same as always with my medicare. After just one day I was immediately on the mend.
