237039 tn?1264258057 The oxygenated effect may be due to the dilation of blood vessels and better circulation of blood/oxygen. also the beneficial effect of morphine in patients with pulmonary edema as in CHF is, also, unequivocal. The danger or risk associated with a heart attack may be the result of decreased blood pressure and a slow down in the heart rate and that could add negative factors to an already stressed heart under some circumstances.
Avatar n tn I have never heard of a urine test positive for heroin. Heroin converts into morphine in the body. Can you get a copy of the actual test results?
Avatar n tn He should have breath test, or maybe better blood test for Helycobacter pylori bacteria in his stomach. This is really frequent cause of this stomach burning. Treatment is with antibiotics. Upper endoscopy (gastroscopy) is the only thing which would show what exactly is in his stomach. If ultrasound is negative, that doesn't mean much, since it isn't pretty accurate. So - he has to be checked for H. pylori.
Avatar f tn Hospice nurse felt very weak pulse in foot as well. Any suggestions as to what this might be? Blood clot, stroke, no circulation to left side? Also, left arm is tingling and cannot use arm to lift herself from chair.
Avatar f tn E by abulance because i was in so much pain and counld not stop being sick, they took blood test to make sure it was nothing life threating and gave me some morphine and sent me home the same night once pain killers had worn off i had to go back to A&E and the repeated the same as before.
Avatar n tn X-ray pictures are taken to show blood flowing through the blood vessels in the lungs. If a blood clot is found, your doctor may use the catheter to extract it or deliver medicine to dissolve it.
Avatar f tn In June is my last test, (protocol every 3 months up to 1 year, blood tests to test for the virus). I live in Pocatello, Idaho now and thanks to a wonderful doctor, who I respect trememdously,/ DR. CHARLES EVANS, I AM CURED. dR. EVANS IS THE BEST GASTROENTEROLOGIST, I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED.... AND HE HAS CURED ME. if YOU ARE FINANCIALLY UNABLE TO AFFORD, DR. EVANS HAD A PROGRAM WHICH PAID FOR MY SOLVALDI AND RIBOVIRIN. iT COST ME NOTHING....PLEASE HAVE FAITH AND I WILL PRAY FOR YOU.
Avatar n tn I am not sure what the circumstances are that surround your situation, but I do know that strokes are caused by a blood clot or a brain bleed. My mom just had 2 strokes and they actually gave her a morphine pump for her head because it hurt so bad. I do not think they would have done that if there was a chance it would cause more strokes. Keep doing your research though, I guess you never know!
437077 tn?1263600028 I seen on a tmj specialist site metal taste in mouth so I am really pointing in that direction. I am in braces but I am trying to get therapy now for the annoying ringing sounds in my ears and the ear pain, I can't wait so I am finding someone now that can help me fix this problem..
611606 tn?1315517767 Well I had the dye test, the results were awful in many ways. the worse news is that the line from the pump to my spine disconnected from the spine, so the morphine is not going anywhere except into a pool beside the spine. The Dr. said that my body is absorbing it, but that's why I have been needing more oral morphine to address the bone pain. I have decide to have the pump removed rather than reconnect it.
Avatar n tn iam on anti depressents floxetine & amytriptlijne then tramadol & 80 mg of morphine a day do you think i would be ok to get a job
Avatar m tn The blood can indicate stomach damage or even a nasty condition called esophogeal varicies, in which blood vessels in the throat rupture and you quickly bleed to death. This could easily be fatal, even if it happened in a shock/trauma unit.
Avatar n tn I have been on chronic pain medication for about 8 yrs now, specifically extended release morphine sulfate 60 mg 2X daily. I take my Morphine religiously at 4am and 4pm, have blood work monthly. I just went into my doctor and was discharged from the clinic because my blood work showed NO Morphine in my system, this is the second time that this happened the last time about 3 yrs ago.
Avatar n tn no, hydrocodone is vicodin. Morphine sulfate is the active ingredient in morphine. If you are worried about a possible reaction to the medication, I would speak to your local pharmacists. I'm not sure if hydrocodone and morphine are in the same family of drugs. I know vicodin and percocet are in a similar family (due to codine), but morphine is much different. refer to this website. http://www.rxlist.com/duramorph-drug.
Avatar n tn The cancer itself may sometimes cause blood to increase in thickness or viscosity, leading to a predisposition to produce thrombi. Cancer can also metastasize and occlude blood vessels supplying the brain. Some chemotherapy drugs may also accelerate atherosclerosis and also predispose to occlusive stroke. Before concluding that a cancer patient's slurred speech and difficulty in balance are the result of stroke, certain conditions have to be ruled out first.
Avatar f tn I would start by saying that even if the numbers are low that they need to be taken into context in the overall health of your grandmother. These numbers would be very worrisome in someone in their 30's with no other health problems but with someone in their late 80's with multiple other medical problems these numbers might just reflect her overall health but not be indicative of any one problem (at least nothing that I can relate them to).
Avatar f tn 12 panel but they dont test for vicodin (hydrocodone) they test for oxycodone and opiates that are metabolized into morphine in the body, such as oxycontin, dilaudid, heroin and of course morphine. According to the pharmacist hydrocodone isnt considered dangerous enough to be tested for. I asked her 'do they live in a bubble or something??
Avatar f tn They gave me morphine because of pain and blood loss (really rough labor with my first), they didn't however test to see if I was allergic, having never needed it before... I spent my entire labor in horrible pain, blacking out and throwing up. I barely remember anything, when I finally came around and was fully alert family crowded in room around my baby and we never got that quiet happy new family moment... it was horrible. I say this to warn you not scare you.
Avatar n tn so guys should i ask my doctor to do a blood test for morphine to see if it metabolized from vicoden to morphine?
Avatar f tn either way there isnt thc in my system any longer nor was it there in all the other test he gave me, so am sure that one can be taken care of..though technically, when I prove that I have been taking my morphine that test in itself and all, will and should be considered null n void, for if one part is wrong how is it that others may be as well? Thanks again, have a great weekend!

Avatar f tn Do Oxy and Codeine show up the same in a drug test? I have one in a few days and I have a prescription for Tylenol 3 & 4 but I have been taking oxycontin. Thank you for your help!
Avatar m tn had the test where I had to swallow 50 markers, then go for an Xray 3 days later, this shown all 50 markers still around my Large Bowel, after this I had a test where I had to eat mashed potato and beans, then have a breath test for.8 hours, which also shown that my small Bowel has very slow transit too.
Avatar f tn This means my pcp works for them. She does not have a private practice. Although she knows I am in severe pain my test came back negative when I was having to take a lot of pain meds around the clock due to having 9 teeth surgically removed. Normally I take morphine e r every 12 hrs and hydrocodone as needed for bleed through pain. When I had my teeth removed I was taking my morphine, oxcodone, and hydrocodone . My dentist prescribed the oxycodone to take every 4 hrs.
