Avatar n tn Hi yes it is normal behavior for Morphine, when you first start it your on top of the world then comes irritation and depression and even nightmares for some. How much is he on? How long? and dose he want to quit?
Avatar m tn I pretty much thought it had something to do with the morphine. Any advice? He needs it for his back. My view is morphine is probably better than any other of the narcotic analgesics because it is the most natural and has been around for centuries. I certainly would not want him on oxycontin or fentanyl. Is Opana ER any better? Need advice from doctor preferably or someone who has an idea what they are talking about regarding this matter.
Avatar f tn I was so nervous the first labour that I hyerventalated! That gave me morphine to help me relax & sleep between contractions. In the end it's like any hard workout, once it's over the pain just becomes a little uncomfortable, not sever. Everyone worries :-) best of luck!

Avatar f tn With my 1st born I got an epidural and I was looking into different pain relief options for this pregnancy. Any of you got morphine instead of an epidural and how was your experience?
525732 tn?1213046071 Well, first of all i know what i would tell your husband. Who cares what he wants or doesn't like. Look at the mess you are in. Sounds like you need to go and speak with a doctor and explain that you want to get off the morphine. Don't forget to tell him about this husband also who is obviously causing you alot of anxiety.
654183 tn?1225309036 My husband is addicted to Morphine. I have never done any type of drug and I really don't know what to do to help. Every time I think I know what is going on I find out something else he has lied about. At first it was just taking the pills, then it was crushing the pills. Now I'm finding needles and spoons everywhere. He claims that he gets the pills down to liquid form and puts them in the needle and squirts it in his mouth. I just don't believe him anymore.
Avatar m tn I am going to go cold turkey on tuesday from 100mg morphine, been on them about 6 to 8 weeks. feeling sick when I dont take them and not able to take off time for detox and types for detox?
784419 tn?1236261756 After running the gamut of pain medications in an effort to find some relief from the constant, chronic pain I endure from spondylolisthesis, I've been prescribed morphine tablets at 10 mgs per tab. I'm still getting no relief from the pain. Should I ask my GP for a higher dosage?
Avatar f tn Morphine must be okay for the liver because that's what they used when I was in the ICU following my liver transplant. Be VERY careful with morphine. I was on it for 7 days and went wacky with hallucinations of all kinds.
Avatar f tn my friend dissolved morphine tablets in hot water then injected it into her vein is this going to hurt her?
Avatar n tn The morphine is actually much less problematic than the oxycodone. You should be comfortable taking the morphine and not the oxy.................
Avatar n tn iam on anti depressents floxetine & amytriptlijne then tramadol & 80 mg of morphine a day do you think i would be ok to get a job
Avatar f tn Second - is this a short acting (SA) or is it a long acting (LA) Morphine? 60mgs of Morphine is one heck of a one time dose. I would not take it. There could be serious complications, especially if you your system is opiate naive. Don't take it.
Avatar m tn , Infumorph® 10 or 25 mg/mL) are not recommended for IV, IM, or sub-Q administration of individual doses of the drug because of the large amount of morphine sulfate contained in each ampul (200 mg/20 mL, 500 mg/20 mL) and the attendant risk of substantial overdosage. it not a matter of whether you are an addict or not you put something in your body without knowing how much was safe . Is there someone with you .I think you should be fine .
614471 tn?1221179194 hi there, im currently taking 90mg of morphine sulphate twice a day....so thats 180mg per 24 hours, and i was wondering if anyone knows what the equivalent is in heroin. ive just come off fentanyl patches onto the morphine so i can taper down, my aunt who died was addicted to heroin so i know a bit about it so i just wanted to know the equivalent so i can understand roughly how much morphine im taking. thank you to anyone that can help. kind regards, carrie.
Avatar f tn I have been an opiate addict for over 20 years now, off,on etc... this last time I have been on methadone for 3 years. I tapered from 118mg to 20mg in the past year. No problem.Am considering suboxone. Heres where the confusion comes in. My Dr. put me on morphine sulphate to swith to the sub instead of switching from the meth. I have already cut down what I was told to take on the morphine and am only having VERY MILD wd's. Im on day 6.
Avatar f tn I've been on Morphine Sulphate ER 60mg 3xday for about 18 months for a chronic pain condition (RSD). Boy, do I wish I had never started it or that my doctor would have warned me how hard withdrawals could be. I had no idea. I gradually went from 1 every 8 hours to 1 every 9 to 1 every 10, etc until I'm now on 1 every 12, but it took 6 weeks to get this far. Now my dr. only gave me 90 30mgs and I've tried taking 3/day and am having horrible withdrawals...

Avatar f tn I had my meds stolen so my doc had to switch me im told to take the morphine 1 time at bed time its done nothing! how much would i take to get the same effect as percocet? I dont want to kill myself!
Avatar f tn Sorry to her of your relapse. A good many of us have pain and have found things that do work for us to control it to a point that it is manageable. If the pain pills help you and you are not abusing them, then they are good for that. But if you continue to take more than prescribed, then they will never work correctly for you so you will need to search for something that DOES help. Do you have a pain mngt doctor to speak with? If so, that is a great start.
1808595 tn?1316359530 They're not going to give you morphine in the hospital!!! If you go to an inpatient detox, they'll give you things to help ease withdrawals and they'll monitor your blood pressure and make sure you're hydrated, but no one is going to give you IV narcotics or narcotics in pill form. It doesn't solve the problem. You need to decide what you're going to do and make a plan. YOu can go inpatient to detox; you can go CT at home, or you can taper at home.
