Avatar f tn Hi, I've not got a diagnosis for my pain, however it is concurrent with symptoms for osteoarthritis. As I've been suffering with pain in my knees, hips, lower back and knuckles for 12 years now I'm not holding out on a diagnosis anytime soon, more so because I know how much the medical comminity seem to despise diagnosing osteoarthritis in anyone below 50, I'm 30 so another 20 years to go before acknowledgement of OA will be given!
1459410 tn?1285695005 I have taken ibuprofen for weeks at a time in the past for the osteoarthritis in my jaws. I try to take it sparingly for it now. But I get frequent heartburn and was recently put on cytotec generic, which is supposed to help with stomach lining. I have tried acupuncture, which I thought helped some, herbal heat pack, ice, valium, ibuprofen and wear a flat-planed splint for my jaw osteoarthritis.
Avatar n tn I've been in severe pain for 15 years, and it keeps getting worse. My doctor put me on Hydrocodone 10/660 about 10 years ago, and it has worked wonders and kept my pain level down to a 2 (scale 1-10). Now, I'm told she can't prescribe it for me anymore, and has cut me back to 10-335. I feel like I've gone backwards in time. I'm back to soaking me feet in ice water, and coating my feet with Capazation, just for a little bit of temporary relief.
Avatar f tn First of all-I am sorry for your suffering. Second of all-you have come to the right place for support. Please look up the Thomas Recipe in the health pages it really helps. It sounds like your dosage was pretty steady and not that high-I just detoxed off of 100 mg of oxycontin a day + 10-30 mg of dialaudid for breakthrough that I had been prescribed for multiple chronic illness and pain issues. It's been two weeks for me and it's been rough but I feel better every day.
Avatar n tn If you have osteoarthritis then have acupuncture for pain relief
Avatar m tn I have pain in the right knee for two years now. X-rays show lack of fluid in the knee. Thus giving lot of pain. I have tried all sorts of therapies, but to no effect. I am now thinking of either get a shot or replace the knees. The left knee is also on the brink. I have to use pain killers. Please advise about taking a shot if I should take a shot of Synvisc-One. This discussion is related to Changing from Supartz to Synvisc-One shots.
Avatar f tn I have Osteoarthritis and it is getting worse. I taken Celebrex, Norco, Tramadol and Vicopren. None of these are working. I don't have insurance and go to a public health clinic. They don't seem to know what to do. Could you please advise me on what I can take that will help with the chronic pain and will be inexpensive.
513154 tn?1340225289 I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!
Avatar m tn t think that is what you are looking for. What symptoms are you experiencing now? What treatment has the doctor prescribed? What area of your body is effected?

Avatar f tn I've had mri's of my spine and shows osteoarthritis with bone spurs in cervical thoracic and lumbar. This was done in 2007 (i was 35), now i have this horrible tendonitis in both wrists and i'm on prednisone. Could this be related to the arthritis? i'm seeing an ortho but he doesn't know about the osteoarthritis (i was just rereading my reports and it jumped out at me). What should i expect with this diagnosis?
199177 tn?1490498534 Nutritional Supplements There is solid evidence indicating that glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate are effective for knee osteoarthritis. These natural compounds were found to decrease pain and increase mobility of the knee and were well tolerated and safe. Other dietary supplements, such as fish oils, also show some evidence of benefit, although more research is needed. Herbal Remedies It has been difficult to draw conclusions about the effectiveness of herbs.
Avatar f tn Hi cat...I want to share a link with you re: Metacam. This med is an NSAID...which can be risky for kitties; very hard on their kidneys. You want to use it as LITTLE as possible. I would take your girl back to the vet to test her renal function, as itching can be a sign of a problem (please google for side effects). http://healthypets.mercola.com/sites/healthypets/archive/2013/05/01/meloxicam-dangers.aspx There is more to this article, however, this is the part that concerns me...
Avatar f tn Hi like you I use Allupurinol to reduce my gout level but last few months have had severe pain in hands shoulders and wrists now using morphine patches for pain relief they cant make their mind up whats wrong with me first its oesteoarthritis now inflamatory now having test for ms
Avatar f tn I was recently perscribed morphine for my fibromyalgia and spurs on my spine. My question is does the morphine make you really nauseated and throw up. The last few days the side effects have slowed down, but I would still like to hear some suggestions from people in the forum.
Avatar m tn You need to tell your doctor what is up. Any good doctor will be willing to work with different medications to see what works best for you and not automatically assume you are just wanting pain meds so you can get high. If your doctor is not willing to work with you keep looking until you find one that will. You may be opioid tolerant and that could be why the Avanzia is not working for you. I myself can not take oxy's.
Avatar m tn s care but my dog is having bladder stones and he is very much unconfortable all night I have to take him downstairs to pee and all the vet has told me is to wait for the results of urine test to beggin treatment meanwhile he gave him Rimadyl for the Hip pain and also some Phenobarbitol for anxiety, but he still cries all the time, I am desperate !
Avatar m tn I was on Suboxone for two years, off for 3 months with opiates, and now on again for a month. The itching started small after a few weeks on Sub But now I scratch everywhere there is hair and just below my knees , my back arms, and high on my butt. Don't know for sure if the drug is the cause or maybe it would have happened anyway as these skin problems can attack anyone. I itch until the skin breaks and stings. Scabs form.
1052851 tn?1307741160 My doctor has me on Fiorinal C1/2 for migraines, and put me on Morphine for severe migraines and severe pain. I have often had to go to the hospital for the migraines, and they give me a shot of what I thought was Morphine in the butt, and after about 1/2 hr it was gone. This last experience, the Morphine did not work, and I ended up taking a bunch of Fiorinal instead. When I spoke to my local hospital, they said they dont give Morphine for migraines but Demerol?
Avatar f tn Has referred me to a pain specialist, I see him this month. Any advise or even input on exactly what he does or the best way for me to deal with him.
