Avatar f tn Death is not often a pleasant experience, especially death from lung cancer. There is nothing to blame yourself for. Your husband's death was inevitable, and chances are that no medication could have reduced his suffering at the end. Please forget your guilt and move on into your grieving. Again, I am sorry for your loss, but from what you report, there is nothing else you could have done. Be in peace.
Avatar f tn I HAVE A VERY CLOSE FRIEND THAT IS DYING OF LUNG CANCER. HE IS 75 YRS.OLD. I HAVE LEARNED TONIGHT THAT HE IS BACK IN THE HOSPITAL WITH PNEUMONIA. THEY HAVE HAD TO PUT HIM IN DIAPERS AS HE CAN NOT CONTROL HIS BOWELS. AS OF TODAY HE HAS QUIT EATING,DRINKING. HE HAS BEEN HEARING HIS LATE WIFE'S VOICE AND SHE HAS BEEN DEAD FOR 2 YRS..WHAT I WANT TO KNOW IS ABOUT HOW MUCH LONGER CAN HE SURVIVE LIKE THIS?
194555 tn?1264286923 He is 69 and had a heart attack just over 2 years ago, think he had stem cell surgery, anyway last year he was diagnosed with terminally ill lung cancer, there is nothing they can do for this as it is attached to the heart and the lung :(.
Avatar n tn 1 cm spiculated lesion in the right lower lobe abutting the right hemidiaphragm. The morphology of the lesion is suspicious for primary lung carcinoma". This is what it is in a report. We went to see a doctor and he gave us 3 options: 1.wait and observe, 2. biopsy, 3. remove it. We decided to have a biopsy done. I am trying to be positive but I am not coping with this well. Could it be something from the surgery(liver transplant, 2 recent hernia surgeries) like scar tissue or fluid?
612551 tn?1450022175 I am unaware of any screening, however, for lung cancer other than the general Q/A for symptoms in general. I am an ex-smoker, stopped about 25 years ago, and have determined of late that my home has radon levels above the recommended maximum of 4.0 pc, may basement is in fact about 12 pc. All of this plus my age makes me think it would be reasonable to seek general screening to see if there are any signs of lung cancer.
Avatar m tn i am a little scared could it be lung cancer?no cough or nething of that sort.i am just worried about lung cancer etc.could anyone please shed some light on the symptoms and my condition?
974725 tn?1248733652 I have confirmation of your comment. This is advanced Lung Cancer. We had mom in the hospital since friday and she forced the doctors to release her yesterday , I know that this is becaus all 7 of her children are here, together for the 1st time in 15 years and she did not want to spend the time in the hospital. We got confirmation of a "massive" tumor that is not allowing the lung to re-inflate and as they drain the fluid it does return, approx.
Avatar f tn I don't know about lung cancer, but I see posts from time to time about some universal cure. It seems to me that biomimicry would also have a chance to gain the status of a universal remedy if research on its effects on the body is developed. I don't want to get into conspiracy theories, but I've been hearing cancer cure announcements for 20 years, and our treatment approaches haven't changed. Take at least this remedy https://www.fenbendazole.org/.
Avatar f tn Could this be thyroid cancer that metastisized to lung or lung cancer that met to the thyroid or just 2 primary cancers. Dr.s are a little stumped. I was seen at Uof Penn They said lung surgery first then deal with thyroid.
Avatar n tn Another thing that greatly helps being considered for a lung transplant, is having a very good doctor, that helps push for the possible transplant. Mother had an excellent pulmonary specialist, that helped my Mother, get her foot in the door, of being seen by the transplant team. I wish with all my heart, that my answers were what you wanted and needed to hear. Once again, you are a wonderful person, to want to do this for your Aunt.

Avatar f tn However, adrenal involvement is commonplace for lung cancer and some centers would not evaluate further. If the size of the lung involvement is amenable to surgery then this would raise some doubt that the disease may not yet be metastatic. An imaging study like an MRI could raise further doubts and a biopsy of the adrenal could be done to make sure it is not really stage 4.
Avatar n tn You can begin by searching pub med for the association of silica exposure and lung cancer. There are numerous components to "coal dust." Many of the scientific/medical journals will not have "free" access to the full text of the articles. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/ I hope this is a start for you. ~•~ Dr. Parks This answer is not intended as and does not substitute for medical advice. 4461995 tn?1357955108 I just found out this morning that a dear friend was just diagnosed with Lung Cancer that has metastasized to her brain. She just found out and it is Stage 4. She has started radiation but doesn't know about chemo yet. Does anyone have any words of advice for me as to the best way to be supportive? I live in NJ, she is in CA and I am going to go out there to stay with her for a while soon. She is single.
Avatar n tn Increased density in a chest xray usually presents with white, or increased whiteness of the lung fields. This may suggest lung disease, not necessarily cancer and may need to be evaluated further. Ideally, x-ray results are compared from any previous chest x-rays to help monitor any changes in the lung. A repeat x-ray after a few weeks will help determine any changes. Hope this helps. Take care and hope all is well. Do keep us posted and best regards.
Avatar n tn Hi. Whatever type of lung cancer your mother has (whether small cell or non small cell variety), she is in an advanced stage because of the brain metastases (was this documented by CT scan?) and what I assume to be metastases to lymph nodes behind the ears (post-auricular nodes). The primary treatment for brain metastases coming from the lungs is still radiotherapy.

Avatar m tn t even know if it is oral or genital. Can HSV-1 affect lungs considering the history of TB? Is it lung cancer? I am getting scared when I read about the link between TB and lung cancer and to make that worse I have HSV-1 on top of that. I read somewhere that HSV-1 affects lungs for immunocompromised people like who have HIV. Do the people who were treated for TB come under immunocompromised categoty? If my immune system is so weak then why didn't HSV-1 show any symptoms to me?
Avatar f tn This nodule can be a form of early-stage cancer. If your doctor is suggesting for the operation you must go for it. As your doc can suggest you the best for your life as per his experience. If you're still confused then you can go for the second opinion. That will be a great help, sometimes it is better to get a second opinion in case you're not sure. But I'll suggest you, go with your gut feeling.
1511858 tn?1290477459 My grandmother had lymphoma and my grandfather died of lung cancer....just trying to keep my sanity while I wait for results....sometimes not knowing can be worse then having the facts....
