Avatar n tn I had a treadmill stress echo test last month and just saw the report. Although at the end of the report it says this is a normal stress echocardiogram, in the findings it said indication: Dyspnea. I've read online what dyspnea means and i see that it's shortness of breath. I did not experience that while i was walking on the treadmill and I don't remember if they had the oxygen monitoring device on my finger during the test. How do they measure dyspnea during an echo?
Avatar f tn The first step should be for you and your doctor to request consultation with a lung specialist (Pulmonologist) to determine with reasonable certainty that the primary cause of your shortness of breath is the paralyzed left hemi-diaphragm.
Avatar n tn Sounds like possible exercised induce asthma or cardiac issues. You should difinitely consult your doctor for a work up and evaluation. Take care.
Avatar n tn Also he did have asthma growing up but has out grown it for the most part. Also wanted to mention that he has had lower jaw pain that sometimes lock for almost 1 year as well. Would like to know what is a possible diagnosis?

Avatar m tn Hi, Unilateral diaphragmatic paralysis is often discovered incidentally in patients undergoing chest radiography for some other reason. Patients usually are asymptomatic at rest but experience dyspnea on exertion and have a decrease in exercise performance. This may result from an acquired dysfunction of the phrenic nerve. The progression of dyspnea is caused by a decline in lung volumes, i.e. vital capacity (VC) and forced expiratory volume in one second (FEV1).
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to the forum, it is important to rule out respiratory system dyspnea (breathlessness) from cardiovascular dyspnea. Or else you may have more than one problem contributing to the breathing discomfort. The most common causes of dyspnea are asthma, COPD, interstitial lung disease, and cardiomyopathy, valvular disorders, pericardial diseases, anemia etc. You need to undergo pulmonary function tests like spirometry, chest radiograph and ECG to rule out the cause.
Avatar m tn Mucolytics will help to clear the sputum and bronchodilators will relieve the dyspnea. Meantime other causes of the dyspnea should be ruled out. I suggest you to consult physician. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn I was recently perscribed morphine for my fibromyalgia and spurs on my spine. My question is does the morphine make you really nauseated and throw up. The last few days the side effects have slowed down, but I would still like to hear some suggestions from people in the forum.
Avatar m tn Patients with unilateral diaphragm paralysis underwent an evaluation that included a chest radiograph, fluoroscopic sniff test, pulmonary spirometry, and the Medical Research Council (MRC) dyspnea score. Patients with symptomatic unilateral diaphragm paralysis present for at least 6 months were offered video-assisted thoracoscopic diaphragm plication.
Avatar f tn I have been getting chest pain and shortness of breath for 6 months now. I was in hospital in february for 1 week due to this. The first few days i was in the pain was that bad i had to have morphine. The pain and shortness of breath is mainly on exertion and the dr suggested angina and am on many tablets. I am slowly getting worse and can only walk 200 yds without stopping. But as its not a definitive diagnosis im stumped. Ive only had ecgs done and blood tests.
Avatar m tn s care but my dog is having bladder stones and he is very much unconfortable all night I have to take him downstairs to pee and all the vet has told me is to wait for the results of urine test to beggin treatment meanwhile he gave him Rimadyl for the Hip pain and also some Phenobarbitol for anxiety, but he still cries all the time, I am desperate !
Avatar f tn Thank you for your answer. Doctors do not do anything for me. I have coughing at night and in the morning. I have dyspnea, and today I got diarrhea, possibly due to an antibiotic which ended on last week. I am using lactic acid bacteria all the time. Today my INR rose to 3,3 (should be 3-3), I don't know why. It is not yet caused byt the diarrhea. I have sweeting now but no fever. I am waiting for electric cardioversion. I don't know when it can be done, there is a queue.
1052851 tn?1307741160 My doctor has me on Fiorinal C1/2 for migraines, and put me on Morphine for severe migraines and severe pain. I have often had to go to the hospital for the migraines, and they give me a shot of what I thought was Morphine in the butt, and after about 1/2 hr it was gone. This last experience, the Morphine did not work, and I ended up taking a bunch of Fiorinal instead. When I spoke to my local hospital, they said they dont give Morphine for migraines but Demerol?
Avatar f tn before it used too start with 12 - 15 sneezes in a row then i use to become weaker and same goes for my breathing. it seems to have worsen. at times i feel im out of breath, literally.i dont vomit.now if theres any intake or contact of snack biscuits, cold treats, smoky mosquito repelent,i`ll have short breath.
Avatar m tn Folks, I've been dealing with increasingly frequent bouts of what I would consider to be 'mild' dyspnea for about the last year. I'll give you a little bit of my medical background: When I was in college I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. I was prescribed Effexor XR, which I took for about 7 years. I tapered off that drug and for a few months was 'drug free', but found that I was starting to have anxiety problems again.
232 tn?1298411683 I have been having difficulty breathing lately. The problem has been going on for over 2 months but is increasing. I had a panic attack on Friday and went to er and they didn't detect any issues w/ breathing or my heart. I know something is wrong and am worried because I'm unable to take a deep breath and it's very uncomfortable and frustrating because I can feel there is a problem that gets worse when walking (any exertion), eating, lying down, etc.
Avatar f tn thanks he believes it might be right heart failure due too increase volume overload valves r ok he just had echo we believe post operative he had pulmonary embolism that resolved with anticoagulants n might caused the right heart failure though no dyspnea anymore n bilateral ll edema was only there for 2 days that was like 5 weeks ago
647120 tn?1256601651 Today I decided to wean off of morphine and try Ultram for a few weeks. My PM is willing to work with me, so that is a very good thing. She said hydrocodone isn't good because of the Tylenol, like you said, and I am sure she would be willing to help me try low-dose oxycontin or something else if this doesn't work. Thanks for the suggestion. It is probably wishful thinking that I will find the pain level has subsided by now.
