Avatar f tn Went to the ER and was admitted for observation for two days. The entire time he was hospitalized, including the ER, he had a normal ECG, normal serial cardiac enzymes, normal nuclear stress test without provoked pain. His telemetry was normal and he had no pain during his hospitalization. He was released from the hospital on Sunday.
1542723 tn?1294447438 Still get a little once in a while, after 7 years, but ONLY if the situation is stressful, but it can be from simple thinking on stressful events, situations. More I change my attitude over the issue is, for positive, sooner the angina stops and most right away. It is powerful to think we can control much more in our body more as we used to give credit for. Take care.
Avatar n tn I was diagnose with clogged arteries over a year ago. I even had a stent put in because one of my arteries was ecluded. I still had stable angina every time I did some for of cardio activity or is I ate something with sodium. I started using Nitroglycerin patches and even have the pills just in case my angina episode occurs. I had a date and I read online that you can't take viagra and any nitrates cause it can drop your blood pressure really low.
Avatar n tn Morphine will not damage his kidneys, there's no symptom regarding kidneys in morphine side effects list. This pain in chest seems to be angina pectoris - from narrowed coronary vessels. High white cells are sign of inflammation, which is not necessary an infection, and may be located anywhere in the body, it may even be a part of a heart disease itself. This antibiotic thing sounds to be judged quickly; it's weird.
Avatar f tn His blood pressure drops quickly, he becomes short of breath, and has severe chest pain that requires morphine. He had a heart attack several years ago but this started happening just about a year ago and is getting worse. Any ideas what to do next?
976897 tn?1379167602 My wife had an outpatients appointment today and I had to wait outside in the freezing cold to wait for the cab to arrive. Standing in the snow I would normally feel terrible. It was lightly sleeting and under normal angina situations, this would make my symptoms really bad, especially breathing a cold wind. However, I felt great, almost athletic. I tried walking fast up a steep hill that led to a car park and it was effortless, just like I had a new heart.
Avatar m tn pls help i woke up 18 months ago went to get out of bed an something popped in near my scapular left side, i have been in chronic pain since, ive had an mri an ultrasound but nothing shows up, im on constant medication which doesnt work even morphine didnt take the pain away the doctors are not very helpfull so im at my wits end, any suggestions what it could be?
Avatar m tn I attempted to explain to you, on another identical post as well, isosorbide is generic for sorbitrate and is taken to PREVENT angina due to ischemia. If you want medication handy in the event you are experiencing angina, nitro is fast acting and within seconds or so there is relief. Doesn't make sense to keep sorbitrate handy as there is not immediate relief.
Avatar f tn I was recently perscribed morphine for my fibromyalgia and spurs on my spine. My question is does the morphine make you really nauseated and throw up. The last few days the side effects have slowed down, but I would still like to hear some suggestions from people in the forum.
Avatar m tn I am 53 and had a stent placed for angina and 80% block on LAD. Since then I have had continued chest pains (they mainly come in my back) which I also feel in my jaw and arm. My cardiologist is insisting it's not cardiac, have been to ER a couple of times, all tests (troponin, ecg) clear. Strange though that my CK is raised but noone mentioned that.
Avatar f tn My daughter is now 35 years old. She suffered MI at age 32 and now has seven stents. She has been daignosed with Reynaud's and Prinz Metal angina. The problem we are having is that her condition is rare and she is being treated as if she is crazy. All tests are coming back negative and there is no ST elevation showing. As a result of this, her primary care givers...doctors and nurses do not believe she is in pain.
Avatar m tn s care but my dog is having bladder stones and he is very much unconfortable all night I have to take him downstairs to pee and all the vet has told me is to wait for the results of urine test to beggin treatment meanwhile he gave him Rimadyl for the Hip pain and also some Phenobarbitol for anxiety, but he still cries all the time, I am desperate !
1052851 tn?1307741160 My doctor has me on Fiorinal C1/2 for migraines, and put me on Morphine for severe migraines and severe pain. I have often had to go to the hospital for the migraines, and they give me a shot of what I thought was Morphine in the butt, and after about 1/2 hr it was gone. This last experience, the Morphine did not work, and I ended up taking a bunch of Fiorinal instead. When I spoke to my local hospital, they said they dont give Morphine for migraines but Demerol?
Avatar n tn Over the years I have tried numerous medications, all sorts of pain medications and my high tolerance for them makes it very difficult to find one that will help ease my pain. I am allergic to Neurontin, so I can't take that. I have tried therapy and exercise, but whenever I try to use the leg too much, I get unbearable nerve pain. My doctor recently gave me a nerve block but it had the opposite reaction, and I'm due to see him again in a week.
647120 tn?1256601651 Today I decided to wean off of morphine and try Ultram for a few weeks. My PM is willing to work with me, so that is a very good thing. She said hydrocodone isn't good because of the Tylenol, like you said, and I am sure she would be willing to help me try low-dose oxycontin or something else if this doesn't work. Thanks for the suggestion. It is probably wishful thinking that I will find the pain level has subsided by now.
Avatar m tn Ed34 is correct and of course this can happen! I have lived for years with angina caused by both heart vessel spasm and a dysfunction of the microvessels of the heart. My tests were fine for years. Spasms are life threatening, can cause angina, and heart attack and it's my recommendation that you stay on medication to settle down the potential spasm/angina. Angina can sometimes show on ekg and sometimes not depends on WHEN the heart decides to reflect the angina.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your answer about Prinzmetal angina. I was on a plane and blacked out. My husband said that I stopped breathing. When I came to I had vomited all over the place and was sweating really bad. He said that I was a grey color and I had no pupils, just narrow slits. I was in the hospital for 4 days, but they couldn't find anything wrong. They checked for blood clots, seizures, and heart tests. As you know the Prinzmetal angina doesn't show up on test.
Avatar m tn He said I tested positive for morphine and negative for xanax. I take 1-2 ,25mg xanax a day-prescribed by him for anxiety. He referred me to pain management and that Dr prescribed me 15 mg Amrix and 50 mg Nucynta ER a day. He said the morphine is not from the Nucynta and that I must not be taking the Xanax or Nucynta that neither one of them showed up. I am not taking Morphine of any kind. I took a Xanax and a Nucynta 3 hours before this appointment.
Avatar n tn I have had restricting breathing problems for over a year now and still looking for the answer. When it first started happening I went to my doctor and had many tests done with no results. I have stopped going to the doctors and have learned to live with it. Although I still look for answers on what it could be. I have been reading up on unstable Angina and wanted to ask some questions. When an attack occurs is it always pain full? Can these attacks last for several hours?
Avatar m tn What you need are proper tests to evaluate if your heart is in need of attention or not and an ECG is not always the tool for this. Angina is not a comfortable thing to live with.
Avatar f tn is their a cure for angina. also i get a dry throat also a pain in my chest. this is really worrying me.
976897 tn?1379167602 Ok partly good and partly bad news. Had my annual echo a month or so ago and met with my cardiologist in the week. My echo looks fine, EF still around 70% and no leaking valves etc. I mentioned the pains I am getting in my legs now, they only hurt when I walk and climbing stairs causes a lot of pain. The pain very quickly goes if I sit down. I had mentioned this to my local Doctor who said "oh I don't have a clue what that is".
Avatar m tn t much information to go on, but a defect indicates there is a perfusion (blood flow) abnormality in the area described. Usually there is chest pain (angina), but with older individuals often there is no angina. An angiogram can better evaluate and stent a partially occluded vessel. If there is blockage, the lack of oxygenated blood to the heart cells can cause muscle damage and impair heart wall movement...
Avatar m tn Tried GN spray and alleviated pain .. currently being treated for pericarditis but hospital report indicates no marker for pericarditis? Really dont know what to ask my doctor, this is getting me down. Any advise or suggestions please.
