541953 tn?1262586226 Hi, Iknow it has been a few years since your post, i was wondering how you are doing on the Opana ER. I am switching from Opana 30 mg ER to Morphine 60 mg ER.The Opana gave me side effects, dizziness, being in withdrawl if I missed a dose, and it did not help my chronic pain.. I have tried many ER drugs and I am having a hard time finding many of them. Plus my breakthrough meds are also hard to find.
Avatar f tn Federal law prohibits the transfer of morphine to any person other than the patient for whom it was prescribed. Generic morphine sustained release tablets are available and capsules are not available.
654183 tn?1225309036 My husband is addicted to Morphine he is taking Morphine Sulfate Extended Release 60 mg tablets. He was melting them down and injecting with a needle. He has been clean for 10 days. Any one know anything specific about this? What other drugs are similar to this? Anything you may know...

Avatar m tn Has anyone had the expierence of withdrawing from Extended Release Morphine Sulphate Tables, ie. MS Contin. Did you taper off or given another med to replace the morphine. how long were the withdrawels and how bad were they.
Avatar m tn By the way, neither oxycodone 10/325 or morphine sulfate 15mg are extended relief or ER medications. OxyContin or MSContin are both 12 hour, extended relief formulations of oxycodone and ms, respectively. Perhaps you mean that you're using 15mg MSContin twice a day, with the Percocet 10/325 as needed for breakthrough pain? If you are unclear, read the labels. If you are still confused, ask your doctor.
712802 tn?1274645485 I think Mary gave some great advice with regards to urinary retention. I am on Morphine ER and percocet and I drink a ton of water and that has seemed to help. Sometimes still after urinating, I feel like I didn't! But, I guess it comes with the territory. As far as your arms being cold, it sounds like poor circulation to me which can be attributed to the side effect of low blood pressure.
1445110 tn?1388209711 I recently was prescribed Opana ER was on methadone for two months and Norco for breakthrough pain. I had trouble tolerating the methadone. It made me feel horrible, couldnt function and didnt really help my back and hip pain. I am chicken to take the Opana. I need to get started on it and try it but I am so afraid of stronger pain meds. Anyone familiar with it and did it help with the pain without sedating you too much?
Avatar m tn can you take percet with morphine sulfate er 30mg? in other words can you mix the two together?
723959 tn?1314744225 Calm down a bit if you can. Call the ER and talk with someone there. That would be the best thing. Let us know how you are okay?
Avatar n tn I went to a knew Dr yesterday & he put me on Opana ER 10mg 2x a day & Morphine Sulfate IR 15mg 3x a day for break thru as needed. I've been on Roxicodone 30mg 6x a day & Norflex 100mg 2x a day prior to this appt yesterday. From what I've read on here the Opana ER is a good pain reliever after it gets into your system in approx 4-5 days so I'm hoping that is true bc so far I've not had any relief but I'm gonna give it a few more days.
Avatar f tn I just went to the ER the other day for abnominal pain. They gave me morphine and I thought I was going to die. I was in more pain than when I originally came in for. I do have GERD. I don't know if that is related or not. After taking the morphine I had to drink some liquid before having a CT scan that was very high in citric acid. That made it even worse. I felt like I was going to vommit and I couldn't stand the pain. After being in the ER for 6.
Avatar n tn He received 10 mg morphine in the ambulance, then 6 mg dilaudid, 4 mg zofran, and 1 mg ativan in about an hour. He weighs 190 lbs and is 6 feet tall. He suffered cardiopulmonary arrest. Could this combination of drugs have been the culprit? He received narcan and cpr and was resuscitated, thankfully. Some docs believe it was narcotic induced and others say it was a vagel down. Can you explain this?
Avatar f tn I was only taking morphine for 3 to 4 weeks. At first I was taking Morphine 15mg ER and then 30mg ER. It may be something else according to my dr. He is now sending me to a neurologist for some tests for possible fluid on the brain. I have short-term memory loss, balance problems and other problems to numerous to tell.
Avatar m tn I hate opana ER, especially the reformulation. I take them as prescribed with little to no pain relief and terrible side effects. They tear up my stomach and give me horrible indigestion. Yet, my DR wont switch me to something different.
Avatar f tn Well ladies im back in the hospital. . Not in ob triage but the er.. I posted earlier about not being able to breathe... good thing my husband took me to ER they r doing heart scan.. and looking for blood clots in my lungs..my oxygen is low so I got put on that and they xrayed my lungs. I'm morphine rite now... prayers plz my husband is very worried. I wany everything to be ok!
1312592 tn?1273756934 A few days after I quit it I was in so much pain from head to toe, I thought my kidneys shut down or something bad has happen to my body I went to the ER cause I was crying so much in pain. They said it was from stopping the morphine, I was shocked to say the least. so they gave me another pain med not as strong to get me through the withdrawls. So I would talk to your dr about it. And tell him how you feel about getting off the meds that help you so much.
Avatar n tn If you only had the morphine they gave you in the ER, you will probably be fine. It was probably a very small amount, and you had it for an injury. What I would do, is call your ob/gyn just so they are aware of the situation. Any time a doctor other than my OB precribed meds, I always called my OB to make sure they agreed with the medications.
1396846 tn?1332459510 Well I took all your advice and went to the ER. The good news, no heart attack the bad new, and inflammed stomach from the steroids. They gave me a buttload of medicine and some morephine for the pain. Wow that stuff is powerful lol. Anyway I am on a ten day pack of medicine for the heartburn and was told if I get any bloody stools or vomit blood I need to return immediatley. Thank you all for your advice. I am glad I followed it.
Avatar m tn My wife, who takes morphine sulfate ER and oxycodone IR for chronic pain. She does a urine test every month. For the first time in several years, 10+, her results showed a positive result for codeine, 107 ng/mL. I found an article that said a small amount of codeine may show up in patients taking high doses of morphine due to possible impurities in manufacturing. Is this correct? Has anyone else run in to this??
Avatar f tn Have been on 30mg twice day for over a year, my last dos will be tomorrow, my doctor told m to just go to ER if i have problems, is their nothing he can giv me to help, now i am terrified, anyone have suggestions
Avatar f tn A couple of days ago I went to the ER. At some point I was given through my IV a mixture of Benadryl and morphine. All of a sudden I had a feeling my throat was closing and had a hard time taking breaths. Since I was able to get some words out, it was apparent I was getting O2. The doctor checked my throat for swelling and didn't find any. I was hooked-up to a heart monitor, and the machine went nuts. I have never had this happen. What could have been the cause?
159063 tn?1247272817 ok so here is the scoop, hoping someone can give me some insight, I woke up at 1130 PM with severe and I mean severe pain right underneath my left breast near the rib cage, thought wow massive gas pains, I got up, went to the BR got a drink, and burped a few times, the pain intensified, to make a long story short this went on for about 2 hours, I was to the point of sweating profusely, left arm felt weak, and the pain was radiating to the back, now I am a nurse, and my first thought was oh my d
Avatar n tn I am comming off morphine sulfate - I still have 30 pills left - 20 of the 15mg IR and 10 of the 30mg ER - I just want to be off this drug and the withdrawals are more than I can stand. I have been taking them for almost 2 yrs now and want to stop. I am looking for any advice to help me with deal with withdrawals.
Avatar n tn I dont see how it could show up different, since the active drug in both oxycodone and oxycontin is the same drug, oxycodone. Oxycontin has been formulated where part of the drug is released as soon as you take it and the rest is made do dissolve more slowly. Thats why your not supposed to chew or break the tablet. It's like taking morphine IR or morphine ER. They will both show up as morphine.
