Avatar n tn I've been on suboxone for 3 years. 16 mg grams or so every day for 3 years. I had taken off from my clinic for my 1 year old surgery then we went to Gatlinburg. Needless to say I couldn't believe it They kicked me out. I've been an addict since I was 17 and I'm almost 31. Ayways about the.
Avatar f tn The half-life of morphine is approximately 3 hours. By definition, this means that body stores of morphine will decrease by 50% every 3 hours.....regardless of how much morphine is in the body. If there is 50mg of morphine in the body, 25mg (50%) will be lost in 3 hours; if there is only 2mg of morphine in the body, only 1mg (50%) will be lost in 3 hours. Note that in both cases, morphine levels drop by 50% during an interval of one half-life.
Avatar m tn I have become physically dependent on MS Contin which is the same type of med as oxycontin only Morphine is the narcotic instead of oxcycondone. I was prescribed this as a pain control medication for 2 years at which time they diagnosed my condition which required surgery. After surgery I now feel I don't need this strong pain med any longer and my other pain can be handled by a weaker pain med like percocet.

Avatar f tn I have a problem with my shoulder where it dislocates all the time so i end up in the E.R. allot. About 4 months ago i was given morphine before they put my shoulder back in and i developed a raised itchy rash where they had injected it on my arm. The next time i had morphine was about a month later (shoulder again) and i got a rash all over my body so they gave me an shot of antihistamine (poor spelling) and the rash went down.

Avatar f tn Second - is this a short acting (SA) or is it a long acting (LA) Morphine? 60mgs of Morphine is one heck of a one time dose. I would not take it. There could be serious complications, especially if you your system is opiate naive. Don't take it.

Avatar f tn My Mom is in end stage COPD and CHF and it has been a battle of "wills" and "won'ts" between my sisters and my mothers care....My Mom is on Hospice care and I believe in there "mission" for "comfort care" but my sisters think that my Mom is/will become a "drug addict" (my Mom can be given Morphine and Ativan if her respirations get too high... (and my Mom has been having respirations up into the 40's - normal is between 18 to 20....
Avatar f tn With my 1st born I got an epidural and I was looking into different pain relief options for this pregnancy. Any of you got morphine instead of an epidural and how was your experience?
Avatar n tn His hospice people were honest with him about what was happening in his body. But the decisions concerning end of life care were his. Now it's true - you cannot be under active doctor's care and be on hospice at the same time. Hospice is for end-of-life care, not for surgical procedures and so forth. That's the first decision that has to be made.
Avatar f tn At some point I was given through my IV a mixture of Benadryl and morphine. All of a sudden I had a feeling my throat was closing and had a hard time taking breaths. Since I was able to get some words out, it was apparent I was getting O2. The doctor checked my throat for swelling and didn't find any. I was hooked-up to a heart monitor, and the machine went nuts. I have never had this happen. What could have been the cause?
Avatar f tn What caused you to be on so many narcotics at such high doses? How will yo manage your pain when you get off the meds. I find it unusual you were on two long acting meds. I was on a lot at high doses and wanted to come off to see where my real pain was at. Longstory. I've been off and on because my pain causes my bp to skyrocket and can't get it down. But I've never let them put me on such high doses again and I will never go on Fentanyl unless it's for end of life pain.
Avatar m tn s you will face, cause it seems like everyone has a little bit different stuff going on but, i am on a high dose of morphine and recently ran out of my pills and i am not kidding you when i say that you will feel like ****. i actually thought i was gonna die and that was just day 2. thank god i got my grubby's on some from my doc but, i didn't know what i was gonna do. please take care and maybe talk to your doctor about it before you do it.
1187071 tn?1279369698 It is a pill that has morphine in it and another med to make you not feel the high of the morphine and not get addicted to it. Well so I thought. I stopped all meds at once just like the dr told me too and I went from Thursday to Saturday with out any meds. On saturday I woke up feeling fine and I went to work and started feeling so sick to my stomach. I went to the bathroom and puked 10 times. I went home and layed around. I promised my kids I would take them to the mall so I had to.
Avatar f tn Well today was day 9 of my mothers morphine detox. We woke up this morning to find her missing! She woke up at 4:30 this morning wanting some orange juice and complaining of nausea. So we gave her half a gravel and went back to bed. She called 911 after we went to bed and had an ambulance pick her up. We flew down to the hospital to find the paramedics still trying to give her an IV. She has bad veins from past surgeries. We told them about her situation and they were really great.
Avatar f tn My brother is 46 and has been an alcoholic for many years. 2 years ago when he had his first seizure and went into the hospital he found out he ha end stage liver disease. He was given 6 months to live, that was 2 years as, he never stopped drinking or took any of the medication.
654183 tn?1225309036 My husband is addicted to Morphine. I have never done any type of drug and I really don't know what to do to help. Every time I think I know what is going on I find out something else he has lied about. At first it was just taking the pills, then it was crushing the pills. Now I'm finding needles and spoons everywhere. He claims that he gets the pills down to liquid form and puts them in the needle and squirts it in his mouth. I just don't believe him anymore.
Avatar m tn Be sure to maintain hydration. That one almost got me with morphine more so than any other drug. You lose a lot of fluid in a lot of ways and generally dont replace enough of it. Also look at the amino acid protocol listed in the Health Discussions or via medhelp search engine. Read the Thomas Recipe also - even though most it wont apply directly yo you on day 4 or so.........
Avatar m tn The long term effects of Morphine sulfate on the overall health of the human body. Including heart health, gastro-intestinally, and other organs. I know someone who has been taking it for at least at least 10+years. I am getting worried about this person. A few years ago he had a very bad stomach problem, and they could never figure it out. I pretty much thought it had something to do with the morphine. Any advice? He needs it for his back.
