1674921 tn?1304177675 I am only allowed to take 4 Tylenol daily - no aspirin or Advil. I can have morphine should I want it, but no aspirin.
Avatar n tn Earlier this year when I switched from morphine to Opana ER, I noticed that the conversion added 60 mg of morphine to my current dosage and I discussed this with my doctor to make sure that he wanted to increase my dosage by that much when switching me from morphine to Opana ER and he confirmed that he did.
Avatar f tn 30mg of Morphine is small dosage anyway so I think either doctor increase dosage OR switch to stronger opiates for breakthrough. You did not mention what milligrams it is for percocet? OR you choose to cut it down. Whichever you and doctor may decide what it would be best for you.
Avatar m tn So I'm on the Fentanyl 25mcg patch, switched from 180mg of Morphine ER because of tolerance. As I've said here before, but reiterating for those who may not know, it doesn't work for me. The Fentanyl that is. It was pointed out that the dosage is most likely low and I should be on the 50mcg patch, but I'm not a big fan of the patch in general.
1686743 tn?1306005451 For the last year I have been taking15 mg Morphine2 times a day, and 5mg Oxycodone HCI For pain in back and hips, and knee. At this dosage I have been getting some relief.Could one say that I'm chemically dependent. I'm 6 ft tall and 172 lbs. What is the suggested dosage for 61 yr old? I just had surgery in my chest and the pain level is 10 by times 10. they increased the oxy to 10 mg every 4 hrs and the Morphine 3 times a day 30 mg a day. with little effect.
Avatar n tn The side effects can be of higher magnitude in some patients. Make sure that you have taken appropriate dosage, otherwise you may have to discontinue the drug and need to take another class of drugs dextromethorphan, guanapheneisn etc. I suggest you to consult your doctor for further management. Take care and regards.
210982 tn?1280983895 Yes although dosage and frequency of usage does matter. In my experience morphine, high dosage oxycontin and methadone are the most effective (and the most addicting) pain killers.
Avatar f tn Are you afraid that the doc will think that somehow you will be addicted to the stim meds. It can't happen if you follow the prescribed dosage. And even if you don't, the drugstores won't refill the prescription till the end date. Research as shown that addiction is not a problem when used correctly.
Avatar m tn I gave him back all my 100 mg morphine and all my hydromorphone and asked for a lower dosage. He then gave me 30mg twice a day for a week...that was okay...I could deal with it....But now I don't have any of those left. I am okay for about 2 or 3 days and then the withdrawal symptoms get really bad (and I take another 100 mg capsule--I saved about 10 of them)...I am cold(freezing) all the time, terrible bouts of depression, and then I get gross body movements happening..
Avatar f tn Most PM doctors are currently keeping patients below 90 mg ME (morphine equivalent) doses, and while I don’t know how long you have been at your current dose, 80 mg of OxyContin is a rather high dose these days. Pain management is about managing pain to allow you to perform most activities of daily living while keeping the opiate levels as low as possible, and incorporating other types of medications, treatments and therapies to reduce pain further and keep it at manageable levels.
Avatar f tn I had to go to a rhumotologist and was prescribed morphine and it has change my quality of life drastically.I can walk again. As i understand it the morphine is the less destructive on the liver than the other drugs for pain.Anyway it has helped me a great deal.Just a suggestion.
Avatar n tn Signs include slurred speech and difficulty in balance. Is this common for cancer patients or something more. She is taking morphine for the pain, but they seem to think it isn't that. She didn't take any the last couple of days, yet the symptoms are still there. I know that every person is different when it comes to cancer, but what should we expect in the comming weeks as the chemo has stopped. Could she feasibly live for another few months in the amount of pain she's in?
Avatar m tn About 1 month ago my pain management doctor increased my dosage of morphine sulfate from 10 gm to 30 mg (1 every 12 hours). Shortly after I began taking the 30mg morphine sulfate, I started to develop a slight rash. Over the last week, the rash has become much worse and a real problem. I've been taking over the counter benadryl tabs to get some relief from the rash which is helping a little to relief the itching and rash.
Avatar f tn oral capsule, oral capsule extended release, oral concentrate, oral solution, oral tablet, oral tablet extended release Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction while taking morphine (the active ingredient contained in MS Contin) hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Avatar m tn The 50 patch is more in line with your previous 60 morphine sulfate, plus some break through meds, dosage. The problem most have with the patches is that they do not last three days, only two for most people. See if your insurance company and doctor will allow you to do a 2 day dosage, vs the std 3 day.
Avatar n tn I just spent 8 days in the hospital. I was given 15mg of morphine every hour. They released me with nothing and that is fine. Accept I feel like I am dieing. I am so scared, I dont know what is normal withdraw if I need a Dr. or what....
Avatar n tn The morphine is actually much less problematic than the oxycodone. You should be comfortable taking the morphine and not the oxy.................
Avatar m tn im not sure what mg but i expect him to start me on 15 of morphine. will the morphine help me? should i talk to him about another option such as percocet? im scared that the low beginning dosage will affect my quality and comfort even more.
Avatar f tn Second - is this a short acting (SA) or is it a long acting (LA) Morphine? 60mgs of Morphine is one heck of a one time dose. I would not take it. There could be serious complications, especially if you your system is opiate naive. Don't take it.
Avatar f tn I went to the drs today and explained that the oxy 15s I was prescribed were not working as well as the 10/325s I was on so my dr. gives me morphine 30 mgs I have taken a few they dont seem very strong either. I was told I was not allowed to switch for a while. I will have to just make them work. will they start working better in a while or am I just stuck on then?
Avatar n tn I was just wondering what dosage of Armour Thyroid other Hypothyroid patients were on? I understand it can be somewhat difficult to establish the correct dosage. I have read some patients started at 15mg while others started at 60mg but not what dosage they ended up with or how long it took them to arrive at an adequate dose. I was also wondering about the 'empty' stomach recommendation.
Avatar f tn Morphine must be okay for the liver because that's what they used when I was in the ICU following my liver transplant. Be VERY careful with morphine. I was on it for 7 days and went wacky with hallucinations of all kinds.
