Avatar f tn I have a problem with my shoulder where it dislocates all the time so i end up in the E.R. allot. About 4 months ago i was given morphine before they put my shoulder back in and i developed a raised itchy rash where they had injected it on my arm. The next time i had morphine was about a month later (shoulder again) and i got a rash all over my body so they gave me an shot of antihistamine (poor spelling) and the rash went down.
Avatar f tn Found out on Friday there is actually something wrong with my right knee that could be causing the back pain (the back pain was in my back and sending pain down my right leg). They are doing surgery on Wednesday because back in '09 I had a lateral release in my right leg and my band in my knee healed and grew back really thick, so he is going back in to thin the band up. He said he believe it is what is causing all my pain and etc. If it makes any sense..
Avatar n tn Morphine for pharyngitis? Right. The only risk you had was unprotected sex.
Avatar m tn An opiate is natural and from the opium poppy plant. Examples of these would be heroine, opium, morphine and codeine. An opioid is a synthetic drug made to mimic the effects of an opiate. These would be Percocet, Fentanyl, Methadone, Oxy, Demerol, etc. Opiates are said to be more addictive. As far as your question about receptors....yes there are differences. I used to say opiate and opioids not knowing the difference until I googled "Opiate vs Opioid" a couple years ago.
Avatar f tn The first 3 nights were the worst I was very stiff and sore in the muscles but then the surgeon wasnt exactly gentle. I had a huge band of bruising across my abdomen. After about a week I was pretty good. I didnt have the morphine because it made me feel sick so I just had some pills they give out in the hospital but I think I only took those for the first week. Couldnt have lived without them lol. Plus panadol. Ive heard planned ceasars are a lot less painful.
1380942 tn?1279156103 I have had nerve pain issues since 2001 resulting initially from bulging discs in lower 3 vertebrae 3, 4, and 5. I survive on 2 capsules of morphine and percocet as needed daily, band, bi-lateral epidural steroid injections every 6 to 8 months.
Avatar f tn With my 1st born I got an epidural and I was looking into different pain relief options for this pregnancy. Any of you got morphine instead of an epidural and how was your experience?
Avatar n tn Hi yes it is normal behavior for Morphine, when you first start it your on top of the world then comes irritation and depression and even nightmares for some. How much is he on? How long? and dose he want to quit?
525732 tn?1213046071 Well, first of all i know what i would tell your husband. Who cares what he wants or doesn't like. Look at the mess you are in. Sounds like you need to go and speak with a doctor and explain that you want to get off the morphine. Don't forget to tell him about this husband also who is obviously causing you alot of anxiety.
Avatar m tn I pretty much thought it had something to do with the morphine. Any advice? He needs it for his back. My view is morphine is probably better than any other of the narcotic analgesics because it is the most natural and has been around for centuries. I certainly would not want him on oxycontin or fentanyl. Is Opana ER any better? Need advice from doctor preferably or someone who has an idea what they are talking about regarding this matter.
654183 tn?1225309036 My husband is addicted to Morphine. I have never done any type of drug and I really don't know what to do to help. Every time I think I know what is going on I find out something else he has lied about. At first it was just taking the pills, then it was crushing the pills. Now I'm finding needles and spoons everywhere. He claims that he gets the pills down to liquid form and puts them in the needle and squirts it in his mouth. I just don't believe him anymore.
Avatar m tn I am going to go cold turkey on tuesday from 100mg morphine, been on them about 6 to 8 weeks. feeling sick when I dont take them and not able to take off time for detox and types for detox?
784419 tn?1236261756 After running the gamut of pain medications in an effort to find some relief from the constant, chronic pain I endure from spondylolisthesis, I've been prescribed morphine tablets at 10 mgs per tab. I'm still getting no relief from the pain. Should I ask my GP for a higher dosage?
Avatar f tn Morphine must be okay for the liver because that's what they used when I was in the ICU following my liver transplant. Be VERY careful with morphine. I was on it for 7 days and went wacky with hallucinations of all kinds.
Avatar f tn my friend dissolved morphine tablets in hot water then injected it into her vein is this going to hurt her?
Avatar n tn The morphine is actually much less problematic than the oxycodone. You should be comfortable taking the morphine and not the oxy.................
Avatar n tn iam on anti depressents floxetine & amytriptlijne then tramadol & 80 mg of morphine a day do you think i would be ok to get a job
Avatar f tn Second - is this a short acting (SA) or is it a long acting (LA) Morphine? 60mgs of Morphine is one heck of a one time dose. I would not take it. There could be serious complications, especially if you your system is opiate naive. Don't take it.
Avatar f tn for13 yrs, on opiates much lower dose than u for 8 yrs..I keep having nerves cut, etc as band aids ...nerves grow back...however.. After 7 yrs on immediate release ocycodone, I went off of a medicine for nerve. Pain that sent my pain so high, I had doubled it for 3weeks..so my doctor put me on a time release...I don't do time time release well because of stomach issues..and I hated being tied to control release...
Avatar n tn What separates this from the others is that it is intense, (does not go away with meds, she has had Imitrex and another med is is currently on Morphine which is allowing her to sleep) but mostly because it is postural. If she is lying down it is tolerable, the moment she stands or attempts to sit up she has intense pain. The MRI was clear except for a small area which they related to the headache. Do you have any suggestions or ideas for easing her suffering? Thank you for your help!
Avatar m tn I've posted a few times recently to say how hard i've been finding it to reduce my morphine. Well today I had to phone my doctor & explain how i've been feeling since I was told to reduce my morphine from 240mg in pills in the morning to 180mg instead. I also take oramorph 20ml & 4 other very strong painkillers every 4 hours. He said to go back onto the 240mg for a week & we'll try to cut down by 30mg instead.

Avatar f tn So I only have 10 days left, give or take and I'm on the verge of ordering a belly band from target. I wanna make sure my stomach goes down and isn't flabby. I know it doesn't go down right away anyways but you can wear it right out of the hospital. Anyways has anyone had experience with trying one or anything similar like corsets etc? Please let me know if it works at all.
