Common Questions and Answers about Morphine and zoloft

avinza

Avatar f tn I have several chronic pain conditions and have been on heavy duty pain meds for years. I have been weaning off as fast as I can as I was planning on getting pregnant next year sometime. However... life throws you surprises and well here I am. I am on methadone and morphine. I'm down to only 5-10mg of methadone and 15-30mg of morphine daily. I am still having pain and need some amount to make life tolerable. However I know it's horrible for baby! Any tips?
Avatar m tn I take 200 mg morphine sulfate 3 times daily and hydrocodine 10-325 4 times daily 600 mg provigil ,backlofin, soma, zoloft
Avatar m tn Avanza (spelled Avinza) is morphine sulphate which is time released and is a narcotic so I'd assume if you were to use a lot it would be able to mess with your liver functions. Why they use a narcotic for antidepression I have no idea though but that is what it says. Avanza is the wrong spelling but it is Avinza according to drugs.com and other websites.
Avatar n tn Morphine 15mg, Oxycodone 10/325mg, Xanax .25 mg, and Zoloft 100mg. I have been taking the Morphine and Oxy 3xs/day, 8am, 2pm and 8pm. I take my Zoloft at 8am and my Xanax at 8pm. I also take a stool softener for constipation and have to take Tylenol now and then when I get the Morphine headache. Now that I have read several questions and answers, I will no longer take the Morphine and Oxy together, I didn't realize that they are the same thing basically.
Avatar m tn Hi Scott and Welcome to the forum.. The zoloft will not reset your brain only time will do that but it will help with the depression we experience when our wd is over.. It sounds like you are on day 2 of your detox.. I know you are getting sick but try to force yourself to drink sip fluids ok you do not want to become dehydrated.. and nibble on food and if not try to get some ensure to give you some nutrients..
1131237 tn?1260211024 I have been on zoloft for almost 20 yrs, have tried several other anti-depressants in the past but always come back to Zoloft. My physician has suggested effexor which I tried and it helped with my nerve pain, but made me a little "nuts". Now my new doc wants to add a norepinefrin to my or something else since my siutation healthwise is so despairing at times....plus with Zoloft, weight loss is almost impossible, which would help my health issues.
Avatar m tn i want to taper back down to my prescribbed dose and the family i live with (who ALSO take morphine and one has a morphine pump and takes oral all legit prescriptions) say that doctors just take away all your meds and let you suffer the withdraw. I know that in some cases that is probably true, but the doctors at my local ER said i would HAVE to taper because of my amounts i was taking and the amount of time i've been on the stuff, and my pain. but i just need some advice.
737515 tn?1252552423 I have been hospitalized for food poisoning in that time and they ruled out anything being phyiscally wrong so that leads me to believe that it is a result of my anxiety. I am treated with Zoloft 50 mg and Ativan 1 mg as needed. The ativan seems to take away the dizziness. Is this common to feel light headed and faint?? Also when i was in the hospital they had me on morphine for days and now i can't help but think im having some withdrawal.
Avatar f tn I have always been afraid of taking pills. I tend to get side effects and am so sensitive to medicines. Over the last 5 years I have been under insane amounts of stress... Work stress, fertility struggles, child safety concerns involving step daughter and possible pedophile, and then to top it off I nearly died two years ago when my tubal pregnancy ruptured. (Prior to being transported for surgery hey gave me a small dose of morphine which it turns out I'm highly allergic too).
Avatar f tn I have found on various websites that Zoloft can cause confusion and interfere with whats real and whats not.... xanweaner: To make this as short as possible, Grandmom started on Zoloft because of panic attacks and depression..... turned out, it was her heart valve gone bad that was cutting off her air and making her panic... When the doctors discovered the heart valve 'thing' they were going to do surgery to correct it but she was too weak.
Avatar f tn I have been having really bad anxiety on and off. The Dr. gave me Zoloft and it seems to have helped with my anxiety. But as it is I have a very hard time getting restful sleep. When I do sleep I have ongoing dreams and my mind doesn't get any rest. Now with the Zoloft my sleep is much less restful. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn I looked up the side effects of Zoloft and tachycardia or any arrhythmia for that matter is not listed. You may want to ask your doctor about this. It could be some anxiety but the Zoloft should be helping with that by now. Take care.
Avatar f tn Before, my regular routine was taking the zoloft first and my anxiety took over and always made me so nervous in the mornings I would have to take the clonazepam shortly after the zoloft. Is there something stronger than zoloft that may help my severe anxiety better? Thank you so much.
Avatar f tn I had been on Zoloft for the past 5 months and before that Paxil (the lowest dosages for both). When I found out I was pregnant I stopped taking Zoloft but the depression and anxiety has returned. I would like to go back on Zoloft but am concerned if, because I quit "cold turkey", it's okay to do so. Should I ease back into it, or can I continue to take it as I had been? I've tried contacting my doctor but have not received a response.
Avatar f tn 25 mg because of depression and anxiety caused by insomnia. My MD says Zoloft will help me sleep within about three weeks. Anyone have any experiences to share? Thanks!
Avatar m tn You have to take the control back...stop reading, stop searching about SSRIs and Zoloft and brain damage. The one Zoloft pill did NOT cause any damage. In my humble opinion, you are dealing with severe anxiety, and you need to formulate a treatment plan. As of right now, I doubt you could tolerate another med, as you are still connecting everything to the Zoloft. Therefore, you will likely have another anxiety-induced reaction to another med.
Avatar n tn I have been on Zoloft 50 mg and Clonazepan 0.5mg for years and never had a problem. About 3 months ago I decided to decrease my dose of Zoloft to 25mg as I was feeling wonderful and my husband likes to have a couple of drinks and was on my case about having a drink or two with him. So I decided to decrease my meds. I completely stopped taking the Zoloft - cold turkey. And decreased my clonazepan by 1/2.
Avatar m tn He then prescribed Zoloft (50mg) once a day along with the 2 doses(1mg)ea of Lorazepam untill the Zoloft takes effect. The problem is I still feel like crap just about all day. Dizzy, sour stomach, a lttle shaky, weak feeling. I've been on the Zoloft for about a week now. It's hard, but, should I give the Zoloft time to work? Could I try using less or more Lorazepam? I really want to get off the Lorazepam. My doctor blames it on my upcoming retirement.
459279 tn?1206997145 I was on Zoloft 50 mg for 6 months, blood pressure was up and still was having anxiety and trouble sleeping, so my Dr increased the Zoloft to(100mg daily) and recently added buspar, 3x daily, I do feel better except my weight is going up even with exercise which is causing allot of new stress. Would you agree the meds are increasing my weight? I'm a while make 46, 5'11 199 lbs.
Avatar f tn Buprenorphine is a thebaine derivative with powerful analgesia approximately 20-40x more potent than morphine. Buprenorphine is a partial agonist and antagonist of the opioid receptors in the central nervous system which means that when its molecule binds to a receptor, it will transduce only a partial response in contrast to a full agonist such as morphine. Buprenorphine also has very high binding to the opioid receptors such that the opioid receptor antagonists (e.g.
Avatar m tn Normally the anxiety resolves itself within a few weeks but this time it has persisted and continues on. Could it be caused by the morphine? This is my thought but the pharmacist said he didn't think it was. Also my doctor is suggesting 8 tylenol a day to replace the morphine. I am so skeptical of it being adequate though I know I can manage less than the 60 mg of morphine now. What are your thoughts?
Avatar n tn it was just a coincidence. I started Zoloft 50mg and the tinnitus subsided. At zoloft 100mg, it subsided even more, almost disappearing. I went off Zoloft completely again and the tinnitus returned with all its fury. I started again and the tinnitus once again subsided. Has anyone else had a similar experience? I'll keep taking Zoloft for tinnitus, even though I feel no need for an anti-depressant.
Avatar n tn Is there anything I should know about how to take my Synthroid, 75 mcg and Zoloft, 150? I would like to know if I should take them separately and if so, how many hours apart?
Avatar f tn I have been taking Zoloft for 8 years for anxiety, stemming from menopause. I've been having discomfort in my upper right quadrant under my ribs for about 6 years. My doctor diagnosed IBS and I've been taking donnatal, which helps. I've recently decided to taper off of the Zoloft and have noticed that my discomfort has diminished. Could it have been associated with taking the Zoloft?
1308164 tn?1275224247 hi, i am on clonazepam and zoloft as well. i have started zoloft 50mg, and i take klonopin for anxiety attacks, 0.25 x 3 daily.
527657 tn?1214051850 I read up about both but am wondering if weight gain is a problem with zoloft. As for paxil i gained over 25 pounds and now Im trying to lose it and it sure isnt easy. I found out you don't take zoloft at night but paxil you do. I have got to lose this weight.
