Avatar f tn I'm having Vasodilation all over my body and it is driving me crazy. My arms and legs feel heavy / weak and I'm having migraines. I am in so much pain and my stomach is so messed up. My parents don't seem to understand a word I am saying. I know it's because of my Implanon but my appointment to talk about getting it removed isn't until the 1st. What can I do to stop this excessive Vasodilation??? I'm anemic but can I still take pain meds?
Avatar f tn s or produce undue strain on a damaged heart. (4) opiates such as morphine have been used as emergency treatment for angina and to relieve spasm in coronary arteries. With long-term use of methadone the blood vessels to not dilate rapidly upon administration of morphine rendering it innefective as a treatment for angina.
Avatar n tn However ,many researchers agree that the common factor in most types of clubbing is distal digital vasodilation, which results in increased blood flow to the distal portion of the digits. Whether the vasodilation results from a circulating or local vasodilator, neural mechanism, response to hypoxemia, genetic predisposition, or a combination of these or other mediators is not agreed on currently. http://emedicine.medscape.com/article/1105946-overview I hope it helps.

Avatar f tn This has been happening every now and then for a couple months. I’ve been calling them episodes. What happens is I sort of get this deja vu feeling or just a odd memory almost like my brain stops for a few seconds. And then right after that heat courses through my body. It feels like the heat flows through my veins starting at my upper body then flowing down my arms and legs.
Avatar n tn feeling in my head and within an hour I was throwing up and had a massively violent headache. They did 2 or 3 cerebral angiograms and an MRI or 2 and found no aneurysm or genetic defect to cause the bleed. In short, they don't know why it happened. When asked about chances of recurrence, my doctors have just said "probably not". But it happened about a day after I had flown in a plane, something I had done frequently before then.
9442948 tn?1406816451 Hot tubs, Jacuzzis, and hot baths cause your body temp to rise which leads to vasodilation. Vasodilation is when your blood vessels dilate causing a drop on blood pressure which can I'm turn decrease the amount of oxygen getting to baby. Cold water, like in a pool, won't have any effect of your blood pressure and is perfectly safe up until your water breaks.
Avatar m tn hi, one guess is that you undergo a large degree of vasodilation in response to heat - and then you undergo 'reflex tachycardia' as your system compensates for a big drop in BP. But that scenario wouldn't seem to apply to when you do simple physical activity. Still, I'd get a home BP monitor and see what happens with your BP during these episodes.
Avatar n tn But personally, I would think that being in a hot tub would lower your blood pressure, because the warmth will cause peripheral vasodilation. Under normal circumstances, vasodilation lowers blood pressure, and vasoconstriction elevates it. Also, you tend to relax in a hot tub, and the relaxation would tend to lower blood pressure. But ask the doctor, because maybe there is some effect of hot tubs that I am not aware of.
Avatar f tn right down into the bone in my left arm..pain like nothing iv ever felt... Avatar f tn Looking at them I noticed that the soles only turn purple when they are warm and then go back to normal. I’m thinking it’s vasodilation related but have never heard of this or seen it before. My hands do not do this. I had a lower leg venous ultrasound that was normal. Let me know if you have any ideas.
907968 tn?1292622204 s vasodilation, and a very healthy condition for your system to be in. I get it all the time, and look forward to it. The flow of blood through arteries increases Nitric Oxide production, and NO is the main vasodilator. You might find that as you get fitter, the vasodilation occurs earlier.
Avatar m tn 1600mg beta- alanine. 100mg choline bitatrate and a few other ingredients. It says its suppose to blood vessels and cause rapid vasodilation in muscles. I know my penis isnt a muscle but could this have maybe caused the problem and what can I do?
Avatar m tn Normally the anxiety resolves itself within a few weeks but this time it has persisted and continues on. Could it be caused by the morphine? This is my thought but the pharmacist said he didn't think it was. Also my doctor is suggesting 8 tylenol a day to replace the morphine. I am so skeptical of it being adequate though I know I can manage less than the 60 mg of morphine now. What are your thoughts?
Avatar m tn HI, I am a relatively healthy 22 year old that runs 3 miles 5 days a week at an 8 min/mile pace. My normal blood pressure and resting heart rate are 118/76 and around 50 BPM. My question is more for my general knowledge because I can't seem to find a solid answer. Specifically, what exactly happens to one's blood pressure during exercise? I took my blood pressure within one minute of my run today and it was 103/58 and 139 BPM.
Avatar n tn I am not sure what the circumstances are that surround your situation, but I do know that strokes are caused by a blood clot or a brain bleed. My mom just had 2 strokes and they actually gave her a morphine pump for her head because it hurt so bad. I do not think they would have done that if there was a chance it would cause more strokes. Keep doing your research though, I guess you never know!
Avatar f tn THey hurt around the eye lid area. And it is also a little blurry after i finish exercising. Why is this? WHat should i do?
1751415 tn?1315069443 Hello! I wanted to thank you for the information on Morphine. I neglected to mention that it was not the hospice nurse but the nurse from the nursing home. We will mention this. I know that they use a Fentanyl (hope I'm spelling it correctly) patch and morphine by mouth. They were giving him the patch with Vicodin but I guess because his pain was increasing they switched to Morphine. We are due to have a conference this week. Again, thank you!
1296927 tn?1272559732 She has not had any serious injuries, just the typical bumps and bruises. The competition and traveling put some stress onto her body. She is 9 years old and on Monday she was taken to the ER via ambulance because she fainted in school. At the time of her fainting, the teacher was showing pictures of the muscle structure of the knee and pretending to do "knee surgery.

Avatar f tn Still have four more herniated discs from degenerate disc and also stenosis. Lots of pain but 150mg Morphine a day does the trick. Willing to give antidepressant a try......
Avatar m tn Morphine is a terrible one to quit ct....and I doubt that the Doc would want to prescribe enough Norco's to do the job...make certain the taper is long and slow....nausea and vomiting are solid w/d symptoms. Stay well hydrated unless you like your fluid I.V. - most of the MS prescribed outpatient these days is MSContin - morphine sulfate continuos release.
Avatar f tn He was very nice and helpful. He gave me morphine extended release 30mg tables and I need to take those 3x a day. I asked him about pregnancy and this medication. He said that there is always a chance of compilations. He said he has seen several patients that have gotten pregnant on this medication, some have tapered off of it and some continued to stay in this medication.
1148698 tn?1261715542 Hi..I'm new here and hoping that someone might be able to answer this question. Can Elavil be used as an effective means to releive morphine withdrawl symtoms? I'm about to go down that road and I know the agony of withdrawl from morphine and don't want to go through it again...or at least as bad as it was before. I have decreased my morphine intake from 150mg a day down to 90mg within two days.
Avatar f tn Ultrasound showed me at 5 weeks. When I was 5 weeks I had a migraine and the er dr gave me morphine even after confirming the pregnancy. Could I be having a miscarriage and could the morphine have caused it? I don't have any pain just bleeding more than spotting.
Avatar n tn s 102/79 heart rate of 94. What I failed to mention is I am receiving chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Would this have any berring on my bp?
