morphine and stomach pain

I just went to the ER the other day for abnominal pain. They gave me morphine and I thought I was going to die. I was in more pain than when I originally came in for. I do have GERD. I don't know if that is related or not. After taking the morphine I had to drink some liquid before having a CT scan that was very high in citric acid. That made it even worse. I felt like I was going to vommit and I couldn't stand the pain. After being in the ER for 6.

He is also on a internal pain pump which dispenses morphine for the original malady of chronic pain. He is really out of it. Like he has dementia. We dont know what to do. He is too weak for interferon and will probably need a liver sooner or later. Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing or know what I am talking about.

i have psoriatic arthritis, joint desease and severe neck and back pain to the point i cannot function without pain meds every part of my body from morning to night hurts like hell,so dont compare people with disabiltys to herion attics please i have been taking 30 mg morphine for a year and will not even consider incresasing the dose till i have to,plus i went 50 years of my life free of pills,so pllllllleeeeeeaaaasssseeee dont compare sick people to herion attics,they have a choice,we dont!!!

Now I am suffering from severe abdominal and sever back pain. I went to a pain clinic. There is something wrong and they are not finding it. All tests AOK I am having hot flashes and at 62 it is not menopause. My husband said when they occur you could fry an egg on the top of my head.

The problem i am having is the pain is getting worse and worse, this evenign it is really painful my stomach is very bloated and the pain is all through my stomach and back i feel sick but havent been sick yet. Im unsure what to do should i go to the emergency doctors surgery? can anyone give some adivse/tips on easing the pain as pain killers arent working.

Hi all, I have been taking morphine IR 30 mg 3 pills 3 times a day for about 5 years and extended relief morphine 100 mg. twice a day. My primary dr. Has been concerned about my stomach and liver. She's been wanting me to lower dose for a while. Was in hospital dec.3 for stomach issues and they gave me 2 30 mg. morphine twice a day and 2mg dilaudid twice a day. That seemed ok but was in hospital. Well when I went to see primary dr.

Doctor gave me morphine to subside the pain. After morphine was administered my stomach pain tripled and I was told that I was screaming and convulsing. The doctor said he had never seen anyone react that way to Morphine before. A few years later I found out after a HIDA scan with CCK that my gall bladder doesn't work properly less than %17. Am I allergic to Morphine or can Morphine have that affect given to someone experiencing a gall bladder attack?

Yes I am I have taken so many things and am currently taking morphine immediately relief and morphine extended relief and it does nothing at all. Its more like a real bad pressure then a pain. It feels somewhat like I got punched in the stomach and it makes it hard for me to breathe. But the pressure on my stomach is harder. I can't sleep eat I can't do nothing at sometimes because of this pain.

They have been unable to do the the heart surgery, because of high blood count and pain in his stomach. The pain has been consistently between 6 and 7 (10 being the worst), without morphine he has pain when breathing, moving, eating and/or drinking. They have done a biopsy of his stomach and it's normal. They have done ultrasounds of the stomach and it's clear. They have checked his liver and it's clear.

my husband has been taking morphine for the last 2 weeks for chronic stomach pain, they were not prescribed by a doctor they were his freinds tablets, hehas not taken and for the last day but is now in bed with severe stomach cramps and being sick. i was not aware he was taking these tablets nd have only found out because he has told me this morning.

this works really well from morphine, i was on 30mg of morphine tablets twice daily for pain relief and had also had enough..i found out my local GP was doing this rapid detox from opiate drugs in his surgery it cost around 5 k and took one day only..he injected me with a few strong drugs to help with the withdrawals then used narcane to put me into full withdrawal..after 2 hours he installed a 6 month Naltrexone Implant into my lower abdomen..this drug is an antagonist to opiate use..

Hi there, I'm not sure what Arachnoiditis is, but 30mg of morphine a day isn't really a strong dose, at least in my opinion. The dehydration issue sounds pretty scary and i can't imagine its the morphine. I would have your doctor refer you to a specialist to get to the bottom of your dehydration problems. (please note- I am not a doctor nor a medical professional, this is just my personal opinion). Good luck!

I also wonder what you mean by stomach starts running.I have had serious stomach pain and bloating for like 8 years now and it has ruined my life. I barely function daily. I think after all this time and from what i have read it might be food alergy from probably wheat gluten. After years of doctors no one can find anything wrong with me. I am on morphine pills to function at all. It was always an issue from the beginning..the pain and suffering...it just is getting old. I hope this helps.

my 18 year old son is currently hospitalized for the second time in 6 months for stomach problems. He has vomiting, which is acid, and or foam, pain in the upper left side of his belly. Said its a gnawing, burning feeling, pushing on it makes him feel like throwing up. He just had a scope procedure done and they found 5 or 6 red, raw areas of his stomach. No ulcers though. They are giving him protonix, omeprazole, carafat, and phenegran.

I have bad migraines and I use for pain, dimeral and they can add something to not make you sick to your stomach as well.

dark smelly urine; chest pain; hot flashes; lost 80 lbs 2 years; stomach pains; growling and gurgling stomach. Justr feel bad most of the time. a new bad feeling for me; no real from of referance. Can anyone please help being sick so long is a bum trip for all of us. My doctor has me on Fiorinal C1/2 for migraines, and put me on Morphine for severe migraines and severe pain. I have often had to go to the hospital for the migraines, and they give me a shot of what I thought was Morphine in the butt, and after about 1/2 hr it was gone. This last experience, the Morphine did not work, and I ended up taking a bunch of Fiorinal instead. When I spoke to my local hospital, they said they dont give Morphine for migraines but Demerol?

The pharmacist was concerned about the Codeine #3 not being enough to wean me off of the morphine. I cut down the morphine and started living in pain all of the time. I have appointment with new pain clinic on the 18th but I don't know how I am going to make it but I'm sure I will. Is this a normal way to deal with a patient? I don't think I was misusing the morphine, if anything I think I should have talked to them about the pain I was still in but the P.A.

my mom's doctor's had her taking hydrocodone 5MG when she was first diagnosed, but slowly she ended up with stronger pain meds until in the last year she was on Morphine. She wasn't a candidate for treatment or a transplant though.
