morphine and ocd

I am an anxiety ridden ocd having migraine sufferring disaster. Mine mimic stroke and are Brutal!!!! I have been in the ER 3 times in the past year because of them.I also get major aura with out actual headaches too... I would much rather deal with just pain than have to deal with the aura. GRRRRR......

Normally the anxiety resolves itself within a few weeks but this time it has persisted and continues on. Could it be caused by the morphine? This is my thought but the pharmacist said he didn't think it was. Also my doctor is suggesting 8 tylenol a day to replace the morphine. I am so skeptical of it being adequate though I know I can manage less than the 60 mg of morphine now. What are your thoughts?

I am not sure what the circumstances are that surround your situation, but I do know that strokes are caused by a blood clot or a brain bleed. My mom just had 2 strokes and they actually gave her a morphine pump for her head because it hurt so bad. I do not think they would have done that if there was a chance it would cause more strokes. Keep doing your research though, I guess you never know!

Hello! I wanted to thank you for the information on Morphine. I neglected to mention that it was not the hospice nurse but the nurse from the nursing home. We will mention this. I know that they use a Fentanyl (hope I'm spelling it correctly) patch and morphine by mouth. They were giving him the patch with Vicodin but I guess because his pain was increasing they switched to Morphine. We are due to have a conference this week. Again, thank you!

I would be on the safe side and go get checked out. Morphine is a really strong drug especially if your pregnant.hope it all turns out good.

Still have four more herniated discs from degenerate disc and also stenosis. Lots of pain but 150mg Morphine a day does the trick. Willing to give antidepressant a try......

Morphine is a terrible one to quit ct....and I doubt that the Doc would want to prescribe enough Norco's to do the job...make certain the taper is long and slow....nausea and vomiting are solid w/d symptoms. Stay well hydrated unless you like your fluid I.V. - most of the MS prescribed outpatient these days is MSContin - morphine sulfate continuos release.

He was very nice and helpful. He gave me morphine extended release 30mg tables and I need to take those 3x a day. I asked him about pregnancy and this medication. He said that there is always a chance of compilations. He said he has seen several patients that have gotten pregnant on this medication, some have tapered off of it and some continued to stay in this medication.

Hi..I'm new here and hoping that someone might be able to answer this question. Can Elavil be used as an effective means to releive morphine withdrawl symtoms? I'm about to go down that road and I know the agony of withdrawl from morphine and don't want to go through it again...or at least as bad as it was before. I have decreased my morphine intake from 150mg a day down to 90mg within two days.

Ultrasound showed me at 5 weeks. When I was 5 weeks I had a migraine and the er dr gave me morphine even after confirming the pregnancy. Could I be having a miscarriage and could the morphine have caused it? I don't have any pain just bleeding more than spotting.

I’m terrified to ask him because it’s my dear friends boyfriend and I don’t want to open up a can of worms for something that maybe didn’t happen. Is this OCD? I’m terrified this isn’t OCD and I’ve done this horrible thing. It would destroy a friendship I truly cherish and be the nail in the coffin for my own relationship with my boyfriend.

Upon much reflexions, I came to identify my OCD as psychosis and not OCD, i.e. i use to do wrong things (not washing hands regularly like OCD do or open then close the door or afraid from touching things) but mainly it was racing thoughts which my old pdoc took it for OCD and now i know it's symptoms of BP. So perhaps your husband is never OCD rather BP only with much racing thoughts. In the book it also says (wikipedia too) that for BP to be discovered by pdocs often takes a decade.

How hard on the liver is morphine I was just told 1/4 of my liver is gone. and the viroal count is over 17 million.

Well, first of all i know what i would tell your husband. Who cares what he wants or doesn't like. Look at the mess you are in. Sounds like you need to go and speak with a doctor and explain that you want to get off the morphine. Don't forget to tell him about this husband also who is obviously causing you alot of anxiety.

My husband is addicted to Morphine. I have never done any type of drug and I really don't know what to do to help. Every time I think I know what is going on I find out something else he has lied about. At first it was just taking the pills, then it was crushing the pills. Now I'm finding needles and spoons everywhere. He claims that he gets the pills down to liquid form and puts them in the needle and squirts it in his mouth. I just don't believe him anymore.

Sounds like you need a cleanse, antioxidants, probiotics, fiber and exercise. You can either blame the morphine or do the above and feel better.

First Tramadol and then vicodin, and now morphine and percocet. I continue to do a great job and produce fantastic products. My managers know about my chronic pain and are very accepting of the pain medications I take as they don't affect my job performance and they know that I am responsible with my meds. I am on 60 mg of morphine and 20-30 mg of oxycodone within percocet. I honestly think that you shouldn't bring up your pain meds at an interview unless asked.

s you will face, cause it seems like everyone has a little bit different stuff going on but, i am on a high dose of morphine and recently ran out of my pills and i am not kidding you when i say that you will feel like ****. i actually thought i was gonna die and that was just day 2. thank god i got my grubby's on some from my doc but, i didn't know what i was gonna do. please take care and maybe talk to your doctor about it before you do it.

They gave me morphine when I went into preterm labour on monday and it was awful. It made me really dopey and spaced out and I could still feel the contractions but obviously not as painful. The dr said next time I can ask for a half dose if I'd prefer not to be so out of it.

Second - is this a short acting (SA) or is it a long acting (LA) Morphine? 60mgs of Morphine is one heck of a one time dose. I would not take it. There could be serious complications, especially if you your system is opiate naive. Don't take it.

The morphine is actually much less problematic than the oxycodone. You should be comfortable taking the morphine and not the oxy.................

I have this 10 mg methadone pills,the morphine 100 mg extended release(Its a capsule,so I can open it and measure approximately,and morphine 30 mg immediate release. I really hate the sweating of the abstinence,is there something that helps it?what other drug(benzos or else)can help me to stop? I have time, and I'm not running out of the meds,but really want to quit...help!!!
