Avatar n tn I'm so very sorry for your situation.I will keep your family in my prayers. You posted on the social side and that doesn't see as much activity as the substance abuse side.Go to the top of this page and hit Substance Abuse Addiction Community, right above post a question. Then cut and paste or re type it and post on that side. You will likely get more responses that way.I wish I could help, but I just don't know.....
Avatar n tn Doctor has evaluated him and states that pain is due to neuropathy and has not completed ultra sounds or any other tests. Patient is on morphine, baclofen, diazepam, lorazepam, ducacete, lactelose, senna, prn oxycodone, iron, vitamin d &c, protein shake, and other drugs. Should we continue to accept the diagnosis of neuropathy for his continued pain? He has a previous history of infection due to super pubic catheter. No infection at current date.
Avatar m tn I've been on Zoloft just 1 week so far. Today, I started feeling a little better. I read it can take up to a month to work. I cut my dose of Lorazepam in half to see how I would feel and so far so good. I've been to counseling for years. I think the Lorazepam caught up to me as I'm not getting the benefits I used to out of it. Hopefully, the Zoloft alone will work eventually. Thanks for responding!
Avatar m tn For example, in natural medicine the thing to add would be passionflower and hops or kava or something like that, which if they work will do what lorazepam does without the addiction problem. There would also be dietary and exercise and meditation changes involved, a whole body approach as opposed to a one remedy cures all approach.
Avatar f tn Is it,and How, dangerous is it to take Percocets and Lorazepam together? My hysband takes both for back pain. He is also on an antidepressant......Should I be concerned?????
Avatar m tn I gave him back all my 100 mg morphine and all my hydromorphone and asked for a lower dosage. He then gave me 30mg twice a day for a week...that was okay...I could deal with it....But now I don't have any of those left. I am okay for about 2 or 3 days and then the withdrawal symptoms get really bad (and I take another 100 mg capsule--I saved about 10 of them)...I am cold(freezing) all the time, terrible bouts of depression, and then I get gross body movements happening..
Avatar n tn I've had dilaudid in my pump for the past 4 yrs. Morphine wasn't doing the job. Dilaudid is no more effective. An MRI and X-ray confimed the cathiter from the pump had been placed properly.I also had a trial with Prialt and it too was ineffective in pain relief, but didn't cause constipation as did morphine and dilaudid.Because of it's expence and the fact that it didn't provide any more relief than dilaudid,I went back to dilaudid.
Avatar f tn t know how many ambien as well as some tylonol3 i think, on top of his regular meds of hydrocodone and morphine! AND HE is angry at me because I took all his meds away and throuhg the ativan away....we are both in recovery or at least I thought we were....I don't know the best track to take concerning this situation...right now he hates me.
Avatar m tn Can you take Melatonin and Nyquil with Venlafaxine ER and Lorazepam, or would that be a big mistake? I need sleep desparately!!!!
Avatar n tn Lorazepam and Ativan are the same medication. Ativan is the brand name, Lorazepam is the generic.
Avatar f tn If there is no contraindication for taking depakote and lorazepam, they may tell you to go ahead and take your normal dose of lorazepam but to contact your doctor ASAP. Make some calls and you'll soon be back in control.......you'll be fine. And either find a new doctor or let this one know that when it comes to medications, anytime they add something or change something......
2206935 tn?1373638605 doctor gave me lorazepam also.will it help me relax and sleep good?? thanks..
Avatar m tn t take the edge off stress and worry and the no sleep. You hit it exactly, heard so many lorazepam horror stories making more uncertainty. I take 1/2 to 1/4 of a 5 mil only at night for fear over problems. my current Dr doesn't seem worried about adverse effects. If it wasn't for the insomnia i would try to tough it out without pills. Have read many of your posts,a beautiful blend of information and compassion.
429209 tn?1224166589 over those 5 years, knew NOTHING about this drug other than it was what my doctor prescribed for me for my sleep issues after trying every other single thing out there on the market, both prescription and OTC and natural....began at .5 mg....because your body gradually builds up a tolerance to this med, it takes more and more to achieve the same goal....so after five years, i was taking 3 mg and even that wasn't helping as much anymore.....knew it was time to get off of them....
142722 tn?1281533616 He called in Lorazepam. Is this med. addictive? It is for my bipolar. He said it was short term. The dose is 1mg and it says to take it when very agitative.
Avatar m tn The script stopped and our mother became miserable with insomnia, anxiety and depression. And we never ever saw the Mom we always knew. My sister and I regret it to this day. Mom died of cancer at 87. At the time she was taking TylenolPM every night for sleep. Her doctors in Florida gave her Ambien for a good reason, she had insomnia. And we had no business messing with her delicate balance of medications prescribed to make her final years comfortable.
6168959 tn?1379392259 HI, I take prozac daily, but still have panic attacks and real unease throughout the day. my doc put me on lorazepam to help with it, and said take @ 1 mg pill 3 times a day....it helps, but makes me so super tired! is this normal procedure for doctors? the prozac is the best antidepressant i think i've ever been on...makes me feel alot like myself if you know what i mean, but why am i having to pair it with lorazepam? am i wrong in thinking prozac is doing such a great job?
Avatar f tn By consulting with your doctor or a psychiatric medication manager. We are not doctors here and cannot tell you how to taper off a medication. But taper you must. Do not just stop cold turkey.
183202 tn?1219853659 My psychiatrist said it was fine, and should not hinder the effects of Lorazepam enough to deplete its effectiveness. Yet I always here: "Don't take caffeine and avoid it at all costs!!" Yet lately I have not been getting enough sleep and resort to caffeine to wake me up since there is nothing else I can take. I try to steer away from the higher-caffeine containing sodas and drink Coke or Dr. Pepper, which has less than per se Mountain Dew.
Avatar f tn You must speak to a medical professional, we can't give you any advice regarding medications. Anti-depressants and psychiatric drugs can take time to work, there aren't instant cure pills. With all the meds you are taking, call your doctor or at least speak to your pharmacist.
Avatar m tn Hi, I've been on Lorazepam and Codeine for just over a year. About 4 months ago my doctor put me on half/half Methodone & Codeine, when I complained about codeine's strength. Then I dropped the codeine. After about a month, because of side effects, I tried to go back to Codeine, but had problems sleeping, So, For the last 2 months I've been on about 30 mg. Methodone, and about 10 mg. lorazepam daily.
Avatar m tn I have been taking a lorazepam to sleep for many months now and it used to work great. I also take fluoxetine, lamotrigine and singulair daily. Anyone heard of this or have ideas? Thanks.
