Avatar f tn Can't be much worse than the lady next to me crying over a gravol shot and popping Percocet when I was in the hospital. Heck, they'll give you morphine if you need it. I, myself, would try avoid narcotics at all cost. (Yes, codeine is a narcotic).
Avatar n tn I'm 14 weeks pregnant. Second baby. Iv had alot of gallbladder attacks at least 3 a week. They can't take it out apparently so I'm stuck suffering until I have the baby. The doctors give me morphine and gravol. Has any other moms gone thru this and is everything okay with the baby?
Avatar f tn Once the piece of bread came out, and I had received some gravol and ALOT of morphine, I finally felt better. Since then, I have only eaten puddings, yogourt and other soft foods. My other GI issue, is that I often wake up at night, choking on vomit that has been aspirated into my lungs, causing coughing and shortness of breath. Could these 2 symptoms be related in some way? I had a barium swallow, which came out normal.
667015 tn?1268595478 Hi hawk Im on perk's aswell and im on the morphine patch my sleep is also messed up for the last three years, my doctor gives me lorazephan to sleep but sometimes if i dont have them i take gravol believe it or not it can knock alot of people out.. Avatar n tn - Trigger point injections / Nerve block At the hospital ER (for a 10/10 headache or anything beyond a 10/10 headache, i call those headaches "suicide headaches" or for a severe headache that has not responded to home-treatment for days or a moderate-to-severe headache that has not responded to home-treatment for weeks): - IV hydromorphone (2mg to 4mg to start depending) - IV fluids (1 liter I think is what they usually give...
Avatar f tn When I had ON - a year after MS dx - I went to the ER because of the pain they agreed based on my symptoms and MS dx that it was ON, treated me with morphine and toradol for the pain which really just helped me sleep off the worst of it, and IV steroids which worked quickly for the pain and blurry vision. It's important that your doctor(s) know about this episode, so that you can be treated for it, and because it may provide important information to aid in the diagnostic process.
Avatar f tn I was given IV fluids with added vitamins and potassium when there were issues with low urine production, as well as Gravol, Pantaloc and Morphine. I have been released from the hospital as I can keep some fluid and foods down but am still struggling. I am unable to take any medications in the Stemetil and Maxeran family due to a sever allergy. I have a barium swallow test coming up on Monday and after the results of that may be sent to a gastrointerolgist..
Avatar f tn i'm addicted to gravol really bad, i take 30 or more daily plus methadone at 50 mg and this is administered by my pharmacist, he doesn't know about my gravol addiction, i'm lost and don't know what to do
Avatar n tn the LAST thing you want is morphine side-effects, which are extreme nausea and stomach upset and vomiting... hydromorphone has NONE of these side-effects, so it is much better for migraine treatment. it is also a billion times stronger so make sure they do NOT give you any more than 2mg as a starting dose... otherwise you might end up feeling worse than when you first went into the hospital... trust me, being high is NOT fun. all you want is relief from your symptoms...
996658 tn?1249675169 I am the process of withdrawing from dilaudid and codeine and am feeling really sick. Is it better to just ride it out or would Gravol help. Any input would be appreciated.
6530778 tn?1456883801 Absolutely talk to a doc. So often we just take pills to treat symptoms and it is SO important to discover what is actually causing these symptoms. I promise you will not go through withdrawal from Gravol. Who told you this? I have taken regular dosage of it (2 every 4 hours) for periods of time and then stopped when I no longer needed it and felt nothing. I've also been on IV Gravol in the hospital for up to 3 weeks, and stopped once the problem was fixed and again- no withdrawal.
Avatar n tn Do they exacerbate nausea? Also, I'm wondering about Gravol Ginger. Any downside to using ginger root? I can't handle regular gravol. Too dopey.
Avatar f tn Ned few days I was still having pain felt very sick and just uncomfortable, and Thursday morning woke up throwing up with this pain so went to the clinic at my hometown and again Hooked up to ivs for hydration, gravol ad morphine, had a ultra sound blood test and all that, then was told I had the flu and given a prescription for Percocets for pain, very weird I thought, knowing this wasnt the flu within a few hours of being home I was at the er and waited from 11pm to 7am and finally got a room
Avatar f tn Ive taken gravol for almost a year on and off , the last 3 months i have been taking a large amount. I have taken 70 pills in the last 12 days. I realized i had an issue , and just didnt know how bad the withdrawls etc would be. i havent taken any gravol for 2 days now and plan to quit. I feel like absolute garbage right now. I cant eat , i can sleep , but all i want to do is sleep. which is very hard considering i have 2 children and work full time.
6530778 tn?1456883801 Hi there- Honey, you and I have been talking for a long time. While I am not refuting the fact that you have a psychological addiction to Gravol (people can be addicted to anything) I have to STRONGLY say again that you will not have physical withdrawals from Gravol. I have taken Gravol on and off for nearly 2 decades. I have Crohn's disease and endometriosis and both these illnesses cause crippling nausea.
Avatar f tn I've been taking up to 75 mgs of percocet a day, and at night up to 75 mg of morphine. I would take 7.5 mg of Rhovane (sleeping pill) every night as well. 2 years I've been on this stuff, and it's ruined my life. I don't even know where I begin, and the drugs end. Chronic shoulder pain is what made me start, but life's challenges alone is what kept me on them. About a month ago, I decided to get off these pills.
Avatar f tn They monitored me for an hour and gave me a shot of morphine and gravol because they also thought it was from my gallbladder. The NST had issues picking up my contractions. So at 10pm they were getting ready to discharge me again as I was still 1 cm dialated... Then my water broke mid contraction. And it did come out in one big gush! We all know only 25% people experience water breaking...well, it's even less when baby is face up. Instantly, I was 3 cm dialated.

6530778 tn?1456883801 Hi honey, you're back! I think I mentioned before that Gravol taken at this low of a dose is not going to make you feel withdrawal. I've taken gravol for years off and on for nausea associated with my Crohn's and other illnesses. I've stopped when I don't have nausea and have had NO withdrawal effects. And I've taken MUCH higher doses than you. I really believe that it is an underlying medical condition causing these symptoms.
6530778 tn?1456883801 ( I also think the gravol is causing anxiety. I take half a pill every night just to sleep and I have been taking for 2-3 years. I feel so depressed just because I think I'll never be able to quit. Help please!!
Avatar n tn Ok, so as stupid as this is going to sound, because this is not why I started posting on here a few weeks ago, but I took 300mg of Gravol last night...long story, but basically today I am sooo anxious. I feel like my skin in crawling and I can't sit still. My arms are also tingling like there a sleep. Is there anything I can do (no meds please) that will relieve the symptoms? funny thing is my fiance...who was addicted to Oxys, suggested I go the the hospital!!! lmfao!!!
Avatar m tn If you have no reason to need the Gravol physically, it is probably time to see a therapist. What you are describing, the panic and the tears and the worry in advance, is all mental/emotional, and probably what causes you to reach as a knee-jerk reaction for the drugs and to assume you must have them. An addictive personality is why some people go for drugs (or shopping, overeating, drinking, smoking...
Avatar f tn Tylenol regular strength is the only safe thing....your doc may also allow gravol but never take gravol with out talking to doc.
Avatar n tn Ocasionally ginger tea will take away symptoms of vertigo and seasickness (and airsickness). Use thin slices of fresh ginger, steep for twenty minutes, and drink three to four cups a day.
6530778 tn?1456883801 Where do you buy the gravol? I presume at a pharmacy and if so, you can ask them what its effects are and how to quit because pharmacists have lots of experience with everything they sell.
