Avatar f tn I was given flexeril and tramadol for muscle spasms due to herniated discs. The tramadol did nothing for the pain, I was able to receive some relief from motrin instead. I can't take stronger opioids because they make me nauseous. Morphine doesn't work for me either. Are the two medications related?
Avatar m tn t sleep because of these constant muscle contractions in my legs and back. Last week the dr. gave me Flexeril, the muscle relaxer to help sleep. It works well but leaves me so groggy the next day. the last few days I have only been taking 1/2 or even 1/3 pill, it takes longer to sleep, but still works. Last night I tried without one and the muscle spasms were worse. Does anyone know if the Flexeril is actually causing these to last longer than they normally would?
Avatar n tn I just recently got married to the love of my life and quickly after we got married my husband has become severly addicted to opiates. It started with vicodine, then norcos, then percocet, now morphine (highest perscription). He goes to work and sleeps. We have no marriage. Im so young and feel like I am alone. There has to be someone out there going thru the same thing?
Avatar f tn I use a combo of darvocet and 1 of the 2 muscle relaxers (zanflex during the day and flexeril at night) and that provides enough relief to allow me to function.
16830625 tn?1451815389 I think over the years I have tried just about everything I could find on Google I am on Neurontin for my diabetic neuropathy in legs and feet, and the doctor gave me Flexeril and Norco at first, then when I called to get refills (AFTER) he got my MRI results back I told the nurse I didnt want the norco because they didnt help so all they gave me was more flexeril which *****.
454371 tn?1221297385 i know i exercised and did not have them..but i know u aint gonna get out and walk girl...so anyway....flexeril is good for cramping cos my shoulder cramps up on me...they make me very sleepy tho...trams do take the edge off of detox for many....not stong enough to stop detox and i am not recommending them as people do get addicted to these...i am lucky i guess and did not...i took a half here and there..especially at night when i had the sweats...
Avatar m tn I have hashimotos By the way. I am asking because i am hanving jaw tension and pain now and want to take the flexeril but i am afraid it might trigger my hyop tyroidism.
1460652 tn?1340248730 then i was involved in a car accident and was prescribed flexeril 7 days ago. the palps started 30 mins after the first pill. i just thought it was stress from the accident and "oh great, the skips are back"...until they became debilitating, and my bp dropped to 90/50, where as it is usually 115/75.i went to the dr. AGAIN and he said to go see a cardioloist AGAIN.
Avatar m tn My big fear is epilepsy Oxy use to make me shake and bite my tongue but since i been on 200mg Lamictal it has stopped I read Flexeril may cause seizure but then I also read the opposite. Even if I am not epileptic I like to play it safe as my Doc is out, and the pharmacy worker never seems to know anything. So does Flexeril increase seizure risk or is that just for (diagnosed) epileptics? I don't want to add it to the oxy and have a attack.
Avatar f tn I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi again has anyone tried Flexeril (muscle relaxant)? Any bad side effects and did it help pain , I have I guess myofascial pain. Any trouble with withdrawal gettnig off of it?
232328 tn?1207090071 I used flexeril for back pain, and to be honest it did nothing...The doctor told me it was going to make me sleepy and it did not...It is a muscle relaxent... I ws on the 10mg dose.... So then he switched me to zanaflex, and i can only take it at nite because it makes me knock out....I don't take it all the time, only when my back is hurting as i think that one can be addicting i am sure others will give you their experience on it!
Avatar f tn My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?
1415174 tn?1453243103 m going again tomorrow to perhaps get off of flexeril and maybe get a monitor to take home. Has anyone had this happen to them when on Flexeril? I noticed that the skipped beats got worse with the supplements i'm on too but don't know if these should cause such an event.
Avatar f tn I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!
Avatar n tn Spoke with her recently and she is still having the same symptoms -- taking morphine 2x/day and Lortab for the breakthrough pain with minimal relief. The major muscle goup on the front of your thigh is called the quadriceps (actually made up of 4 different muscles) -- the main mover (rectoris femoris) is actually a knee straightener and a hip bender. At its shortest point, the hip is bent with the knee straight.
Avatar f tn ER visit xrays showed nothing was broken. I got a shot of morphine, and pain med Rx. I was told to take ibuprofen and rest. I missed a week of work and saw a chiropractor for PT and adjustments. Things were a little better. Contined to have on and off symptoms, so my doctor did prescribe a dose pack of Prednisone, Flexiril and ordered an MRI. Blue Cross insurance denied it. Last night I was back in the ER for the pain. Gave me paid meds and Flexiril and told me bedrest.

Avatar n tn a little more info but the short answer is yes with a prescription and yes if it is available in the home and yes from friends. Do you take flexeril? Who suggested it? What does your child need it for? I ask this way because of the ongoing epidemic of Prescription drug abuse by children who get it at home or from friends who get it at home etc. And you did good asking but better to ask your doc. So fill us in and put your pills in a secure Secure place! Looking forward to hearing from you.
Avatar f tn took more than I was ever prescribed... and actually tried to go off of it completely( without doctor supervision) and almost died... for the past 1 1/2 years I've noticed the morphine sulfate is just not working anymore ... I take my meds at 7:30 every morning and by 1 to 2 o'clock in afternoon.. my pain is excruciating and intense, bp is through the roof and heart rate is high......
Avatar f tn In case you are curious, it takes us about three to four days to get a patient off of any opiate including Morphine, and feeling well. We withdraw you from all opiate under sedation and initiate long-term naltrexone therapy ti ensure protection from cravings.
Avatar m tn I am on Flexeril for the back pain. The use of Flexeril made me unemployable on top of my condition and meds. I try not to take the Flexeril unless my back seizes up. Typically that will require a three week cycle, and then once my back is no longer giving me extreme pain, I stop taking it. Like the Valium, I take it as needed. I will not even drive on Flexiril. I use Fentynal 100ug/hr. Duragesic patch and change them every other day. They do not last three days.
Avatar m tn Hi, my husband is disabled with chronic severe back/leg/hip pain from multiple failed surgeries and and one of his pain management meds is Flexeril, that Clean mentioned. He too gets wicked muscle spasms and takes the Flexeril for that. It helps him. I am an opiate addict (for effect) but do get bad lower back pain at night, probably from carrying 60 pounds on my small frame during pregnancy...and I am getting older.
Avatar f tn You are right, certain medications particularly muscle relaxants and antichlinergics, interfere with the results of EMG like baclofen and flexeril or cyclobenzaprine that you are taking. It would be prudent to apprise your neurologist of all the medications you are on, so that the EMG results are appreciated in that light. Muscle biopsy can be taken up after an EMG. Consult your neurologist for his preferences and expertise. Take care.
