contractions

Avatar f tn I had way more than 6 in the past 40min but still painless... I called l&b and they said if my water hasnt broke and baby is moving I can just stay home...
Avatar f tn It's more than one contraction within that hour that lasts three-five minutes apart I'm already 3cm dilated as of last Friday
Avatar f tn Well I went in, my contractions were about 5 min apart but not strong. I'm 4 cm dialated. They let me go home cuz my contractions slowed after I got there but they checked me and now I'm all crampy and uncomfortable. Blah. Still contracting but not as often.
Avatar f tn this was just your mucous plug. Labour could be soon, but it could also not happen for a week or more. go to l&d when your water breaks or your contractions last more than one minute, come consistently every five minutes, and keep this pattern for an hour.
Avatar f tn They say the hospital should take you if you have more than five in one hour. But some doctors say to go to the hospital if your contractions are five mins apart. If it were me as soon as I counted six contractions in an hour I would go in.

964234 tn?1331949207 d they said to call if i felt more than 5 in an hour. some people say more than 4. but if you are having a lot the best thing to do is make sure your hydrated, empty your bladder, and if your resting get up and walk around and if your active lay down and rest. my childbirth instructor said BH will go away 100% of the time, true labor contractions will not.
Avatar f tn Try calling L&D explain to them what's happening. They might have you go in and get checked. Better safe than sorry.
7249862 tn?1392252689 m gonna be going to the hospital shortly real contractions are five mines apart they get stronger and stronger if there five mins apart for one hour and there getting more painful it's the real deal braxton hicks are irregular and usually will stop if you lay on your left side or drink water congratulations btw =-)
Avatar f tn With my first I had back labor (felt like someone was crushing my spine) and the contractions were what you see in labor movies where mom's are in one position looking very concentrated and in pain. It was painful but well worth it. My second I didn't have back labor (felt like Braxton hicks with slight burn) I was walking and talking throughout my contractions even when I was pushing. I am pregnant with my third and I hope I don't have back labor again because my second was so easy.
5492154 tn?1374801006 Update: more contractions today dr said if they get painful or I feel more than five an hour come on back in :/ wish I could catch a break I have two sick little boys too
Avatar f tn Lay down and Drink some water. Get out a watch/ timer and time them from the start of one to the start of another. If it's five minutes or less and don't go away after an hour or 2 of laying and drinking water, or you notice bleeding, then call your doctor and see what he/she wants you to do.
Avatar f tn I was induced and I had about an hour of contractions before they put an epidural in. After the epidural I didn't really feel anything but pressure so the induction wasn't that painful at all for me.
419158 tn?1316571604 For the past few days I have been having quite a few of them, more than 4 an hour. I have never been in labor before 5 cm. I usually slowly dailate up to 5 cm through out my pregnancy with the help of BH and then wham! When I go into labor its fast, the last 2 babies have come within 3 hours. I dont want to go in just to be sent home, honestly I dont have the time for that right now, I was just checked May 1st because of a ton a BH's and I havent started to dailate yet.
Avatar f tn If you are having them every five mins go to er now.You shouldn't have bh more than four an hour and should not be regular.
Avatar f tn Those 5 hour energy were my savior the first 6 days! They really do work, I took one in the morning on my way to work and another one mid-afternoon. Now I'm finding that coffee works great too (I was never a coffee drinker before). Also I started taking a vitamin called "alive" for women and it's great, I've really noticed a difference. I got it at wal-mart. Great job on 9 days!
Avatar f tn If they are a minute long, five minutes exactly apart for at least one hour, call the doctor or go in. You can start contractions before your water breaks. Also if it is painful, those are real contractions. Braxton hicks contractions make your belly hard but shouldn't hurt at all.
Avatar f tn You shouldn't have more than 4-6 in an hour, however you can have multiple ones a day. If you're still early on it would warrant being looked at. Make sure you're not overdoing it, and keeping hydrated. Lack of fluids can cause contractions and cramping as well.
Avatar f tn 8 days left for me in a hour ive tried just about everything i just dont have the heart to do castor oil i will save that if i go past due:/
Avatar f tn They say to follow the 511 rule. Contractions five minutes apart, lasting one minute, for an hour. Idk if you'd want to wait that long since you're only 34 weeks. Try walking, changing position, warm shower if it hasnt gone away then you might want to go to the hospital.
Avatar f tn 4-6 or more regular contractions in an hour are probably more than by contractions. If you've had regular contractions for 5 hours you may want to go get checked out tonight and not wait.
Avatar f tn Okay, so Iv had atleast five contractions in the last hour and a half, about 8-10 minutes apart.... but they I haven't had one in about 20 minutes.... can it be the start of labor???? I'm 38 weeks!
Avatar f tn long. And will come more often in the hour and are more painful than the braxton hicks.
Avatar f tn Time your contractions if you have contractions that are less than five minutes apart, a minute long for more than a hour then go in. Especially if they get stronger or more painful.
Avatar f tn m not sure seeing as how I still have 5wks left but my friend just had her baby and she said something about the 1-5-1 rule... One contraction every five mins for one hour straight is a good indication you should go...
Avatar f tn Your pains should be about one minute long, and five minutes apart. You count them from the moment a pain starts to the moment the next pain starts. That amount should be five minutes. And each pain shouldn't last more than one minute.
