I took Montelukast (Singulair) for about one month and began having extreme nightmares and panic attacks. I stopped the montelukast immediately, and the nightmares stopped. But the panic attacks continue. I know others have had similar reactions, but I wonder if anyone has found out how to make the effects go away? I have been off the medication for over 3 months now.
thanks for the info. Just so you know, I'm taking 'Singulair' (10mg of montelukast sodium daily) for allergies. For preventative purposes, my doctor prescribed me to take a puff of a 'Diskus' inhaler a day (50 mcg salmeterol, 250 mcg fluticasone). Also I take 500 mg Vitamin C supplements every morning. Those are the only meds I take routinely.
A few years back, I was prescribed 90 10mg Lortab per month. I took them for years then I had to go into the hospital for narcotic abuse and did not start taking them again until July 2008 when I got a prescription of 90 10mg pills. Hi - for anyone with the tickle in your throat that yields an annoying, hacking, unproductive cough... I found a solution to this (at least for me) last year. It has been LIFE CHANGING! No more sleepless nights and annoying coughing fits multiple times per week. Solution for me was: a medication called Montelukast (it's the generic of Singulair) and it treats post-nasal drip (which I had for some reason).

I have been to several ENT specialsits but all of them prescribe me nasal sprays and a montelukast tablet at night which really doesnt help.
Symptoms:
1. Constant thick white jelly mucus feeling like its coming from the back of my nose.
2. Balance issues : kind of like swaying motion.
3. always drained out and feel like sitting down all the time
