Common Questions and Answers about Monopril suture

monopril

Avatar f tn i have been on monopril(fosinopril) for many years- and it also helps to protect the kidneys. since starting Tx my BP spiked, and they added Tiazac.

It should be noted that this research was not done as a clinical trial but rather an 'observational study' where older adults with Alzheimer's or other forms of dementia were being studied. About a quarter were on ACE inhibitors and they observed this benefit.
Avatar m tn Suture site reactions refer to allergic-type, inflammatory skin reactions that some cats and other animals develop because of the type of suture being used in the surgical incision repair. Basically, suture site reactions are immune-mediated inflammatory reactions that occur when the cat's body decides to reject the foreign bodies (the sutures or stitches) that the vet has just implanted into the skin.
Avatar m tn And a couple weeks after surgery i puled a internal suture from the incision area, and about a week later i pulled another internal suture string from the incision area again. Where the staples were on the outside. Should I worry. I wanted to hear from somebody other than the surgeon who did the work.
Avatar n tn I agree that it needs to be looked at more closely but would disagree with the "get stitched up" comment. Bleeding from the incision three months out is most likely due to a residual suture that is serving as a nidus of infection. Your body can't completely fight the infection if there is foreign body such as a suture present.
Avatar f tn A bit of history for you, i gave birth to my son, alexander, naturally at 23wks, he was prem and passed away (bless him), i then fell pregnant with my daughter, I had a cervical suture put inplace but needed a c section due to bleeding and breach, i then fell pregnant ith my second son, once again, cervical suture and c section. I would just love to have the suture removed at 36wks and be left alone! what are the chances?!!??!
Avatar f tn The tiny red lump could be a stitch granuloma that can result secondary to the fibrosis around the suture that was not completely absorbed (in case an absorbable suture was used during the lumpectomy). With this, wound healing will be impaired until the non-absorbed suture is removed. After 9 days, the wound should be healing well already, if not completely healed. You should go back to your surgeon to have it checked. Good luck.
Avatar n tn s lip.Accidentally the suture needle stabbed my finger.I squeezed my finger and a little bleeding, then I washed my finger. The patinet denied he was an HIV positive.I know the rate of this way to get hiv is about 0.3%.The suture needle is solid.I want to know am I at risk?
Avatar f tn I had a small, brownish, triangular item come out which caused bleeding for a couple of hours. I was told it was probably a suture clip. Should these come out? should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn Thanks for your question. For sure you should bring this to your surgeons attention. Suture material may be a bit slow to absorb in this area so this may be nothing more than protracted inflammation as a consequence of persistent suture material. Still 8 weeks is getting a little far out for persistent inflammation so I am certain your doctor will want to know you still have a painful spot on the perineum.
Avatar n tn The fragment was removed two weeks after the original surgery and a single suture removed four days later. Now, twelve days after the surgery, my vision is 20/40, and what I have found is a decided worsening of astigmatism since removal of the fragment. I am concerned that 12 days after the first surgery my vision was better than the same time lapse after the second surgery. Is that to be expected? I am also concerned about the possibility of irregular astigmatism.
Avatar m tn Is this a normal result of the eye needing to heal after the suture removal or possibly something else? The doctor had said he had to make a large wound to get ReZoom out.
Avatar f tn Currently, I am using only the Clobetesol once a day. Does anyone have any experience with Vicryl suture allergies? I should add that the incisions themselves are raised and feel hard. So far, the incisions are clean and have had no drainage or sutures popping through.
Avatar n tn You could ask him what kind of suture he used. The most common suture that people have problems with is Vicryl suture. There are other dissolvable sutures that are like it, braided multifilaments, but this one seems to be what most people have had a problem with. Though, it is used in almost every closure, which might account for it being the most popular one seen to do this.
Avatar f tn (. Other than the suture the buckle was perfect he said. So I am just praying it dissolves quickly so the pain goes away.
Avatar f tn A coincidental finding on my CT today said persistent metopic suture. It's the suture that's vertical on the front middle of your head that usually goes away before 10 yrs old. I haven't been able to find symptoms, but did say there may be complications with frontal surgery.
Avatar m tn intolerable pain when gauze threads get stuck in suture spikes.i thought suture sites should be rather painfree by now,but burning sensatio and pain stil remains no swelling ,no redness ,rather clean, doesnot look infected, contacted my doc,he said its normal. 8 days too long for suture sites to be painful and sore.
Avatar f tn This can be avoided by feeding the end of a 0 polypropylene suture through the groove on the inner curve of a Lockhart-Mummery probe. The other end of the suture is again passed through the tract, leaving both free ends at the external opening. This creates a loop at the internal opening through which a vascular sling is placed. The suture is drawn through and the sling tied loosely. The knot is secured with a silk stitch to prevent it slipping.
Avatar m tn i think my experience is alittle different than everyone elses. i have been on monopril for many years for high BP- and was OK to take the hep c Tx. however while on Tx my BP rose again, and they added tiazac as well. BP is now maintaining well, and 42 weeks into 48 everyy things looks as if it is working well.
Avatar n tn It helped considerably but several months later after it seemed resolved there were 2 lumps that seemed like perhaps a suture or fragment of a suture left inside. It was itchy and irritating. One of them worked its way to the surface of the skin near the suture scar and opened up and looked like a staph infection. I was treated w antibiotics but they didn't help it and it didn't resolve.
Avatar f tn Since my vitrectomy/ERM peel 7 days ago, no scleral buckle, no other complications so far for which I am very grateful, I have had sharp pains in different areas of surface of the eye every day. This I am told is due to a suture that may take up to 10 more days to dissolve. Tylenol takes the edge off but doesn't relieve pain entirely. Feels like there are pieces of glass in my eye. When I sleep I get relief. I am taking drops 4 x per day - Pred Forte and Zymar.
Avatar f tn We have consulted with out vet and they have placed a purse string suture with hopes to hold the rectum in. They have tested her for parasites several times and all have come back negative. We have dewormed her 2 times with panacur We put her on laxatives, painkillers and a hypoallergenic diet by (royal canin medical) They took her suture out after being in for 7 days and shortly after she prolapsed again.
Avatar m tn The left hand corner of my eye has an exposed suture of the buckle. I should consult with my kaiser doctor again to see if I need to remove the buckle, or go for some conjunction closure procedure. He says when the suture is exposed like such, it's more prone to the whole buckle getting infected. He also said that that's what's probably causing the growth of the blimp-like scar tissue.
Avatar n tn It would take a huge blow to the eye and it would have to rupture the globe for the gas to get out of the eye unless there was a suture line leak. The bubble usually looks like a light or dark circles that moves with the head and obscures vision within the circle.
