Mobic vs relafen

Common Questions and Answers about Mobic vs relafen

mobic

Avatar f tn Hi... I was diagnosed with ostearthritis & fibromyalgia a few years ago...and have been taking mobic since then, which has worked. About a month ago, the mobic didn't seem to be working as well.. my hands were hurting a lot at work... so I went back to my dr & he changed my medicine to relafen for the osteoarthritis & lyrica for the fibromyalgia. Although the lyrica seems to work, I'm not liking the side effects, puffy hands & feet & eye twitching...

Avatar f tn There are a lot of different drugs out there to help with pain and inflammation and it sounds to me like you need to ask your doctor about exploring them. Have you ever taken DMARDs such as plaquenil or rheumatrex, NSAIDs like relafen or mobic, other biologics like remicade or orencia? With everything that is going on it is normal to be depressed and with that comes lethargy.
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
Avatar f tn He took an x-ray and found nothing. Prescribed Relafen and call in a week. This is seriously ruining the intimacy in my marriage and I don't know what else to do. Hopefully the next week will be telling. Any one experiencing the same problems?? What did you do??
596955 tn?1281293915 Do people get hooked on relafen? Which is harder to get off of oxy5 or norco5? my dr. just switched me to oxy and I feel unsure about getting more hooked then I am. I am tapering off the norco, but if I rum out before I feel good I will have to take the oxy. I have been taking 3 to 5 a day for many years. I have about 20 norcos left.
Avatar n tn I was talking to my girls friend over the phone for couple of hours and got exited and started masturbation my self pushing & hitting real hard on the pillow for 30 to 45 Mins and erected finally. The next day i was started having pain in my root of the penis. I visited the doctor he gave cipro and relafen and oxicodon for 3 weeks.
Avatar m tn My doctor wrote me a script for Mobic to help with some nerve pain. Im wondering if anyone knows if its similar to tramadol at all, Im hoping not, but anyone who has any helpful info please let me know. I cant start back on opiates again for the pain and Ive heard too many bad stories about tramadol to even consider it as an alternative. Also if anyone knows of anything that helps nerve pain, Im open for any suggestions. Hope everyone is well, thanks.
Avatar m tn I am currently taking a prescription pill for back pain, call relafen . Since the E.N.T. doctor couldn't do anything for me I was wondering about seeing an allergy specialist.
Avatar n tn Does anyone know if mobic is addictive? My doctor switched me to them today from loratab. I am glad because the loratab really is addictive and I would rather not have my body relying on anything. I have been on the loratab for a little over a year now and I feel like crap if I miss a day and go without it. Not only am I in pain (because of female problems and my back) but I feel like I have the flu. How long will I feel that way without it? since I switch my meds today.
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
Avatar f tn Yet another update to those who are helping... I had the injections yesterday and so far no issues other then Im a bit sore and a little loopy because I cant seem to remember anything because of the Niravam they gave me, to keep me calm during the procedure. Afterward the Doc gave me Relafen 500 mg with 2 refills. take 1 every 12 hours. Then told me he wouldn't be giving me any more Vicodin or other such meds because they have long term side effect, huh????? I go back in Feb.
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
Avatar n tn First, go to an orthopedic doc, not your general practice doc. Get xrays, especially a standing xray if it's in your knees or ankles. My doc started me on Relafen (sp?) and physical therapy- The pills take the edge off the pain and the therapy will (hopefully) help strenghten the muscles around my joints. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Hi. I have a positive ANA 1:16 speckled pattern. I have been having pain in both of my middle fingers with stiffness, but more in my left hand. Both of my knees have been painful as well. The pain in my knees are similar to the throb of a toothache. I have plantar fasciitis in my right foot and capsulitis in the 2nd metatarsal of my left foot, therefore, my feet always hurt terribly. I feel like I'm getting the flu (achy). My hips just ache all the time.
Avatar n tn My rheumatologist has me on relafen but said I cannot take ibuprofen with it for knee pain that I'm having. What can I safely take?
543791 tn?1216381777 I was diagnosed with chronic esophagitis after taking relafen to rule out a muscle problem. My problem started with an inflamed abdomen and the doctor was not sure what was causing it. He prescribed relafen, I developed the burning symptoms. My symptoms sound like yours, burning and pain. The burning was so bad, I felt like I was waking up after surgery. The burning began in my throat which spread to my stomache. I too was given Nexium with little relief.
Avatar n tn Clonazepam is good for pain and sever back spasms.
1044813 tn?1370494406 Sure, we can add Mobic/Meloxicam to the Pain Tracker for you. In the meantime, please use NSAIDs, since meloxicam is a type of NSAID and this is already available on the tracker.
Avatar f tn I was just prescribed mobic and I just wondered if it's afdictive
Avatar n tn SAIDS like Ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Naprosyn and Relafen provide relief. The medication should be started 2-3 days before the beginning of the periods and continued till the end of periods. Because the therapy is for short period, the risk of gastrointestinal side effects is very limited. Take care!
Avatar n tn I have had 18 pt visits (traction now up to 32 lbs.. does provide relief temporary,(24hr) also take mobic.. recently prescribed a home traction unit.. confused as if this is right treatment..
Avatar m tn Furman next month he said he will run some tests again. When he first tested me I was taking Relafen, this has stopped, but I now take neurotin, and verapamil. I also was taking Effexor when he tested me but no know. I recently started Cymbolta. I also take anti-vert now. Could that effect the results of the second doctors tests.
