I was taking Ibuprofen for years and the pain in my knees was intollerable and I was confined to a wheel chair. About a year ago I started taking 1400 IU of Vitamin D and stopped the ibuprofen totally, my arthritis was doing MUCH better, even started taking short walks, however, recently, I had an injury and started taking Ibuprofen.....now my knees hurt all the time. Can Ibuprofen deplete vitamin D?

Mobic is an NSAID pain reliever (same class of drugs as ibuprofen, motrin, aleve) and not a narcotic so the addiction potential is very very low. You should be fine as long as you have no stomach issues as NSAIDS tend to aggravate those symptoms or if taken in excess, create stomach problems. Good luck to you! I think the Mobic is a much better alternative to pain management than any narcotic.

I take lisinopril myself for HBP and have done so for decades. I've never used naproxen except maybe once or twice. One Rx that might possibly be of benefit for arthritis instead of naproxen is meloxicam, also known as Mobic. I use it occasionally with no ill effects to report.

Please tell me the side effects and potential problems when taking all of the following medications by prescription: Cymbalta (60 MG), Hydrocodone-Acetaminophen (5-500 MG), Ibuprofen (800 MG), Mobic (15 MG), Oxycodone-Acetaminophen (5-500 MG), Plaquenil (200 MG), Xanax (0.5 MG).

My OBGYN and RE told me that any type of anti inflamatory such as Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and prescription ones like Celebrex and Mobic can keep you from ovulating. If doing IVF, it can also affect you. During the retrieval they may be able to get many follicles out but may be unable to get eggs out of them. Talk to your RE if you need pain medication.

07 that now I stay in shade and use higher SPF sunscreen. And, of course, at that magical age (50) where this stuff appears. I wonder about the Mobic and was brought up on Arthritis Community. BTW, all labs are normal while on Mobic except for the Vit D. They test ev. 3-6mos Kidney function, etc. 24 Hr is normal, too.

i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.

I wanted to update that I recently have had problems with pain in my right shoulder, received two shots. And a prescription of 800 mg ibuprofen. which has done nothing for the pain. the dr. then decided to try me on a 30 day pack of Mobic. which is a arthritis medication. I do have that in my neck. it was after 10 days of taking this stuff that I noticed this strange bluish , purple an bleeding under neath each of my large toes. its very very strange.

50 mg and yea motrin 800 doesn't work for me either and is rough on my stomach but mobic(that's the non generic name for meloxicam) is only 15mg and doesn't bother my stomach.

I have a question about Osteoarthritis and the pain that comes with it. Last November I had 5, 6, and 7 upper vertebra fused together and feel so much better in that way BUT i can't take anti inflammatory medications for my Osteoarthritis, Tylenol doesn't even help a bit and non of the arthritis over the counter meds help either. My question is... is there a non narcotic pain medication that I can take every day? I am 45 years old and very healthy besides my arthritis. thank you!

Great information. I've done the OTC meds and that's what took me to Mobic/Meloxicam. My doctor did the preauthorization and that's what was denied. I don't even know if Celebrex is going to bet miracle. I will go to their website and see if I can get some discount coupons. Just for general information to anyone that cares..... I have seen a top gastroantonologist (spelling) who killed the myth about Tylenol and liver function.

I tried that not long ago but was unable to tolerate the ibuprofen and NSAID drugs due to a hiatal hernia, reflux, and stomach bleeding I am trying the Mobic for pain while withdrawing from the methadone which is a ibuprofen drug, once again the Dr. didn't listen to me or read my medical history of having blood clots in my legs and that I have Hep C.

This is a new symptom I am experiencing with my depression and don't know much about it. I was wondering if anyone else experienced pain with their depression, and how is it treated.

I have also spoken with many others , even who use heavy narcotics, and who say they are happiest with Advil, or Ibuprofen, and it works just as well.

My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?

I was on Mobic for a year or so and never had any issues besides stomach pain (which any NSAID's can cause) I get stomach pain with any NSAID's. Mobic wasn't really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex.

Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic,for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??

I've called several Orthopedic Clinics in my area and they have all told me that ribs are not part of their specialty. I can accept that, but I don't know where else to go. I noticed the ribs were assymetrical about 7 or 8 years ago, while I was in college. It didn't hurt too much, but I went to the free clinic on the campus to ask about it any way. The doctor told me to take ibuprofen if it bothered me and, in so many words, to stop wasting her time.

Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.

I have been to a doctor for my pain and other symptoms. He ran blood tests to check my rh factor and started me on 15 mg mobic/day. The blood tests came back ok. The mobic didn't seem to help at all. So now he's thinking I may have fibromyalgia. He told me to stay on the mobic (which I decided to stop taking since it didn't seem to help at all) and also started me on Savella. After two months, almost, of tests and seeing various doctors and specialist, I've been diagnosed with Osteo Arthritis in the lower back and right hip. For this I've been prescribed Meloxicam/Mobic for the pain and inflamation. The data sheet that came with the prescription details some pretty nasty potential side effects. I normally don't have too much trouble with meds but this stuff is potent.

The inactive ingredients in Meloxicam (MOBIC) tablets include colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, and sodium citrate dihydrate. So, the sodium content should be in very minute quantities. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.

I've taken Mobic and Hydrosil as prescribed by my doctor because of my right knee discomfort last month. I immediately stop taken it after my right foot started to numb and tingling the next day. The problem still exist and it has been one month already. Why is it like this? Also, I've been taking Vitamin B complex supplement from that day onwards and it seems not working until today.
