mixing methadone and vicodin

I have started taking Methadone on occasion. This morning I took a 10mg Methadone and this evening I took 3 10mg Hydrocodones. I am experiencing a ton of breathing problems now. Does anybody know if this is a bad mix. I was taking 10-15 10mg vicodin a day. I know it has to be tearing up my liver. Does anyone else have a problem like this?

I understand that it is not good to mix drugs with alcohol, but I would like to know of experiences with mixing those two drugs, lexapro and Vicadin, alone.

About mixing methadone and klonopins.....well here is my story...... i was on meth, and buying klonopin 2mgs.... well one day , actually night i took like 8 or 10mgs. of them. The next day on my way to the meth clinic i was fine. After i took my 85mgs (at the time) dose, well no later than 10 minutes went buy and i knew i was about to black out. I had to drive 20 minutes to the clinic. so i stopped at a friends in the area to do some coke to wake me up....yeah...i know....

My problem is that I have a horrible toothache and have taken two aleive pills and still hurting so bad. Can I take a 5mg Vicodin to get some relief? My methadone dose is 60mg a day through a controlled clinic.

Just be careful mixing the methadone and the benzo. Benzos and methadone is a deadly combo. Make sure you listen to the others and call your pharmacist or ask your doctor.

Please, speak with your doctor about tapering and quitting. Methadone is not the answer and you will regret being on it. And no, you cannot become addicted after two doses. Best of luck.

Hi and welcome to the forum....well I was on methadone for 6 1//2yrs and also have bipolar disorder so taking antidepressants was a fact of life for me...I had good luck with celexa will taking methadone...very little side effects mixing the 2 together but all antidepressant are not the same...I agree with mr lucky on asking your dr he/she should at least know your on the methadone...

I have already caught him once mixing klonopin and his methadone. But I am still very suspicious that he has do so over the week end at his parents house. I was just wondering if you could advise me as to what signs to watch for if I don't catch him right away. Like what the normal side effects within a day or two after that I would be looking for.

I grew up with a father that was a pill addict and I always said I would never be that person and here I am trying to get vic out of my system. I am on day 6 (NOT 7) 8-) and I was using 10/650 about 10 a day. Now as far as WD you are going to go threw some and its no walk in the park but very doable, I am the biggest baby when it come to any kind of pain so believe me if I can do it so can you. Remeber the whole anna nicloe thing. well her son died from a heart attack due to mixing anti depressents and methadone. I would think the dr. or the pharmacy would know but you never know and must check into this further. I am not trying to scare you but i specifically remember that his death was due to a combination of those exact two things. Good luck and boy is she lucky to have you looking out for her!!!

Mixing benzos like xanax and methadone can be deadly...an overdose without a warning.

History: back surgery 15 years ago. No problem quitting vicodin. For 10 years had maybe 3 prescriptions. Then 5 years ago had a friend who had an endless supply. He also had methadone. To make a predictable story short, I have been trying to quit for about a year. Tried suboxome which I found out was 50 times stronger than vicodin (and people wonder why they can't quit that???). I am now a big believer in the Amino Acid therapy and Dr. Gant as well as the Thomas recipe (I combine both).

i am a recovering heroin addict using methadone as my my recovery method and i have diabetes 2 and take insulin daily as well, i take 100mg methadone liquid and 20 units of Humulin N type insulin once nitely. during the day i seem ok and around 5 or 6 pm i start to go thru withdrawls really bad to wher i want drugs so far i forced myself to go to bed and havent used again i been clean since the day after thanksgiving this year a few months.

t know my options and went on to Methadone to quit the Vicodin. The Methadone treatment lasted 5 years!! For a one year problem it took 5 years to fix. It was so wonderful to be free from everything eventually. The Methadone was worse than the Vicodin. I stayed clean for years. Even was prescribed Percocet and used them as directed and was done. I had painkillers prescribed to me from Doctors and never touched them. Never filled the prescription.

if you take methadone how long after stopping before any other kind of opiate will work? i've been off methadone for about a week and i found a perc 10 last night and took it. i know i should not have done that but im an addict and i could not help myself. i thought methadone made it so no other opiates would work but i swear i think i felt better after i took it. was it all in my head or did it really help?

I have previously asked a similar question, and would like to ask again to show some more results an answers for my SO, for someone who has been on methadone treatment for two and a half years and is tapering off, (down to approx 30 ml now), how dangerous is taking 6 mg of Xanax daily (for about a month but on and off ofr six months along with his methadone)?

Did your doctor prescribe you this? I have known some people who have taken medication issues into their own hands with really bad results, but if you are doing it under your doctor's orders (and he/she knows about your current medications and history) then I would follow what he/she says. Another good reference for questions is your pharmacist that fills your prescriptions....keep us posted!

i have withdrawled from vicodin before and that wasnt so bad just alot of the *****!! i hope this will all be okay and i wont have bad side effects and my body will be ok! i have a 8 month old and 3 year old and they need there mom and taking methadone while it helped with my pain it also made me sleepy and not want to do anything!

I used to be on 150 mg of Methadone a day but cut way down to just 30mg/day and it was so tough! Now I'm mixing just 10mg of Valium with the current Methadone. It that mixture safe?

can someone pls tell me if im mixing the wrong medications? i take seriqual and methadone and i dont feel well at all, i can barely move half the time i cant stop crying shaking freaking out on people! throwing up! i cant stop shaking my body is heating up from the inside out i feel delusional! im a mess! i dont want to take it anymore? if i stop taking it can i get through it??? can anything make it easier?? i believe this stuff is making me feel worse than i ever have felt in my life!

i tookalot of perc 10mg and a xanyx and 10mg of methadone..am i gonna b okay? feel fine just a lil anxious,but i was in alot of pain from a car accident still feel the pain but not as bad????

Does the doc who prescribed the Methadone know you take Klonopin too? Methadone and benzos mixed together is typically not recommended, due to the risk of respiratory depression, and even respiratory arrest. That being said, in some cases, docs will be okay with the combination if the doses are small enough, and if the medications aren't taken all of the time, or are taken short term. This is something you definitely need to discuss with your doctor before mixing them again.

i've seen a hundred times that mixing those two is very dangerous. i'm no doctor, but i myself take methadone and once i took a valium, i've never felt sicker!! i do believe it is very dangerous. . .

My question is, has anyone heard of lyrica causing withdrawal symptoms when taken w/methadone? I was given Tramadol(Ultram) w/ methadone and thought I was going to die with the interaction it caused!!!

Welcome to the forum. How long and why did you go on vicodin? Your still on a fairly low dose. Although I have never taken methadone, I can almost assure you, your trading the vicodin for something that is so so much harder to come off of.
