Common Questions and Answers about Mixing ambien with wine

ambien

Avatar f tn You're mixing three meds that aren't supposed to be taken with alcohol, let alone with one another. And did you know alcohol interferes with sleep? If you stopped drinking so much and took up exercise or meditation, you might find the ambien can go, too, and the Zoloft would have a better chance of working.

Avatar n tn warning labels another. Is the only risk with taking say half an ambien tab (5 mg) after having a glass of wine, increased drowsiness? I read some reviews that say taking ambien with alcohol can be fatal; would this be for large doses or volumes of alcohol?
Avatar f tn Hi y'all! I just got signed up here I'm not got a addiction yet lol that's why I am wanting to ask everyone if someone could help. I just started pain management yesterday for thoracic outlet syndrome I'm in physical therapy I go two times a week and am trying to do anything to keep me from surgery. But anyways the pain doc I went to was a big butthole to me since he has never heard of what I have he almost didn't help even tho my thoracic doc requested me to go to him.
199177 tn?1490498534 t like this kind of news, but we need to hear it. Prayers will with her and family. And a lesson on mixing things together. Reminds me of another person - myself. I was so close to history. Many odd and unusual things happenned for my wife to happen to find me at the correct time when I was passed out and not breathing.
Avatar n tn Hi Grarro, It was my understanding that you could drink moderately with most ATB's. But to double check I did some searching on the internet. The following is from a trusted web site. BEGIN QUOTE: "There are many myths about mixing alcohol and antibiotics and most of them are just myths and nothing more! It's one of the great myths that mixing antibiotics with alcohol can seriously mess you up.
Avatar f tn I'm not sure how long you've been using ambien. I used it for 9 months while on pain management with vicodin. I'm now off of both, but much to my surprise, the vicodin was much easier than the ambien for me to kick. I kicked vicodin cold turkey in February and started an ambien taper mid-march. I just finished with the ambien taper. Ambien can't be stopped suddenly; depending on for how long and how much ambien you've used.
Avatar n tn If so, you are not helping yourself with taking these above medications with alcohol, if we are speaking about a glass of wine or a beer it's not the greatest choice but not all is lost. If you speaking about drinking frequently then you are not only not helping yourself but you are putting your mental and physical health in danger. Please don't do that to yourself, surely your aim for taking medication is to get well, not the exact opposite.
Avatar f tn I agree ask your doctor. I wouldn't, but if you decide to risk it, try mixing it with juice to dilute it a lot. I don't know how big your wine glass is, but maybe a splash of red wine with a cup of juice? Something so you get a little flavor but not enough to hurt the baby? I only say this because I've heard of other moms doing it.
Avatar n tn If this person is already tolerant to the opiods then there is less of this side effect happening. Mixing Xanax with opiods and the sleeping pill is a dangerous combination, especially in high amounts.
Avatar f tn Percocet is very habit forming, mixing these drugs with out your Dr. advice may be dangerous so you may need to see him or her. Tapering will be your best way to slow down the dosage, dont try to quit cold turkey it could do you more harm than go. Get help let us no how your doing.
Avatar n tn the norco u can stop..the ambien if only after 2 nights u can stop...talk with ur physician and find an alternative that works..the seroquil mentioned above works for many with severe insomnia...ambien will not help bad insomnia only occasional sleepless nights....and u never know which drug will hit ur "button" and cause u to abuse it...for me it is narcotics..for some benzos and others ambien...
Avatar m tn I would NOT recommend (imo) mixing Ambien with anything, especially a benzo. Thats like playing russian roulette with your life. I know how you feel (really) but you're just going to ride this one out hun. I just got off Norco after 5 years use (basically synthetic heroin, 33 days now) and couldn't sleep the first several days. That's just how it goes. You can try some natural sleep agents like melatonin, green tea, etc. The first 10 days should be the hardest.
Avatar f tn I was feeling much better and pretty good until this morning. I woke up with severe anxiety and feeling crazy again just like I did when I had started the Zoloft (I had some start up anxiety). I have been drinking about two glasses of wine per night... Sometimes more than that. Am I becoming tolerant of Zoloft or could it be cumulative effects from the alcohol? Please help.
988694 tn?1332359479 It really not unrealistic to blame the thyroid when consuming wine. I found red wine reacted harder on me and still does. While wine wine seemed to be milder to a degree. It also depends on my body cycle on how much I can consume. Sometimes I can take in a bottle - sometimes a glass gets me uncomfortable. This volume goes with not just wine - but beer or mixed drinks. I don't have a solution or answer as to exactly why but there are some theories and research.
Avatar m tn Well first of all Im not sure that you should have been mixing the ambien and xanax. Both are fairly strong stuff and because of that even short term use can cause rebound insomnia. Also quitting opiates will cause insomnia. So unfortunatly you will just have to suck it up if you want to get off of all of it. You wont sleep well for awhile but it will get better. Either that or take your ambien at night and slowly decrease it.
