773214 tn?1295135069 Does anyone know if there is a higher risk of another miscarriage after having a d&c vs. a natural miscarriage? Has anyone gotten pregnant after having a d&c with a successful pregnancy?
Avatar f tn I had a d&c with my first pregnancy, I had a missed miscarriage at 11weeks..then I got pregnant again 3.5 months after and had a healthy little boy!! Now here I am pg again :) Don't loose hope!!!
Avatar n tn I currently have a 2.5 year old daughter, I was very ill with the pregancy but carried her full term. During delivery I bled out severly but no cause was found. Since than I have had 3 miscarriages; one at 11 weeks (no heart beat, followed by D&C), one at 8 1/2 weeks (severe bleeding partial miscarriage followed by D&C), and the latest one in December of 2007 was at 5 weeks (no D&C no explanation). I have had a work up plan and the results were way over my head.
Avatar f tn Personally I would choose to wait a week or two to see if my body did it naturally. Recovery wise and risk wise I believe it's much better for you. IF that didn't work I would request the pill next. D & C would be my last option. I've had a d & c and I've had a natural miscarriage...I FAR prefer the natural way even if it means more cramping...there's less risk involved.
Avatar f tn Has anyone here ever had the D&C procedure done after a miscarriage? Did You become pregnant again? How soon after?
Avatar f tn Hello friends, I've been following these boards for a while now while I was going through my own MC looking for any and all info that would help me with my own decision of which option to choose with my recent missed miscarriage - and though you don't know me - I want to thank all of you strong, dedicated women that were of help to me when I thought I could no longer pull through... your stories helped endlessly.
1679574 tn?1316036696 Hi Ladies, Do any of you know if there is a difference in sensitivity between First Response Early Detection HPT's and First Response Rapid Results HPT's? A little background: My husband and I have 2 living sons (ages 3 and 2). We suffered our first miscarriage on April 11, 2011 at 15w2d (baby only measured 11w2d). I had a D&C the next day. It took 7 weeks for my HcG levels to return to normal and a week later I started my period (8 weeks post D&C).
Avatar f tn What is a d/c iv seen it mentioned a few times here and I just would like to understand what people are talking about ?
Avatar f tn I had to have a d&c my doctor didn't give me the option. My baby just didn't grow I didn't have any signs at all just when we went for the u/s the tech seen it. Then my doctor had to do a biopsy for any cancer.
Avatar f tn Like if... Your baby dies and you have a miscarriage. They dilate you then clean ya up there.
Avatar f tn I recently was pregnant and made it to my first US at 8 4/7 weeks. Unfortunatly I was told it was not viable. I had no out of the norm cramping..(or what I thought was normal) and no bleeding up to that point which made the news even more devastating. I had a D&C shortly after. I was told that this is fairly common. I know many have had this loss and I would like to hear about their experiences. How long were you told to wait until you could start trying again?
Avatar f tn Those of you that were told you had a miscarriage and the dr suggested a d&c (but was completely wrong) can you share your stories. What made you not go through with the d&c? At how many weekd did you hear a heartbeat?
Avatar n tn My LMP period started around 8/12. I am 41, 1st pregnancy. I've had two dr appts, results below: First u/s and blood test on 9/24. The u/s showed a sac and yolk but no fetal pole. HCG level 28,100. 2nd u/s on 10/6. The u/s showed a sac, yolk and now “a group of cells which is the baby” (they did not use the term “fetal pole” and I’m not sure if it is the same thing or not). But now there was no hb detected.
Avatar f tn My qustion is that D&C is necessary for every women in order to get pregnant?
1509498 tn?1332872936 I believe there's something new published that states if it's a natural miscarriage vs a D&C that there is no problem with starting immediately. Waiting is mainly recommended just so you know 100% that it's a new pregnancy, to allow the lining to build to a proper amount and for more accurate dating purposes.
741877 tn?1265950200 Blood types are not a factor for miscarriages/stillborn. I asked my doc this past week when I had a miscarriage then a d&c. I have had a total of 3 miscarriages...2 started naturally and the third started naturally but then had miscarriage. The only thing that plays a factor is the Rh Factor. You since you have the - behind the B are Rh -. Since you had the shot you should be fine to carry a baby. It's only if you are - and you don't get the shot...
Avatar n tn Took me 4 weeks after my d&c to stop showing positive on a pregnancy test and another 2 after that to get pregnant. If you are worried contact your doctor and have them check her levels to see if they are rising or falling.
Avatar f tn Has anybody gotten a d&c done and got prey afterwards and had a super healthy pregnancy?
Avatar f tn forgot to mention there is a medhelp group specifically for women who had miscarriages and there are lots of people on there talkinga bout and discussing D&C's vs natural delivery vs medicine induced delivery......just look under miscarriages.....
686040 tn?1267294857 Im so sorry for your loss, and yes, i ccan relate to that empty feeling. I had a missed m/c on june12th and i waited one cycle(drs advice) and we are still ttc and still nothing yet. There are a lot of women on this forum who got preggo right after a m/c. I have aunts and cousins who gave birth and at there six week check up was preggo. I say if you are physcially and emotionally ready go for it, im sure some of the women who got preggo b4 first cycle was still grieving their loss.
Avatar f tn Im sorry for your loss. Your cycle and body will be abit off after a miscarriage and d&c, its very normal, your hormones are leveling out. Depending on what your hcg level was before the d&c will depend on how long it takes for your cycle to return, the weeks doesnt matter so much. Say your hcg level was 45,000 then it could take a month or more to drop back to 0, if it was only 500 then might only take a week. Bleeding and cramping are normal after a d&c.
Avatar f tn I didnt do anything about the miscarriage thing. I guess it was a natural m/c. I had my menses on the 17th oct n it just ended on the 21st of oct. Does that mean that I'm totally clean n can get pregnant soon? I hope to get pregnant soon..
348660 tn?1230402173 I had a missed M/C and D&C of twins in Dec......I had every test ran possible, even a pathology report on the 'tissue' from the D&C and they found nothing.......My Doc told me that some women are just not able to carry twins, and of course multiples are always a little more risky than singletons.......Not that it makes it any easier.......
