1222208 tn?1307696161 Trying TTC after miscarriage in January. Anybody over 40 TCC or pregnant naturally???? Am I too old to keep trying??
Avatar n tn I forgot to say I'm sorry about your miscarriages; I know how painful those can be! Also, the other thing an RE can do for you is monitor your progesterone if you do conceive and give you precription progesterone if it's low (as it often is in women over 40). Best wishes to you!
Avatar f tn ve read are fairly accurate when you are over 40 and trying to get pregnant. I am basing this on my personal experience. I can get pregnant pretty easily but because my eggs are so "old", I keep miscarrying. NOt to mention the risk for downs syndrome is very high like 1 in 60 for my age. I've gotten pregnant 5 times and each and everyone was a miscarriage...most like because of my age. I've been trying to get pregnant for 2 years and finally we used donor eggs.
898530 tn?1268618782 Hello, just wanted to know how the pregnancy went for some of you that may be 40 or over such as myself. The doctor has warned me of possible pre-clampsia and possible premature labor but I wanted to hear some of your stories and your experiences of those of you that have gone through it and lived it. And if possible, any advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated!
Avatar n tn I am 40, NOT trying to have a baby but found that I am pregnant. Its going to be ok, but I have a lot of questions. * is there a place on this forum (or another) that I can get support instead of people insulting me for having a BFP when I was not trying to conceive? *What risks are there for me at my age? *Should I be concerned about multiples (twins, etc) *I had faint lines at 20dpo (or 4 days late when af should have arrived) Is this normal? * Is it ok to lose weight?
1763430 tn?1315610403 Im 40 and met this great guy who is 34yrs old. We love each other so much and plan to start a family soon. I had a miscarriage last year from a previous relationship and I have told these to my present BF and he was okay with my past, adding that he appreciates my honesty. What Im scared about this time is if I will still have a chance in falling pregnant amidst my fribroids (I have fibroids which my OB says wont pose any problem in conceiving).
Avatar n tn I've just turned 40 and had a miscarriage last november and again 1 week ago. I'm scared of this happening again but I also believe we have to keep trying until we succeed. I'd love to hear success stories from women who have shared a similar experience as I need to stay positive and not give up.
Avatar f tn Implantation bleeding is only spotting and not red. There is no way to tell if you are pregnant other than to take a test. It could just be that your cycle is off a little which can happen occasionally. If you are pregnant then red bleeding needs to be reported to your doctor. If it is a miscarriage then you should pass clots and the bleeding will get heavier. I would suggest that you go to the doctor. First step is to find out if you are pregnant or not. Good luck!
Avatar n tn From the reading I've done, it seems like the IVF success rate for women over 40 is low. I just finished Lupron and I'm starting the stimulation phase. Can anyone over 40 share some success with IVF?
Avatar f tn Is anyone else over 40 and are trying to get pregnant, but can't.! And you just feel devastated, because you try and try and nothing... And DH sometimes just to tried to even try when you want him too. I've been trying for 6 months now and still nothing.. Had a MC last year in August. Trying for baby #3 my oldest son is 14 and my youngest daughter is 13 .. Just wanted to know if anyone else is trying but can't.
Avatar f tn Anyone else a first time mom and over 40 weeks?
8720413 tn?1408306012 s crazy because I had a threatened miscarriage at 8 weeks, then at 20 weeks they thought I was going to lose her because I have an incompetent cervix and had to have a cerclage put in. The doctors never thought I was going to make it as far as in did in my pregnancy, now my little girl won't come out!
413852 tn?1317308712 Hi I am 40 and have been TTC for 5 years now. 1 blocked tube and fibroids. I finally got pregnant in Feb with meds and IUI but had a miscarriage due to poor egg quality they say. I am not giving up though no way no how. I WILL get pregnant again except this time my baby will stick. I wish us all the best of luck and if we keep the faith we will get our BBCB.
Avatar f tn Ok so now I that I know the numbers on the forum represents age and not weeks of pregnancy..lol..I had two miscarriages last year and got pregnant on my 40th bday...happy 40th to me! We had been trying but not this last time because of the miscarriages.. Anyway, I've had an ultrasound..everything is good..felt baby move since 13 weeks pregnant..I'm still nervous about having a miscarriage.. Avatar n tn Hi, I know 2 people over 40 who have had their first babies recently. One was 40 and the other 42. Good luck. I have 1 son who is 17 months but recently had a m/c and an ectopic pregnancy within 11 weeksof each other !!!! I still feel that I can get pregnant and the secret I guess is to keep going.
Avatar f tn Unless you've had a miscarriage this late before I wouldn't worry too much. Things get less stressful when you can feel the baby move, but even if you've only hard the heartbeat at the doctor's office that's a good sign. Risk of miscarriage drops significantly once a heartbeat has been detected.
Avatar f tn Ive had 1 miscarriage about a year ago and I recently found out I was pregnant again. Is it weird that im over protective with my belly? Like I dont wanna stretch too much or slightly get bumped. What should I be eating? Or not be eating?
Avatar n tn I had two mc, the first Mc was said to be normal at 7wks...the second was at 10 wks, and this time round I wanted to know what is causing the miscarriages...they did a bunch of tests and found out I didn't produce enough progesterone hormone to help with the growth until the umbilical cord could take over. I got pg again and was under hormone therapy during my first trisemester then the second I was off the meds. Was nervous at first but got better....
Avatar f tn Progesterone simply helps elevate your levels, and miscarriage caused my low progesterone is not the same thing as miscarriage caused by a chromosonal abnormality. The fact that your 40 is really not a big issue. I am 39, and hoping to bring our first child into the world still. We are actively trying to conceive. None of the Dr.'s I have seen have had any concern about this whatsoever.
