I am 10 weeks pregnant. I went in 3 days ago to have an ultrasound to see exactly how far along I was & to get the baby's measurement. Then I was 9 weeks and 5 days. The sonographer could not detect a heartbeat. I emptied my bladder & she then doubled check. Still there was no heartbeat. I did fear the worse & asked her what was wrong with my baby. She told me that she couldnt state anything & I can talk to my dr. I was in tears.
Hi, I had trasvi U/s and it was find out to be close to 6 weeks pregnant but no fetal heartbeat and maternal heartbeat is just normal up until today 80/min. I feel as usual as if im not pregnant. another is that im diagnosed with subchorionic hemorrhage that made me very susceptible to miscarriage. I was given pregnancy support medicines hoping in 2 weeks heartbeat and fetal activity will be viable.
I saw my babys heartbeat at 5 weeks & 4 days. Everything was fine.Had my 3 ultrasound at 9 weeks & 2 days no heartbeat.. I had what's called a missed miscarriage. I would go to the hospital and make up something so you can get an ultrasound right away..Hope everything is fine...

I'm pregnant with my second child and i've been having some problems i was cramping quite a bit about two weeks ago i stop bleeding two days ago i was told that i might be at risk for a M/C but the blood was dark blood and it wasn't heavy at all my cramps ween't that bad but noticable i went to the emergency room again and they didan ultra sound and they said they see the fetal pole but there was no heartbeat i'm so scared is their anyway they can be wrong i have no symptoms
It is very likely that you have had a missed miscarriage if there is no fetal heartbeat found on ultrasound at this stage in your pregnancy. The hcg level isn't really relaible in making a diagnosis at this point, because it had been almost 3 weeks since your last level, and you can't really determine the rate of rise with that, and you also don't know at what point the fetus stopped developing.
I do lots of reading when I'm bored..and I came across this. It's just something to keep in mind when you go in..so you'll know what to pay attention to.

5 ½ to 6 ½ weeks is usually a very good time to detect either a fetal pole or even a fetal heart beat by vaginal ultrasound. The fetal pole is the first visible sign of a developing embryo.
gestational sac but no fetal pole or heartbeat. Did bloodwork and a week later another ultrasound...where they saw all that they were looking for. They said sometimes when you are that early it is just the matter of a couple days in being able to see the fetal pole and heartbeat. And my bleeding was due to the egg implanting on a bloodvessel. So I am currently 33weeks pregnant. I hope this is the case for you and that everything works out!
To me its still a miscarriage no matter how u see it but if I would of had the US earlier it would of saved me heartache.
If I were u, I'd ask for a regular US.
Hi! I am 6 weeks today and on Friday I went in for an early ultrasound (big mistake). I was 5 weeks, 5 days and all we saw was the gestational sac and yolk sac. There was no fetal pole or heartbeat yet. I wasn't really expecting a heartbeat but I thought for sure we'd see the fetal pole. I went in for blood work (because of a miscarriage before my son) last week and the week before and my HCG has been doubling (most times tripling) like it should.
hi, it is very common to see only the fetal pole and no heartbeat this early. I went in a 5wk2d and saw the fetal pole but no heartbeat. I went back at 7wks and heard the heartbeat.
I was told by the doctor that until 12 weeks, the yolk sac is responsible for producing progesterone to sustain the pregnancy. After 12 weeks, progesterone is produced by placenta and the yolk sac dissappears.
It is possible that they missed the yolk sac.
Hello everyone I went to the doctor for another viginal u/s and they sd that they still can not detect a heart beat sd that I've had a miscarriage. They say that I'm it measured 7 weeks but I'm 12weeks. That would make about a month with no fetal heart beat and my body has not miscarried it self yet. I still use the restroom alot and I have my craving and I've gain weight since my last visit.
Went in for my 15 week appointment and there was no heartbeat on the doppler. So, my OB did an ultrasound and there was no heartbeat and the baby was not moving. My doctor wanted to be sure, so she sent me next door to a specialist who had "better" equipment and he came to the same conclusion. I opted for a D & C later that afternoon. That was our first pregnancy.

htm which says that if fetal pole measures 5mm then it should 6 weeks and 5 days and should be able to see heartbeat however my nurse said that they can only see heartbeat when fetal pole is above 8mm. i have another scan coming up.
