Common Questions and Answers about Miscarriage no eggs

miscarriage

Avatar f tn Can I still get pregnant naturally after a miscarriage w/ diminished ovarian reserve. I'm waiting to hear back from the doctor about any chromosomal abnormality with my miscarriage. If it comes back positive, does that mean all my eggs are fried? I know at 40 y.o. my chances are not the same as when I was younger. But I met woman 3-4 years older with a healthy pregnancy. Thanks for your support.
Avatar f tn I had a miscarriage nearly 3 wks ago no I've had no.

Avatar f tn you cant have runny eggs because there could be bacteria in the eggs and only way to kill it off is to cook them all the way.
Avatar n tn t drink or smoke and there was no answer for my fertility issues. We were able to retrieve 25 eggs in the second cycle. we now have nine frozen. My question is-I am nervous to do IVF again and am wondering what my chances are that I will miscarry again.
1564481 tn?1295164879 One fresh cycle, one frozen, and one fresh. The latter was done dec 2010. I had 14 eggs retrieved and 11 fertilized, they were 5 day old eggs. On week two after transfer we had a POS blood test. My numbers were going up my HCG during week 3 was 600. The end of week 3 we went to the dr for a sonogram and bloodwork. The tech didnt see anything on the sonogram but our dr said that it might be too early still to see anything.
218177 tn?1240140219 By the time women start having periods in the early teens, there are only 300,000-400,000 eggs left - from birth onwards the poorest quality eggs undergo a process called atresia where they die off. The best quality eggs are the eggs that ovaries release earlier in reproductive years since these eggs are most responsive to signals from the brain to ovulate.
Avatar f tn e., no infertility per se) but its unclear whether you have any eggs that could become viable pregnancies. I am also facing this issue myself, even though I am younger. After 3, I am very hesitatant to try again naturally. I am going to a reproductive specialist next week, so hopefully they can give me some guidance. Even if you are not looking at donor eggs, I would seriously considering seeing an RE, they can give you some ideas of options.
218177 tn?1240140219 s cut off is age 43); apparently older eggs do not withstand the IVF process very well. Plus, the miscarriage rate at age 45 is 60-70%. So I guess I wonder if you were somehow led to believe the odds of the IVF working at age 45 were better? (I have a friend who went through 3 failed IVF cycles at 44-45; she really wasn't informed of the low chance of success.
Avatar f tn that's how fraternal twins are formed. the body produced 2 eggs that month and both eggs are fertilized and 'presto' there you have it. natural born triplets mean there were possibly up to 3 eggs that month. could you have missed pills and/or taken make-up doses or something like that? certain medications are also said to cause the pills effectiveness to dwindle.
Avatar f tn No matter what your age you have some eggs with chromosomal problems. The younger you are the less there are. That is just nature. Only youe RE can give you an opinion. How old are you? That will tell you a lot. I am 40 and I have been told that 80% of all of my eggs are now fried. I keep trying though. I could get lucky and have several perfect eggs or all imperfect. I did invitro Christmas - 4 embryos resulted and al were transferred -One took resulting in a miscarriage.
Avatar f tn One miscarriage does not actually increase your chances of a second at all. However, yes, we do have a slightly higher rate of miscarriage once we hit 40. Lots of women have successful pregnancies and for others it takes a little longer or a little intervention. I had 5 miscarriages, then a successful full term pregnancy at 40. He is 7 months old now and healthy as can be. Remember that odds are just that...odds. The only way to know for certain is to try. Good luck!!
Avatar f tn Sadly, us older moms to be do have an increased risk of first trimester miscarriage, primarily because our eggs are a bit older. However, you can still have a healthy pregnancy. Many do. Pam is right, sadly there is not much we can do to prevent first trimester miscarriage. Keeping yourself healthy is a good start. I am on progesterone supplements and I take daily baby asprin, but its certainly not proven that that will help. It doesn't hurt though, so I figure it's worth a shot.
Avatar f tn Your doctor will likely check your hormone levels, and if they are already fine and you are releasing eggs, there is no indication that you should take Clomid.
1874149 tn?1339551701 Hi. My 2nd to last round I only got 4 too and 2 fertilised but one was strong and I had a preg from that. Sadly ended in miscarriage at 9 weeks I know ladies on here who only had 2 retrieved and had successful pregs from them. Also those with 15 eggs and no success. It's all about quality not quantity!!
Avatar f tn I have just finished a miscarriage my 3rd (old eggs) yoiu sound like you are at the start so thats good news that things are moving along and you should be able to pass everything naturally, you will find that the bleeding should get heavier over a couple of days, the cramping you are feeling is you uterus shedding the sack etc, then your cervix should open a small bit, enough for the contents to pass and if everything passes, your bleeding should taper back off to period like bleeding, mine to
Avatar f tn Did your donor only produce 5 eggs, or is that all that fertilized. I'm 43 and I've had 2 positive transfers and than m/c at 6 weeks and I was told it was due to chromozomal disorders, which is what might had happened with your eggs. I'm looking into donor eggs, and with my doctor, I get to see the donors quality, and sucess rate with the eggs. Also I was told the donors usually produce around 20- to 30 follicles. Only 5 seems pretty low. Don't be afraid to ask questions.
Avatar n tn Prior to my getting pregnant naturally, the RE said my only real option was donor eggs. At the time of the missed miscarriage, he said he would be willing to try fertility treatments once I had had 2 normal cycles. The RE said he would NOT do IVF on a woman my age using my own eggs, so I guess we are talking about drugs/IUI (we see him this week to find out).
Avatar f tn The 1st cycle was not great....not a ton of eggs retrieved and none that made it to freezing. The 2nd cycle was a million times better....double the amount of eggs retrieved and I ended up having 4 that were frozen. I transferred all 4 eggs in a frozen cycle last month. Well, I was pregnant and unfortunately miscarried early. Has anyone had a similar history that ended up pregnant on the next IVF cycle?
584502 tn?1224120312 Age is indeed a factor. At age 42 there is a decreased chance of success and increased risk of miscarriage and chromosomal anomalies. While you cannot do anything about the age, you can do something about the weight. Good diet, weight loss and exercise can help fertility but age will still have an important impact on success of fertility.

Avatar f tn These were both FET cycles, and ended between 8 and 10 weeks. Does that make a difference? We have been using donor eggs as well. Donor was 30 when eggs were retreived. We still have 3 embryos left and have decided to give it one last try. What are our chances for success? Is there something we can do to help prevent another m/c? Since I have Endometriosis, I have been thinking that this may have been a factor as well.
Avatar f tn My RE basically says we can try it but there is a chance that a) none of the eggs we retrieve will be good or b) the eggs may not survive or split (not sure if I'm saying that right) for implantation. I know this is an older post. But I thought I'd comment on it in case others might have any thoughts on IVF with PGD?????
Avatar f tn I am a 44 yr old who just had a miscarriage. The pregnancy was a surprise although I have been trying for a year. I am not sure of the cause of the miscarriage and was wondering if it will be appropriate for me to speak to my OBGYN to discuss this. Also to know if I can try again soon to get pregnant?
