miscarriage

Avatar f tn Some meds can cause birth defects, learning disabilities, premature baby or miscarriage
Avatar n tn Yes, you have to take your thyroid meds when pregnant. If you become hypo, the risk of miscarriage increases as well as the risk of impacting your baby's development. Your doctor should be monitoring your FREE T3, FREE T4 and TSH levels very closely during pregnancy since meds requirements often change during pregnancy. Why do you not want to take your meds?
Avatar f tn I had a miscarriage in January of 2011. my doctor encouraged my husband & I not to do a d&c. He put me on a medication to "clean me out." After finishing the medication, approximately 2 months later I began bleeding. I continued to bleed for 54 days. The doctor attempted to stop this by putting me on birth control, completing an entire pack in 5 days, then starting a new pack the following Sunday to take regularly. The bleeding did not stop.
Avatar m tn Hi. Im 32 Ive had 9 pregnancies and 2 of those were miscarried. I am currently having a miscarriage. I am 14 weeks "pregnant" and the baby stopped growing at 10 weeks. I have very little blood flow and what does come out is brown. I still have not passed the fetus. What is happening... is this a normal miscarriage?
Avatar m tn i am concern is it normal to have a home miscarriage and doctor tell me no need for dc to take a pill instead.
780647 tn?1304020942 You need to call your doctor tomorrow but tonight call a pharmacist and ask if this is a medication you can safely stop taking cold turkey during pregnancy - some medications stopped abruptly can cause seizures or miscarriage so please be careful. You take Elavil, right?
Avatar f tn So, I just want to say thank you to the people who helped put me at ease when I first started bleeding. But I went to a better doctor today and discovered that there is no longer a heartbeat. It has been gone between 48 hours and a week and a half. I now have 3 choices, wait it out, take some medication to help it along, or do a DNC. I haven't decided yet. But you all have been kind.
Avatar f tn If I have a miscarriage how can I prevent having one next time ?
Avatar f tn Has anyone taken a class C medication during pregnancy and had a healthy baby? Im on cymbalta and my dr says its ok to take. I would love to get off them but the withdrawal is awful.
Avatar f tn Thank you and congrats on quitting. I quit smoking about six years ago and never looked back! I live a very healthy life, I don't drink, eat bad, take vitamins and exercise a lot. The only big big problem I have is my crazy anxiety. I had a bad past two years which led me to the prescription of Vicodin which led to addiction. Yes , I am getting my pills prescribed, I need to stop but I feel so crummy when I do and crummy if I don't.
Avatar n tn is this normal or is it a sign of a miscarriage. i have been put on medication for ten days. will the fetus survive or is it all a waste of time. the doctor says that we must wait for ten days and then see if all is ok.
Avatar f tn I miscarried at 4 weeks with the "normal" miscarriage symptoms. My levels dropped from 3200 to 2800 to finally 1800...and then stayed at 1800. Two weeks later my miscarriage symptoms repeated themselves almost identical to the first time. I do not return to the doctor for add'l bloodwork until Tues. Any ideas? Anyone out there had any similar happen?
Avatar n tn The don't if you prefer. I was on medication my entire pregnancy and my daughter is a very healthy, intelligent two year old. They're not as harmful to children as you would think, and it's in fact worse for you to be that sick and in pain because it puts them into stress.
Avatar f tn 5 weeks when I should be 7.5 weeks and the baby should be starting to develop. He gave me some medication to help the process along but I'm waiting until the weekend to use it and really hoping I naturally start miscarrying before then. At this point I just want it to all be over so I can move on. I'm kind of scared about what to expect next. Has anyone ever been in this position? I've never miscarried. And had anyone ever taken misoprostol to aid in miscarriage?
Avatar n tn I then was told to come back a week later and they informed me there has been no growth and now i have been given the options off what to do for the miscarriage. I am obviously quite frightened as this is my first pregnancy and i am not sure what to do. I have had no bleeding and can't understand how tey just assume i am going to misscarry.
Avatar f tn I have recently had one miscarriage at eight and a half weeks. I am pregnant again and seven weeks today. My doctor has put me on progesterone, a hormone medicine that is supposed to help keep the baby attached to my uterus. I had an ultrasound at six weeks and two days and the baby's heart beat had just started. Has anyone taken the medicine and was their pregnancy normal or what?
Avatar f tn Well ladies, I posted 2 weeks ago that my pregnancy was not viable, after seeing heartbeat at 7weeks, then 9 weeks ultrasound showed no heartbeat, shrinking baby, and large yolk sac! . . .Well after 2 weeks with no spotting or anything, I had another appointment today. The baby has not gotten any smaller than 2 weeks ago. So thursday I will take cytotec (a drug used to induce labor/miscarriage).
Avatar f tn If you have low progesterone you will be at high risk for miscarriage or still birth without this medication even in the second trimester. I think you are confused, maybe the medication is not FDA approved to prevent miscarriage but it has been FDA approved it is just being used "off label". Once you start taking the medication do NOT stop taking it until your dr says so as stopping this medication may cause you to bleed and probably miscarry. I hope i didn't confuse you more.
Avatar f tn PCOS is known to cause irregular periods and put you at risk of miscarriage. Are you taking any medication for PCOS?
Avatar n tn As soon as the bleeding began, I passed what I thought was the sac so my doctor started me on medication that lasted five days to clear all the remaining material. I was only 5 weeks along. My boyfriend and I had sex the day I was through with my medication and after having pregnancy symptons 7 weeks after the miscarriage I took a test and it came back positive!
Avatar f tn Other four are TOTALLY healthy fine smart never had an miscarriage Bcuz of it. More then likely laurenda had the miscarriage Bcuz of the blow to the stomach yea that can cause a miscarriage. I'm sorry you had that. I had one yrs ago its tough mine wasn't from meds.
Avatar f tn Hi! I am 25 years old and have been on Metformin since I was 17 for treatment of PCOS. The side effects when you first take the medication isn't to pleasant. At least wasn't for me. I was sick a lot with diarrhea and nausea. But this will go away after about two weeks on the medication. I too got told to loose a few pounds and I would probably get pregnant rather easily. I weighed almost 400 pounds at the start of seeing this doctor. I now weight 328.8 with her encouragement and dieting.
