Avatar f tn The forum does not provide a diagnosis and your doctor can provide more information. Your information is sufficient to indicate 2 results possible when leaflets become stiffer (thicken). The condition can narrow the valve opening reducing the amount of blood that can flow through it, and the condition is medically termed valvular stenosis when the tissues forming the leaflet become thickened and restrictive to normal blood flow.
11702305 tn?1420502553 With most medications that you buy or are prescribed, comes an information leaflet that does warn people of normal side effects and serious side effects. If an information leaflet does not come with your medication, information with regard to side effects can be found on the web. Of course, one person may be OK with a particular medication, but it may not suit another person. For example, some people are OK taking amoxicillin whilst others are allergic to it.
Avatar f tn You can also contact the pharmacist for advice and you can also find information on the medicine information leaflet what to do and who to contact when experiencing any side effects and any overdose. An overdose is when someone takes too much of the prescribed medication all in one go. If your mum has taken the medication as prescribed and has started to experience side effects, her body cannot tolerate the medication. This is not an overdose, but an adverse reaction to the medication.
Avatar m tn MY TTE showed either a vegetation or a ruptured chorda tendinea on the posterior mitral valve leaflet, and normal left ventricular function.Upon having a TEE, vegetations were observed on the posterior valve leaflet. I am due to follow up with my Cardiologist next week, but this whole episode has me really shaken up. I feel FINE! My discharge summary stated "The patient will likely require a mitral valve replacement.
1419501 tn?1320206310 i agree with beanie485. a normal miscarriage is when you start bleeding/cramping then find out the baby has no heart beat and the body gets rid of the pregnancy on it's on. a missed miscarriage is when you have no miscarriage symptoms (bleeding, cramping) and then usually go in for a check up to find the baby had passed usually days or weeks ago without anyone know. i am sorry for your loss. hang in there.
Avatar f tn This warning will also be included in the patient information leaflet or Medication Guides for these medicines. Direct-acting antiviral medicines are used to treat chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, an infection that can last a lifetime. These medicines reduce the amount of HCV in the body by preventing HCV from multiplying, and in most cases, they cure HCV.
Avatar m tn Sir, I have been having palpatations, SOB, extreme fatique, and chest pain at times, had a stress test it was normal, had a ECHO done and it showed anterior leaflet prolapse, what does this mean and what is the treatment for this, i do have a appointment with a cardiologist in Aug.
Avatar m tn I have been prescribed Fluticasone Furoate Nasal Spray and the information leaflet says not to use it at the same time as topical steroids. Once I finish using the topical steroid do I need to leave a gap before starting to use the nasal spray and if so for how many days?
Avatar f tn i m a patient of rheumatic fever and recently my Echo says my mitral leaflet is mild thickened but no regurgitation or prolapse though ECG report comes with some abnormalities. 1week ago it shows some drop beats but now its improving. My Cardiologist has started giving me Penicillin for atleast 5yrs. But i fell shortness of breath after taking meal at night and when i go outside. Doctor says its just happening for ur anxiety. i m getting confused day by day.. Is there anyone who can help me?
Avatar f tn CG and they found sinus tachycardia and i went for an Echo. They found my anterior mitral leaflet (7mm) ,Area planimetry (3.6cm). I found in internet that cabergoline is responsible for vulvular heart disease but my endocrynologist didn't give any permission to stop this medicine. I'm really very much worried about my condition and I'm not getting any proper solution. Please help me with some precious solutions. thank you.
Avatar n tn There was probably a leaflet of some sort with this kind of information included with the medicine package.

Avatar n tn Hi clydo , yes , sweating profusely is a recognized adverse effect of Effexor. For more information check out the product information on the leaflet in the pack , or their website - there's a whole host of possible side effects.
Avatar n tn My doctor says it could be scar tissue or the leaflet could be prolapsed and has just pulled back. Can anyone tell me how this prolapse and pull back could occur and if one theorectically could, scientifically fix this without surgery. Thank You.
Avatar f tn leaflet mobility (flaps that close over the valve opening), leaflet thickening, subvalvar thickening, and calcification. etc. Treatment also focuses on concomitant conditions often seen in mitral stenosis: and treatment is not necessary in asymptomatic patients. Your father's doctor can help provide information if your father is still a good candidate for vulvoplasty.
385161 tn?1270081218 So here is my situation....I am 9 weeks 3 days pregnant with twins. Went to the doctor 2 weeks ago and was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. She didn't want to prescribe antibiotics because I am in my first trimester.
Avatar f tn AML is "anterior mitral valve leaftlet". That leaflet (front side) of the mitral valve appears to have some thickening. The mitral valve is a one way passing of blood received from the lungs into the lower chamber to be pumped into circulation. Mitral valve regurgitation indicates some backflow of blood back into the upper chamber. MVP is mitral valve prolapse meaning the valve leaflet doesn't properly close.and 12mm is the calculation of the degree of prolapse.
Avatar f tn I am 42, female and have just been diagnosed with "Bi-leaflet MVP; at least mod MR, hyperdynamic LV". The Eco Cardiogram report was as follows: Sinus rythum LV is mildly dilated with hyperdynamic LV systolic function Mitral valve opens well. Mitral forward flow is raised 1.6m/sec. There appears to be a degree of prolapse of both mitral leaflets with associated eccentric jets of MR which appear at least moderate in degree when combined. LA appears normal in size.
Avatar f tn Hey ladies im 12 weeks and my midwife rang my gp and told them to prescribe me low dose asprin, but the receptionist didnt tell me what for, ive read the leaflet inside and it says low dose asprin is to lower blood pressure and thin blood, but im not sure what ive been given it for, i had blood taken last week so maybe this is why but im scared to take it because ive read that it can cause miscarriage, anyone else taken it during pregnancy and is it safe?
387294 tn?1207620185 She has healthy blood pressure and heart rate, but her echo came out indicating a bi leaflet aortic heart valve. She is seeing a cardiologist for a couple of weeks when she comes home at the end of the summer, then is abroad for semester. I want to ask the right questions. I am hoping they do not think surgery is right yet, but after reading articles and due to her young age, I wonder if/when surgery is needed if reconstructive valve surgery might be most appropriate for someone her age.
Avatar f tn I had a miscarriage in March so am nervous. I was due for my period Sept.3rd...so am currently 4 wks+2 days according to lmp. I took a clear blue digital tuesday morning (9.2.14) with it saying pregnany 1 - 2. I just took another and it still says 1-2. Is this ok or should I be concern 5 that the pregnancy isn't progressing as it should be? Please give me some insight... i have first appt (registration) next week (9.11.14). Thanks!
Avatar f tn I even rang the consumer number on the pregnancy test information leaflet to be sure and they said definately yes and i was (four times now.) congrats. The lighter it is the earlier your pregnancy is as it works on the amount of hormone in your urine.
Avatar f tn s mitral valve are due to the leaflets not closing properly to cover the valve opening when the heart pumps. Torn chordae will not have proper control of the leaflet. Chordae is stringlike or a chord, if you will, that attaches leaflets to the heart wall. Torn chordae will enable the leaflet to flail and not close properly. An ECG would not provide the information you have cited. Your father probably had an echocardiogram.
1393959 tn?1280191024 No, MVP will not go away as it is a structual defect that causes the leaflet(s) to abnormally bellow back into the upper chamber with the backward flow of the regurgitated blood. The underlying cause can be elongated or ruptured chord(s) attached to the leaflet and heart wall (papilary muscle). And there can be leaflet as well as the valve opening defect. I haven't heard that age can causes changes i.e. stiffening that ameliorates the symptoms of MVP.
