I'm 39 weeks exactly 7 days away. & I'm miserable! What can I do to help speed up labor. I've been having sex but it's hard & uncomfortable, mainly bc of my size. If felt a dull pain & my lower back & hips & ive had braxton hicks but No other signs of labor approaching. No mucus plug or blood.
Do any mom's have advice how to speed up dilation, I've been contracting for 5 days straight most of the time every 5 min or less occasionally I slow down to every 10 min and I haven't gotten past 1cm. I went to the hospital but I wasn't progressing so they sent me home. The contractions have gotten so painful that I told my husband it is making the pain I had when my kidneys failed feel like a walk in the park but my cervix still isn't budging.
The latent phase of labor is the beginning part that takes a while, especially for first timers. Have you had celestone? Definitely do not speed up your labor. You want to keep your baby in as long as you can. If you truly are in labor, then it is what it is, but it is not worth the risks to have him sooner. Trust me, I'm a nurse in L&D and I see moms all the time having their babies at various gestational ages.
I'm trying to speed up my labour date. Doctor said walking and intimacy can help......any other suggestions plzzzz I don't want to be induced, I want my baby to come on her own.
At 35 weeks you don't want to attempt to speed up labor. Although babies born at 35 weeks tend to do just fine, they do often require a bit of time in NICU, have an increased risk of underdeveloped lungs and increased risk of jaundice. If anything, try to stay off your feet and do what you can to delay things. I'm a bit surprised your Dr. didn't give you this advice, or do anything to try to slow or prevent labor at this point.
I feel like I am going crazy! As hard as it is to ask this, I really need some help/ideas...how can I induce my miscarriage? I feel horrible asking but I just want this done and over with! Please please help!
I'm now 10 weeks and found out in my 8th weeks through ultrasound that there is no fetus and no heartbeat, just an empty sac. After two more ultrasounds, it was confirmed that I have a missed miscarriage (blighted ovum). The doctor only gave me two options: either have a d&c or just wait for a natural miscarriage. I am very afraid to have the d & c and put to sleep, so I opted for the natural miscarriage. It's been 4 weeks and nothing.
I also read on a pregnancy site that sitting up and leaning forward helps speed up dilation
I was told today that the levels should have doubled but only went up by 20. That could mean more than likely its another tubal or a miscarriage. They are sending me for another blood test on Wednesday. This pregnancy was planned and due to some personal issues and things in the past this is a very important and very much wanted thing for us.
