Thanks for your comments. i had a miscarriage in Nov. Actually i had a D&C. . I bled for 9 days after D&C so i would just give it some time. Also what happened to me is that my D&C must not have completed b/ in Jan I bled heavily and went to the dr and they did a blood test and i still had a little preg hormone left, they tested again after 1 week and it was back to normal. my body has not gotten back to normal since then. I have spotting after i ovulate.

hey, i just found out yesterday that I am miscarrying too. my clinic really tries to encourage natural miscarriage and uses d&c as a last resort. but there is also a pill that can be taken orally(i think) that will loosen the cervix temporarily in order for everything to come out easier. i won't do the d&c because i don't want any side effects either. i was thinking of going with the natural mc, but i'm starting to lean towards the pill.
Six years ago were you tested for the thyroid antibodies, TPO ab and TG ab, to determine if Hashimoto's Thyroiditis was the cause of you being hypo? Have you been experiencing possible hypo symptoms other than the muscle problems? What medication dosage were you on previously and what is it now?
Please post your thyroid test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report.
I had a d&c with my first pregnancy, I had a missed miscarriage at 11weeks..then I got pregnant again 3.5 months after and had a healthy little boy!! Now here I am pg again :) Don't loose hope!!!
I took cytotec for my missed miscarriage. No side affects. Took about 1 1/2 weeks. My doctor started me with a low dosage first, then increased it. I'm sorry for your loss.
I'm very sorry for your loss. I don't know much about D&C as I had a natural m/c, but if things still don't feel right, it can't hurt to call your dr. Have you gotten your first period yet after the procedure?
If you don't mind me asking, what makes them say miscarraige? 5 weeks is pretty early to expect to see a heart beat. Its possible you just ovulated later than you thought. If you are sure it's a miscarriage though, I would opt for the d&c. I've done it both ways and my d&c was so much quicker, way less bleeding and personally less painful emotionally. I'm very sorry for your loss.
Has anyone here ever had the D&C procedure done after a miscarriage? Did You become pregnant again? How soon after?
I had to have a d&c my doctor didn't give me the option. My baby just didn't grow I didn't have any signs at all just when we went for the u/s the tech seen it. Then my doctor had to do a biopsy for any cancer.
Like if... Your baby dies and you have a miscarriage. They dilate you then clean ya up there.
I recently was pregnant and made it to my first US at 8 4/7 weeks. Unfortunatly I was told it was not viable. I had no out of the norm cramping..(or what I thought was normal) and no bleeding up to that point which made the news even more devastating. I had a D&C shortly after. I was told that this is fairly common. I know many have had this loss and I would like to hear about their experiences. How long were you told to wait until you could start trying again?
I agree with JoyRenee. Wait another week or so and have another ultrasound. If there is no change at that point, THEN you can discuss a possible D&C.
I've had two miscarriages, one needed a D&C and the other was a natural miscarriage.
they gave me cytotec when i had a missed miscarriage. it helps your uterus contract to expell any "products of conception". it is relatively safe... there are always side effects, but i don't think that this drug is "unsafe". otherwise, it shouldnt be on the market.
my wife and I are pregnant...she has late menstrual cycles every 35+ days, last period November 9th, on December 11th had positive preg. test...She had some sharp cramping on the left side from a cyst she has been having on/off for the past 5 months but that was normal during her periods....Since having the positive preg. test there is no bleeding, have nausea, have cramping, have breast soreness...first pregnancy so unsure of how to feel.
I am very sorry for your loss. I also had a missed mc. Miscarried end of Oct and finally started bleeding around Thanksgiving. Ended up having a D&C in March. Yes it dragged out for about 5 months. The worse time in my life. Everyone's body is different. If I were to do it all over I'd go in and have the D&C, but thats just me. 5 months after my D&C I got pregnant again and am currently 6 days past my due date - go in Thursday to be induced.
Those of you that were told you had a miscarriage and the dr suggested a d&c (but was completely wrong) can you share your stories. What made you not go through with the d&c? At how many weekd did you hear a heartbeat?
If you are waiting it out, watch for fever and of course for big bleeding (more than a maxipad an hour). If you get a fever, go in for a D&C immediately. The other problem is that after four weeks or more, there is the possibility that you are simply creating a future problem with scar tissue, rather than letting nature take its course with the least damage.
