1422850 tn?1307364413 You can get your period while taking progesterone if the dose is low enough. When I was taking 200 mg progesterone (prometrium) and was not pregnant, I got my period w/out stopping the progesterone. Same thing when I was on Crinone 90 mg. When I was on 400 mg suppositories I did not get my period even though I wasn't pregnant. I had to stop the suppositories to get my period. So it depends on the dose...
Avatar n tn The fact that your progesterone is dropping may mean impending miscarriage. Low progesterone can cause you to miscarry. It is VITAL to have during pregnancy. It might not be too late. Ask your doctor for progesterone supplementation and see what happens.
Avatar f tn Did your Dr put you on progesterone of some kind? That's really low and you need to get on something asap. I have low progesterone and I have to be on a prescription plus an essential oil (Progessence) that boosts it.
Avatar n tn hello, my story: I got pregnant after ivf. I went for 1st beta :66. Second:87 Third:80. I'm not bleeding because i am taking progesterone. They want to run another blood test on Friday. Why? If it's a miscarriage, why don't i stop the progesterone now, what's the point?? Anybody in same situation? Thanks!
Avatar m tn Pregnant and went in for early progesterone test at 5wks, no bleeding. progesterone level 6 now taking inserts. Has anyone gone on to have a healthy baby incase such as this?
Avatar f tn I was almost positive I was having another miscarriage. I went in to my OB; hcg 2,000 and progesterone 6. OB started me on progesterone supp, 100mg at bedtime. Also, had a sono and there was a heartbeat, although it wasn't audible. I continue to have bright bleeding, but am so confussed as to what in the world is going on!! Has anyone had any experiences with this? I would also love to know if anyone has had a viable pregnancy with moderate bleeding and low progesterone.
Avatar n tn Some spotting or light bleeding is normal, as strange as it can sounds.I found this on the web, hope it helps you...........Bleeding or "spotting" during pregnancy happens more often than you might think, with up to 25 percent of all pregnant women experiencing it. Spotting –- bleeding that isn't continuous and isn't enough to fill a tampon or pad -- is especially common in the first three months.
Avatar f tn Make sure you talk about maybe you not producing enough progesterone, which could be the reason to your bleeding. They can give you progesterone suppositories that you insert vaginally nightly or you can also do orally and take a pill. There's options! Insurance may not cover so be prepared to pay. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I did have this pain like cramps but weren't sereve, and I did get some clots but only one time and then next time I went to the bathroom it was turning pink for some reason, haha.
7708597 tn?1395400152 I'm sorry about your first one! I know how you feel. Have you gotten any blood work done? Get your progesterone checked and your hcg. Progesterone should be at least 20 and if it's low you can take prescription progesterone. Low progesterone is a common cause of miscarriage. Hcg should double every couple days so you can get it tested 2 days apart and see how fast it goes up. Best wishes and I hope all goes well!
967320 tn?1333199708 If you are on progesterone supplements and have an early miscarriage, would the progesterone prevent you from bleeding until you stopped them? In other words, can I be confident that since I haven't had any spotting or bleeding that I have not miscarried, even though I'm on progesterone supplements?
Avatar f tn How are you? I worry about this alot since I had a miscarriage over a year ago. No one sat down and counseled me. They just kept drawing blood levels til tge numbers were nil. I wished I had someone to explain why but there is no answers. I worry about this one im 8wks now and I worry that when the date comes and its tiMe for my period I may lose the baby. The 24th is coming soon and my anxiety is kicking up.
Avatar n tn Um...I am not very knowledgeable about progesterone but from what I understand it is a hormone taken to provide the pregnancy with what it needs until the placenta takes over. Did the doctor do a blood test to see if your progesterone levels were low? I don't think progesterone has any birth defects for the baby...lots of women take it in very early pregnancy (usually stop by week 10 I think). Bleeding doesn't mean a miscarriage is imminent.
Avatar f tn 215 progesterone:23.5. Then on Feb 10 they were HCG: 1850 progesterone and 32.5 and yesterday Feb 14 they were hcg: 8880 progesterone: 28.5. My doctor called today and put me on the prometrium capsule in the morning as well. Is it normal for progesterone to fluctuate like this.. My doctor likes to see it above 35.. Thank you for your help..
Avatar f tn t stop a miscarriage from happening if its due to chromosomal abnormalities. It will prevent a miscarriage that would have occurred due to low progesterone levels. I had to take it while pregnant with my daughter, an everything turned out fine. It sounds like you have an issue with progesterone which the prometrium will fix.
Avatar f tn Go to your doctor just to make sure!
Avatar f tn It looks like I will soon be leaving the forum, I woke up this morning bleeding, I am just under 10 weeks, all my breast soreness and sickness have suddently gone and I have been passing small clots with the blood. I have had 4 miscarriages over the years do I know the signs and feelings. I have an ultrasound appointment tomorrow but I dont think it will be good news.
1249872 tn?1295837816 s bleeding during early pregnancy they call it a threatened miscarriage but unless you start bleeding heavily and cramp it's usually normal and harmless. Just keep an eye on things and go to the ER if it changes drastically but otherwise try to relax.
374593 tn?1257879950 So i'm possibly 5 weeks 1 day today (unless i miscarried last night) I have two questions.. I have been spotting for about 5 days.. and since i was concerned i went to my RE a couple of times during this spottting and light bleeding (i would occasionally have a cramp since we found out we were preg) my beta continued to double every 26-33 hours or so.. yesterday since the spotting was a little heavier and i was told my beta was continuing to double very well i thought we were ok..
Avatar f tn Yes. I have been taking progesterone prescribed by my doctor since about the 5th week of pregnancy. I had one miscarriage before my current pregnancy and if I did not begin taking the progesterone early during this pregnancy, I believe I may have lost this one as well. The hormone stopped the bleeding I was experiencing and has been protecting the baby until the placenta was formed.
Avatar n tn I was bleeding through most of my first trimester. I am almost 32 weeks. Bleeding/spotting is not uncommon and does not always means m/c. Do another hcg test if you have any doubts.
Avatar f tn The pregnancy that I miscarried my hCG was rising appropriately but my Progesterone began dropping. I started bleeding and miscarried before the Progesterone supplements made a difference. I believe I wouldn't have miscarried if I had the Progesterone but I won't know until I die and meet God. Anyway the pregnancy after my loss I started taking Progesterone right away and had my baby girl full-term. This pregnancy my hCG was rising again but the Progesterone dropped again.
Avatar f tn What are they doing to prevent another miscarriage? Are you on Prometrium (or another progesterone supplement)? Or taking baby aspirin? There are some preventative measures to take to prevent miscarriage if it is recurrent and they know why you keep miscarrying (depending on what is going on). They need to check your HCG levels. They should double every 48-72 hours. They also need to check your progesterone.
546831 tn?1262742429 Well girls I believe I am currently having my 4th miscarriage. Started bleeding today so I went to the ER. Numbers were only 1667 so they are low. I am assuming I am just bleeding it out. Hoping for a miracle next time and they know what is going on.
Avatar f tn I saw your other comment/question to me on another thread. You asked me how long we planned on waiting before trying again because I'm having a miscarriage right now as well. Ugh, by the way, I'm so ready for the bleeding/spotting to be over. It's like a constant reminder. Anyway, this is my 2nd miscarriage. I had a miscarriage in 2006. We started trying immediately (even before my first period) after the 1st miscarriage.
Avatar n tn Was checked at ER and everything ok. hcg was 17-they said was very early. They also checked my progesterone level. Sat. night late had heavier red bleeding like period. Went back to ER they said was m/c most likely. Sunday afternoon had cramping and bleeding. Did not take Prometrium the night before due to being told I was having m/c. I called my OB Sunday. He said to keep taking the Prometrium and have my hcg rechecked Monday. I did. Monday my hcg was 44.
808898 tn?1241544940 I am sure that your doctor knows best and there was a specific reason he/she told you to stop the progesterone. My RE put me on progesterone after my second miscarriage and I still lost it. My understanding is, if it is one of those random abnormalities, then no amount of medicine or treatment will stop the miscarriage. Perhaps that was the case with you. Not that it makes you feel any better. But maybe knowing that it was inevitable will help you move on and continue with your plans.
Avatar f tn I did the embryo transfer 8 days ago. I started getting brownish pink discharge last night and this evening it looks like a between spotting and a light period... I am currently taking vaginal progesterone... Do u think it's due to that or early signs of miscarriage? My blood test isn't till this coming Monday.., so scared and nervous now...
