Avatar f tn I have chronic pain. I have had my gall bladder removed, part of my small bowel removed (due to endometriosis), mesh put in my abdomen from a hernia and a hysterectomy. My last surgery was approx 3 years ago. Since then, I have had loose yellow bowel movements, chronic pain in my abdomen, shoulders, knees, feet and hands. Cymbalta helped but caused constipation. With that being said and the research I have done, my question is: Is it possible that I have fibromyalgia?
Avatar n tn A day later, exactly like last week when I first started taking minocycline, my symptoms, in particular in the bladder/urethra area, seem to be coming back (the whole perineum pain is gone). It's getting worse by the hour. Yesterday for a while it seemed ALL the symptoms are gone. Doc, I think you will agree that it is unlikely that this has anything to do with any infection, and that this has to be some sort of reaction to this medicine or a change of regime.
Avatar f tn Is there a better oral antibiotic (than minocycline) for trteating staphaureas? Should I accept this discoloration?
494623 tn?1278279352 I have a Friend in Canada who has been on Minocycline for her RA for years and says she could not function without it,I asked my Doctor to prescribe this for me but he says it's not proven to be effective so wouldn't give me it !!! I have read that it IS effective not as a cure but by killing the bacteria that may be causing the RA symptoms. I am totally convinced it was the MRSA infection that caused my RA in the first place as I was absolutely fine before that happened ....
Avatar m tn Hi, im peter i have bacterial infection in my mouth, i used MINOCYCLINE 100mg for past 2 day but yet not cured. i got it from online shop International Drug Mart This discussion is related to <a href="/posts/STDs/minocycline/show/246802">minocycline</a>.
Avatar f tn I have been on Minocycline for acne for well over a year. Usually I take 50mg twice a day, although for the last month have been on 75mg twice a day. If by some freak chance I had rectally contracted Gonorrhea or Chlamydia, would this antibiotic take care of it?
Avatar m tn Minocycline is an intracellular abx and is used in combination with another type of abx when given for Lyme. It can help with Bartonella, too, as Bart is also an intracellular infection. I considered taking it, but my PA warned me that it often causes dizzyness, especially in women, so I haven't tried it yet. Wouldn't be surprised if I do at some point. I seem to have tried most everything at one point or another.
Avatar m tn There is a serious split in the medical community about how serious Lyme is or is not, and having had Lyme myself (and also another family member had it), I can tell you for certain that Lyme is a real infection -- and one that can be treated and eradicated -- but first an accurate diagnosis needs to be done.
Avatar n tn The testing came back yesterday and I was positive for urine Gonorrhea, negative for oral, rectal, and HIV. Shypillis was still pending. Last Saturday 24 hours after I was injected with antibiotics and taken large pills I had protected vaginal sex, and she performed brief oral sex on me with no ejaculation with same partner who is still on Minocycline. This was stupid but I thought I was clear with Minocycline.
Avatar f tn I am not aware of any information that suggests that minocycline, or for that matter, any other antibiotic acts to either increase risk for HIV acquisition or would modify the performance of tests for HIV. Current tests for HIV look for antibodies. Antibody production in response to infection is not changed by antibiotics, menses or any of the other factors. The results of HIV antibody tests are to be believe.
Avatar n tn Is a tetrocycline antibiotic such as minocycline adequate for treating a staph infection or would some other antibiotic be needed. Also just to be clear are you suggesting the crease may be there now as a result of the staph infection or just the blepharitis.
Avatar n tn Has anyone ever successfully used antibiotics (minocycline, etc.) for Psoriatic Arthritis? Please share.
Avatar m tn It is now January 18th and I am now seeing symptoms of sore throat, oral thrush, diarrhea, on and off fever and swollen neck lymph nodes. I am scheduled for another test on the 21st of January. How likely is it that I now have HIV, and I somehow took longer than the three months for my antibodies to appear? Please answer quickly. I am very scared.
Avatar f tn Anyways—is the blood in my urine something to be concerned about—I have minocycline at home for my acne so I started taking those and cranberry chews when I realized it was a UTI. Also, will drinking coffee help with my constipation? I want to try but don’t want to irritate my bladder I have been taking fiber capsules but they don’t seem to help.
Avatar m tn So they are unrelated. Secondly minocycline is an antibiotic used for bacterial infection and not viral ones. Hence if you had improvement after minocycyline then possibility is that it is bacterial. To confirm the diagnosis, it is better to get a culture sensitivity of the bumps and to rule out any fungal infection, get a KOH examination of the skin scrapings of the bumps done. This will confirm the diagnosis and specific treatment can be planned.

Avatar f tn I have a bladder infection, I think. So I called my Dr and told him what was going on. He prescribed Septra generic DS. It made me so sick that I called him back and asked what to do and he said it would be alright to take a half pill twice a day instead of a whole one. This is the second time I've had a bladder infection in two months. The first time was when I was in the hospital. No catheter was used. They sent me home with a script for Septra and it cleared up with in 5 days.
279230 tn?1259923903 Hi. My mom's puppy (16 weeks old) has a bladder infection. She's been to the vets and he gave her antibiotics. He also said that her urine is not acidic enough and gave her medication for that. She has to be re-checked in 3 weeks. However, he said she may have to take the pills for the acid for the rest of her life. Does anyone know of any alternative to this or what would cause this in a puppy so young? She is on the nutro ultra puppy food, so she gets good food.
Avatar n tn I was put on a course of Minocycline for 2 weeks - no help. I was then put on a course of Bactrim DS for 4 weeks - helped significantly (ability to hold urine increased tremendously, and urgency subsided) - but symptoms returned after stopping medication. Currently on a course of Flagyl for 2 weeks - symptoms seem to be intensified... Please help if you can. Thank-you.

Avatar f tn I have a bladder infection. Yes, I am on antibiotics. My questions are, can I take cranberry pills that also have vitamin C in them? And also can I drink Kefir with probiotics in it while I'm on the antibiotic?I'm trying to keep my body in balance while the antibiotics are working. I've also read that a mixture of water, vinegar and honey may help. But I'm wondering if the vinegar might be too acidic and irritate my bladder even more. Please give me your thoughts on all of this.
