he said since i been taking minocycline 100 mg daily for 2 years and using the retin a micro 0.1% for 2 years and im still breaking out i should try something new like it may be wearing off....he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.
I have acne all over the back of my head and on my back it hurts to touch in some spots and to dry my hair.
I have been on Minocycline for coming up 9 years now and i'm currently down to one 50mg pill a day to control my acne, my question is what effects does it have on my cognitive ability and memory over such a long period of time.
Hi. I have been on minocycline since I was 21 (now 29) for acne. I recently went to a new family practice Dr. While I was there he noticed I was on mino and asked how long I'd been taking it. I told him my acne treatment history. He pointed out that my shines were green (look like bruises). He asked how long I'd had those "bruises". I replyed that they'd been there longer then normal. Months maybe.
How long did it take for your acne to go? I'm using isotretinoin. Then i got some ulcers on my lips and my doctor said its because of the isotretinoin. Then he prescribed minoz 50. I can't bear this acne anymore...
I have been on Zoloft for about 7 months now, after dealing with crippling anxiety and depression. this medicine really worked wonders! recently I was put on Minocycline for my chronic forehead and shoulder acne, and I was all for the idea of clear skin, whether I had to take pills or not. ever since, slowly but surely, my anxiety is making a reappearance, along with my depression, both of which I thought were long gone.
I heard from a friend that it may have had adverse effects on my body because i have been taking it for such a long time. he said i should get my body checked up. I am really scared. I have been reading that minocycline can cause black thyroid in some people and can take up to a year to reverse after stopping medication. it is given to teenagers for acne and my son was on it for 6 mths twice a day having severe headaches yet the dr ignored it until I googled and realized that it could be effecting his thyroid and causing the headaches since those were listed as symptoms and wondered if anyone else ran into that.....his thyroid test did come back 4.6 with the top normal of 4.

i was given this monocyline Hcl 100mg with cream which has this oleanolic acid formula.is this cream for acne scars or acne?or for both?i have been using both tablet and cream for 20 days.i didn't see much of the change in fadeness of scars or maybe it takes time.please let me know what is this cream exactly for.
I get it on my chest, back and face I have went to a derm since I was 18 but it never seemed to really help and I felt like since my acne was mild they never really cared. When I get acne it lasts for multiple weeks or months which is why its so agonizing especially cause afterwards I am left with post acne marks that can last up to a year. It has totally messed up my self confidence and has made me totally insecure.
s opinion on the effectiveness of Accutane on smaller acne heads. My acne is on my face, neck, back, and chest. There are not very many big acne heads (I have benzoyl peroxide5%, Differin 3%, and Minocyclin 100 mg twice a day). These medications play a big part in my not having many big zits.
Anyways, I have lots of little acne heads all over. How effective is Accutane at getting rid of these heads and keeping them off? (from your experience or from official sources)

I have been on Minocycline for acne for well over a year. Usually I take 50mg twice a day, although for the last month have been on 75mg twice a day. If by some freak chance I had rectally contracted Gonorrhea or Chlamydia, would this antibiotic take care of it?
I was prescribed minocycline for my acne on the 21st of December and started taking it that day, found out on the 27th of January that I am pregnant with my first baby and I am driving myself crazy with worry! Everything I've read is telling me that minocycline is extremely bad to take while pregnant or becoming pregnant.
I am on 50mg of Minocycline twice a day, every day, on a long term basis for acne. When I searched the internet, I found a handful of results about Minocycline affecting HIV patients. I don't really understand what the connection was, but I wanted to know if I could trust my HIV test results even though I am on Minocycline, and was for months before, during, and after my HIV test.
I went to two different dermatologists and both prescribed regular acne medications (topicals and minocycline) which did not help. When I finally made the connection to exercise, I stopped exercising completely and my skin completely cleared up. Every time I try mentioning the exercise thing to my doctor they say to just make sure I wash my face afterwards (trust me, I'm doing that!).
I have all of the symptoms, no money to get tested. I do have some old minocycline and tetracycline from old acne.

A few months ago I visited my doctor to discuss options for decreasing the amount of acne I have, for a few various reasons. We decided to use a topical cream, for the more oily areas on my face, and for me to take a 100mg dosage of Apo-Minocycline two times a day (morning and night). This worked fantastic for a few months. Eventually, I developed this odd rash on one side of my neck.
has been able to give me a good diagnoses or treatment. One Dr. said scalp acne which seems possible and he gave me an antibiotic for acne which actually worked great only my scalp got reallys dry. Ask your doctor to try you on Minocycline to see if maybe you have bacteria in your skin. I do get to go see another Dr. in a few weeks.....wish me luck!
