Avatar m tn The person that you are talking about may have had a sudden loss of neurological function due to problem in the blood flow to the brain. it could have been a mini stroke with a normal CT or MRI scan. There are certain causes of mini stroke, which I hope have been excluded. These are seizures, migraines, mini stroke affecting memory areas etc. Is he a hypertensive and how is his blood glucose control?
713582 tn?1298262321 My dear Oma is still in hospital, & possibly so for a week or more from her mini stroke.
Avatar n tn t had a response on my first question concerning symptoms of a possible mini stroke or withdrawal symptoms from precocet or elavil. Should I take my husband to doctor - his office does not open until 9:00 am my time.
Avatar m tn this is not something to take lightly. Please get checked, as this type of symptoms are indicative of having had a stroke. This happened in my family. More and more damage is done when not treated asap.
2034625 tn?1392643292 Diplopia that I had hoped was just a mini-flare kind of thing is still here 10 days or so later and getting worse, not better. Add to that the fact that two fingers on my right had and my right toe not moving on command yesterday for the first time and I'm suspecting a new flare is trying to sneak its way into my life. Yesterday I had an appointment with my neuro that I have to drive an hour and a half to see.
Avatar f tn t think a thing about it until I told my husband last night and he said it might have been a mini stroke. My mother (deceased) had experienced these in the past and she had severe heart problems that the doctors said may have caused the strokes. I looked up the symptoms, but I only really had numbness in my face and a slight pain over my eye. Could this have been a mini stroke? Should I see a doctor now even though I have no symptoms? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Is it possible that without me realizing it that I may have had a mini stroke and not know it or am I over reacting? Since then my blood pressure has been 150/90.
Avatar n tn Many owners confuse the symptoms of a stroke in humans to a stroke in dogs. In fact, they are quite different.
Avatar f tn I had an ischematic stroke in August 2006, when aged 51, and since then have suffered numerous neurological 'episodes' which were initially diagnosed by the local hospital as TIA's (mini-strokes) but which I'm now informed are a rare kind of migraine.
Avatar m tn Like if an area of the brain is affected, it causes certain results peripherally. In the absence of this, it is difficult to say that the symptoms are due to TIA or stroke. Many times with TIAs the imaging studies do not pick up any positive findings. If your symptoms persist or recur consult your doctor. Regards.
Avatar f tn Often oxygen-rich blood cannot be supplied adequately to the brain, causing the symptoms of a mini stroke. In severe cases, increased pressure can cause the arteries in the brain to rupture and cause a hemorrhagic (bleed) stroke. All the best to your mom http://www.savingthebrain.
Avatar f tn spinal tap, myelogram, ct scan, mini stroke TIA
Avatar m tn Did your dad recently experience a stroke or T.I.A. (mini-stroke)? From what I find online, hypodensity on a CT scan in a patient who has had a stroke is bad news.... this is something you and your dad (if he is able) need to discuss with his physician. In patients who've had a minor stroke or a transient ischemic attack (mini-stroke), hypodensity in the white matter of the brain means extra risk of the potential for a future stroke. (See PM) I have a parent who suffered from a T.I.A.
Avatar m tn Dogs will mate towards the end of her cycle. I know larger dogs have a cycle of about 3 wks. I'm not sure with smaller dogs. If she isn't ready to mate she will let the male know.
Avatar m tn This morning I was hugging my girlfriend and suddenly her right leg gave out and she dropped her car keys out of her right hand. She was then dizzy for about 5 seconds and was fine after. She has been fine all day. She ears healthy and wirks out 4-5 days a week. Any input as to what would cause this would be deeply appreciated. My first thought was "mini stroke" but she has no symptoms. Thank you fir help!
Avatar n tn I know that I am experiencing ocular migraines--sometimes with pain following --sometimes not---the thing that bothers me is that when aura is gone I have an aching in my right arm and numbess in my hand that extends done to my pinky and ring fingers. I had a mini stroke (although I have now been told it was just a stroke because it shows up on an MRI??
Avatar f tn What can I do or ask for? One Doctor told me that if I had had a mini-stroke with that many symptoms I would be dead ? Is this correct?Do I push for more tests and if so which ones?
2093880 tn?1334813768 Best advice is carry out the doctor's orders. I recall when my wife had major cancer surgery we had to inject a anticoagulant, and I asked about just using Warfarin. The doctor said no, it seems the injection is far more effective (strong?). I don't recall how long she had to take the injections (administered by me), but think it was about a week. I also recall when I picked up the box of one-use syringes I said, "but we have prescription insurance"..
