Avatar f tn Babygirl should seek medical attention. This sounds more like a Tia "mini stroke" than a seisure, but only medical experts can really tell. It's best to have it checked out.
Avatar m tn So I'm just not sure if she had a mini-stroke or another seizure. So that's my question - Did she have a mini-stroke or a seizure (today)? Any relevant info is greatly appreciated.

Avatar f tn So, from talking to the doctor's office and actually I had already been diagnosed with this ( I've had some mini-strokes in the past). I am going to go in and follow-up and get more testing. I need to talk to the doctor to find out if old events like those can cause new symptoms or if maybe I have had more than one stroke like event. We shall see. My doctor also said that some things may not be definite or totally diagnosed for quite some time.
6456098 tn?1381453098 I tend to lose my memory after a severe episode where I become unaware of my surroundings and have a mini seizure. While coming out of the cafeteria at the college, 3 sharp pains in a row, in the same spot, hit my chest, and after walking up stairs, felt that my chest was pounding. While walking through the hall, I became heavy-headed and dizzy, almost falling over.
Avatar m tn My question is, does that sound like a mini-stroke to you? If so, what is the possibility of a major stroke. Thank You.
Avatar n tn Last month he a had a seizure which lasted about 30 sec with no apparently no lasting side affects, then last week a mini stroke. My question is, are the mini strokes a side affect of his alzhiemers disease and will they keep happening or go to full blown strokes?

Avatar n tn I read a article about migraines are related to strokes or that they do damage to the brain as would a stroke. Could you clear this up for me? It also stated that for people who get aura's on the onset of a migraine that is is actually a sign that the brain isn't getting enough oxygen. Is this just a theory? What are the signifigance of this info to people with migraines?
Avatar f tn I've been on this Carbamazephine for over 2 years and I just had another episode recently of a mini stroke or seizure or TIA. I've lost two jobs now and my drivers license this time.
Avatar m tn Sorry to read of your loss and the loss of a buddy to your remaining dog - this is one of the issues that troubles me when we talk about getting our dog a "brother or sister". The one experience I have with a stroke, diagnosed as a spinal stroke, was there was remaining paralysis. In this case it was a 10 year old large Golden Retriever. We got him back on his feet (rear was the problem and is a weak spot anyway in Goldens) using water therapy.
Avatar n tn Of course I worry abt. my health or falling again. Can you tell me if I had a petit seizure or a mini-stroke? Also, I finally told my boss abt. my condition but doubt she will do anything abt. it. How can I make these ppl. understand that this is as if you give poison to me or force someone to inhale smoke, etc. (I work at USA Funds). I do also suffer from very high cholesterol -284- and high blood pressure, I have been given 5 diff. statins which I cannot take, I walk as if I were drunk.
Avatar f tn In my teens was the first time I actually had a seizure and then vomited. It picked back up in my mid-20's around 2000 and was more fainting then throwing up with one time being escalating to a petit mal seizure. Originally, they thought it was neurological... years later they said it was a heart condition. I've had the EEG's, EKG's, MRI's, and a couple others I can't remember the names of...
Avatar f tn It has been two days since his last seizure but he still hasn't fully recovered, he doesn't know his commands, the people in the house ( including me ), or the other dogs and cats in the house. I want to know if he will even recover from this or if there is something I can do to help. He keeps pacing and whining, even in the middle of the night. Should I bring him in again? Could there be something more serious going on?
Avatar f tn He has had 2 spells since where he was hospitalized, they did not know the first time if it was a mini stroke, on the second time they ruled out mini strokes and diagnosed him with seizures. He was put on seizure meds, the dosage has been changed 3 times. He seems to be doing well now. But he does nothing, he don't get dressed lots of days, he watches TV or sleeps. He was never like this before, he has been outside a couple of times, to ride the mower. Is this normal?
Avatar n tn I read in the Merrik Manual that Atrial Fibrillation can cause strokes and mini strokes, and that strokes (caused by blood clot as well as hemmorage) can cause seizures. The doctors are hesitant to take him off his seizure meds even though he has not had a seizure in 6 years.
Avatar n tn I also had headaches for 4 months and in January of this year 2012 I had a mini stroke and now I have some memory loss and I still get dizzy, headaches, and I am always tired. My eye sight also goes blurry once in a while. I have to go to neurologist on the 14th of this month (February). I hate this I wish it would get better. How are you feeling now.
Avatar m tn This last time they THINK she may be experiencing mini seizures ruling out mini strokes. Something is NOT right here. My question is, now where do we turn? She's been to one of the best hospitals in Arizona, Saint Joe, and nothing is wrong? Something is wrong and we need some answers. HELP!
Avatar n tn as I am medically inclined and cometent. My dad 52 years old suffered a stroke about 10 months ago , it was ischemic, however his health is excellent and he worked out everyday. The carotid us and the echo came back good, with minimal plaque. The doc says it occured bc of atr-fib of the heart which is understandable.. He was dehydrated the day before and it was the following night that the stroke happened. He lost all motor skills on Left side(Rt MCA was affected.
Avatar n tn He went to urgent care again, where they said it could have been a mini-stroke, but to go to the er, if it gets worse. The next day, he woke up feeling the same sensation, only now in his leg as well. He went to the er where it got worse to where it was very painful and his chest was in pain. He ended up having to be admitted to the hospital where he seems to be getting worse.
Avatar f tn Okay, hello, I am a 22 year old male and I believe I suffered a TIA (Mini-Stroke) and am fighting to just get an appointment with a neurologist. On the 20th of April I was driving when I noticed sudden pins and needles. First in my nose, then my gums, then spreading down my body until my entire body was numb with pins and needles and I began shaking. I believed I was having a seizure so I fought to pull my car over and realized I could barely move at all.

Avatar n tn I am 2 years post dissection with pseudoaneurysm (no stroke--just mini strokes) and no healing. I have 5 year old twins and my husband and I would really like to have another. My symptoms are mostly under control but doctors seem unsure of the risk. I had preclampsia with the twins at 36 weeks and delivered via c-section at 37 weeks.
Avatar n tn My 55 yr old mother had a "massive" hemorrhagic stroke Feb. 18/05. The neuro surgeon said it was a large deep bleed in the left side of her brain, apparently she is lucky to have survived it and without surgery. The latest CT scan 3.5 weeks after the stroke the blood has started to re-absorb and swelling is going down.
Avatar n tn At 39 I was diagnosed with a TIA/mini-stroke. Initial Sympton: White light covered my sight and I started to mumble and unable to formulate words/or communicate with my co-workers. I went home "slept it off" and the next day returned to the office however, I couldn't put my thoughts together while crafting emails and went to the emergency room (Navy Medical Portsmouth, Va). A highly respected neurologist, after many many tests...
Avatar n tn One approach is your doctors' approach of trying aspirin, and as long as you do not have a recurrence of stroke or mini-stroke, to just leave you on the aspirin. If you do have a recurrence, the next step would be to add another blood thinner in addition to aspirin. This is a sensible, common sense approach that has been used for many years. The only problem with this is that if the next stroke is a large one, it could leave you with significant disability, or worse.
