stroke

Avatar m tn My husband had a stroke in his left eye, lost vision. Now he has stiffness in neck , shoulder blade and down arm on right side . Is this normal or should we go to hospital . His stroke happened while he slept, I'm worried.
Avatar f tn I honestly didn't think a thing about it until I told my husband last night and he said it might have been a mini stroke. My mother (deceased) had experienced these in the past and she had severe heart problems that the doctors said may have caused the strokes. I looked up the symptoms, but I only really had numbness in my face and a slight pain over my eye. Could this have been a mini stroke? Should I see a doctor now even though I have no symptoms? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Hello I was wondering if anyone who has had a mini stroke experinisesed this Wed at 1 am I got up to use the rest roomand all of sudden I had a change feeling in the front of my head and then I has a really warm feeling go from glad bladder area to my stomach to rush through my body and then my right eye had a hard time focusing in the dark so I turned the light in and looked in the mirror and my right eye sight was blurring and my right pupil was dilating weird.
Avatar f tn I also have a small amount of pressure behind my right eye and right side of the back of my head. When I lay down there is slight discomfort in my right ear but I lay on my left side. It hurts to use my right hand/arm because of the soreness. Is it possible that without me realizing it that I may have had a mini stroke and not know it or am I over reacting? Since then my blood pressure has been 150/90.
Avatar n tn I have never had one before and after doing research i am worried i have had a mini stroke. I feel alot better now but i still feel a bit week and my left arm is still not 100% back to normal. Is this expected in a migrain?
Avatar n tn Later, the next day, I had really bad eye pain and also a severe pain in the right side of my head. I have had the pain in the eye and the side of the head in the past. Sometimes, the pain in my head will be so bad that I cannot continue doing what I was doing. It usually passes within a minute or two. My eye pain, however, will usually hang around for quite a bit longer. I do wear glasses and get my eyes checked regularly. I went to an opthalmologist who said she thought I had a TIA.

6359965 tn?1393492236 I had a mini stroke behind my right eye now I have a headache all the time is this normal?I had a carotid endarterectomy on the right side of my neck dec 20th 2013 ,Feb 18 2014 started having problems with my right eye.I went to the eye dr and he sent me to my dr that did the carotid endarterectomy and he said it was a mini stroke.I have like a gray fog over my eye all the time and like northern lights in the corner. My head hurts bad sometimes and I get nauseated.
Avatar n tn If it was a TIA, it would be a mini-stroke which is often a warning sign that you may be headed for a larger stroke. Only your doctor could check for that. I'm not sure which tests they would do. I know they can look into your eyes to check for pinpoint hemorrhages. Since you're on Warfarin, do you have your blood checked regularly (your INR)? That should be monitored too so your blood is the right. . . . consistency I guess you'd call it. I lost the sight in one eye a couple years ago.
Avatar f tn Bowel and bladder symptoms include frequency of micturition, urine leakage, eye symptoms like double vision uncontrollable rapid eye movements, facial pain, painful muscle spasms, tingling, burning in arms or legs, depression, dizziness, hearing loss, fatigue etc. You have many of these symptoms. The treatment is essentially limited to symptomatic therapy so the course of action would not change much whether MS has been diagnosed or not.
765802 tn?1263304451 I'm not sure what it is? I also at the same time having the feeling of burning spots in these areas, and now in one eye. This burning feeling is limited to feeling like a poke size area. Also it has moved to the right side above the temple as well now? It reminds me like being hit in the head with something and the raising N lowering feeling like what is left after being hit? So that is all I knowl So now it is still happening maybe not that regularly. But did move into my eye area too.
Avatar f tn These symptoms may begin — often not causing much notice — in your fingers and toes. In some people, symptoms begin in the arms or even the face. As the disorder progresses, muscle weakness can evolve into paralysis.
378112 tn?1199897215 My words become stuttered and/or slurred as if I'm in the middle of a stroke! No dr believed me this was going on until he seen it with his eyes (my neurologist, mind you) So again, he has no clue what's going on and has just given me more pain pills to ease my troubles!!!!! So here I am with more headaches, more eye pain (which are now getting to the point of me waking up with pink rings around my iris and bloodshot eyes???
Avatar n tn happened and my body gave way and i feel onto the floor at her feet, at this stage i couldnt move my left leg arm and my face had dropped (this was what was witnessed by all there) they rushed me to hospital due to everyone thinking it was a stroke, i ended up sitting in the waiting room cause it was busy and then after about three hours it came right and i went home feeling shaken and weak...
Avatar m tn My question is, does that sound like a mini-stroke to you? If so, what is the possibility of a major stroke. Thank You.

Avatar f tn Both of my parents have suffered mild strokes (in both cases effecting one eye) They both drink straight vodka daily. Probably a 16 oz glass filed with ice then vodka poured in.
Avatar f tn My symptoms - strange flashes when I move my eyes jaw pain neck pain shoulder pain backpain dizzyness scalp pain feel like I cant swallow sometimes sometimes I feel heavy or numb in places, e.g cheek sometimes feel like I cant talk property headache eye pain Please help, does anyone else have this?????? 500374 tn?1210075013 I had what is believed a TIA in 2004 that left me with 80% short term memory loss and the other symptoms you mentioned. A couple of eye clots in 2005-6 also. The memory loss has improved some since 2004 with the Aricept medication and cognitive therapy, I can now add and do some subtraction. However, the multi-tasking has been getting worse with time. I have been having more mini-strokes lately so that may account for the symptoms getting worse and more loss of eyesight.
Avatar n tn I also had a cold feeling in my left hand down to my fingertips. I awoke in the morning with a pain in the left side of my neck which subsided within 5 minutes or so. The numbness in my left arm did not go away however. So I went to the ER that evening. There they did a CT scan of my head and did not find anything abnormal. The ER doctor chalked it up to bad side effects from the Maxalt which should go away on their own.
Avatar n tn I went to the PCP and Neurologist two days later and had an MRI 5 days later and they saw a stroke in the cerebellum and signs of a mini stroke that they classified as 'old'. I fortunately did not have ongoing loss of speech, or weakness in limbs etc...but have suffered from weird dizziness and electric shock feelings in my head. They seem to get better - but then get wrose again....Dr's are saying it is maybe anxiety --but is not. I have had anxiety before and these are different.
Avatar m tn I am still experiencing pain in my neck, I have a stiff neck and I am also experiencing shocks in the back of my head and eye in the tempral area. Vision is still cloudy. This past week I have expierenced a TIA. Did not know it was happening, just got out of the hospital on Monday. Please let me know I am concerned.
Avatar f tn have just come out of hospital.4 weeks ago due to losing sight in one eye pain in right eye blurred vision in both eyes wavy lines in both eyes no feeling on the right side of face leg arm. slurred speech failed my vision test in hospital because could not see doctors fingers only wavy lines and blurred vision.had first t.i.a 3 years ago. this is the second one 4 weeks ago. doctors told me annother t.i a. then changed there minds after having mri scan as it dident show up on mri scan.
Avatar n tn A small part was left and (has not grown) b/c it was on a major artery in the brain. Over xmas he went blind in his left eye and the eye doctor said he may have had a mini stroke. He thought it was due to the tumor that was remaining. He seen his neurologist and he said it wasnt the cause. They ran all kinds of test from blood work, mri, cat scan and the artery check. And we aare waiting for the artery check results. The doctors could not find anything on the ct and mri.
Avatar f tn While it IS possible that you have been experiencing mini-strokes, I would hesitate to agree with a normal stroke. I agree with your doctor that you are showing symptoms of anxiety due to stress. Stress and anxiety can both cause stroke and heart attack like symptoms. From the chest pain you described, I would say it's likely anxiety related. I'm not saying that you aren't having mini-strokes...but you are not having major strokes.
Avatar m tn There are certain causes of mini stroke, which I hope have been excluded. These are seizures, migraines, mini stroke affecting memory areas etc. Is he a hypertensive and how is his blood glucose control? A poor glycemic control can predispose to hyperglycemia and ketones in urine, increasing risk of stroke. He may need medicines to dissolve any clot if was detected on CT head.
Avatar n tn or due to other eye problems I had prior to MRI? I still have stroke in my right face following the MRI test, and what could be done now? I appreciate your kind opinion on this matter please.
Avatar n tn I have basically recovered pretty well. In the past week and a half I have three times had kaleidascope-like flashing lights in my eyes in a crescent moom shape. Should I be worried about another sroke? I would have gone to a doctor already but I have no insurance anymore so have put it off.
Avatar n tn I also had headaches for 4 months and in January of this year 2012 I had a mini stroke and now I have some memory loss and I still get dizzy, headaches, and I am always tired. My eye sight also goes blurry once in a while. I have to go to neurologist on the 14th of this month (February). I hate this I wish it would get better. How are you feeling now.
Avatar f tn I had an ischematic stroke in August 2006, when aged 51, and since then have suffered numerous neurological 'episodes' which were initially diagnosed by the local hospital as TIA's (mini-strokes) but which I'm now informed are a rare kind of migraine. I don't get the blinding headaches that I'd normally expect with a migraine, but I do get the same sorts of symptoms you'd expect with a stroke - head floppiness, slurred speech, inability to flex the fingers of my left hand etc.
