Common Questions and Answers about Mini stroke headache

stroke

Avatar f tn The numbness and tingling, troubled speech have disappeared but his headache has not. Could this be the signs of a mini stroke? Please help! No, my nephew did not go to the hospital which I freaked out about because I just got off the phone with my mother about the whole situation. People failed to inform me til' now. Had I known, I would have insisted he went to the ER.
Avatar f tn I honestly didn't think a thing about it until I told my husband last night and he said it might have been a mini stroke. My mother (deceased) had experienced these in the past and she had severe heart problems that the doctors said may have caused the strokes. I looked up the symptoms, but I only really had numbness in my face and a slight pain over my eye. Could this have been a mini stroke? Should I see a doctor now even though I have no symptoms? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Is it possible that without me realizing it that I may have had a mini stroke and not know it or am I over reacting? Since then my blood pressure has been 150/90.
1474856 tn?1288292649 Transient Ischemic Attack Symptoms can include: numbness or weakness in the face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body; confusion or difficulty in talking or understanding speech; trouble seeing in one or both eyes; and difficulty with walking, dizziness, or loss of balance and coordination. I have this all the time, but the Dr's just keep saying it is just migraine.

Avatar n tn The doctors cannot tell us what happened to cause this, they simply do not know. They also told us it appears that she had a stroke prior to this stroke, and she never knew about it. They thought that it was possible that she had a brain infection that caused this. We are up in the air and are still trying to cope with this. They also said it appears that she had several mini-strokes. She is now coherent, has her memory, no facial drooping and is raring to go.
Avatar f tn Lastly, transient one-sided body numbness (lasting for example for minutes up to 30 minutes then resolving) could be due to a migraine (the aura of migraine, in which case following the numbness, a headache occurs) or seizures (which would be important to evaluate given the prior stroke history). These are a few causes of one-sided numbness (excluding focal hand numbness, which could be something called carpal tunnel syndrome, for example).
Avatar n tn Lately, I have had headaches that have lasted for approximately 30 minutes. Everytime I have a headache, I think I am going to have another stroke. How do I get around this, or am I always gonna think this is the big one? Or, is there anything that I can do but pray that its not the big one?? Please help..
Avatar n tn I also had headaches for 4 months and in January of this year 2012 I had a mini stroke and now I have some memory loss and I still get dizzy, headaches, and I am always tired. My eye sight also goes blurry once in a while. I have to go to neurologist on the 14th of this month (February). I hate this I wish it would get better. How are you feeling now.
Avatar n tn A co-worker and my husband thought I may have had a mini stroke. But had no slur words or bad balance. Can you let me know what this can be?

Avatar f tn Three months ago, I believe my adult daughter had a mini stroke at Spin Class (horrible headache, coordination problems, she saw things melting, had trouble understanding simple questions and trouble with conveying her thoughts). She went to urgent care next to the gym and waited 45 minutes to be seen. She drank Gatorade while she waited. They told her they didn’t know what was wrong. They diagnosed it as syncope. She couldn’t drive.
Avatar m tn My question is, does that sound like a mini-stroke to you? If so, what is the possibility of a major stroke. Thank You.
Avatar f tn I told him I could be his friend, but he said he has feelings for me and liked me too much to be just friends, and that i'd distract his recovery. Anyway I just wanted to know if a mini stroke or stroke could cause hydrocephalus? He had been saying he felt dizzy, was vomiting, lost weight, headaches, felt as though he was on a boat and had sea sickness, no energy, sleeping a lot, couldn't concentrate, his vision was odd and I'm sure theres other things he told me.
Avatar n tn I read a article about migraines are related to strokes or that they do damage to the brain as would a stroke. Could you clear this up for me? It also stated that for people who get aura's on the onset of a migraine that is is actually a sign that the brain isn't getting enough oxygen. Is this just a theory? What are the signifigance of this info to people with migraines?
Avatar f tn I would love to know what this is and what causes it. I've heard this could be TIA's, Absence Seizuzres or Mini Stroke. Has anyone have a similar experience? Thank You! This discussion is related to short memory loss seizures.
Avatar f tn Are you taking any meds for your anxiety? Anxiety can cause many strange symptoms. I've had many that you mentioned and more. With anxiety it's very common to have muscle pain all over your body. The symptoms your describing does sound like anxiety but to ease your mind you may want to see your Dr. Take care.

Avatar n tn My 53 year old husband is having 2-3 weekly TIAs or mini-strokes -- these always affect the right side of his body with facial numbness, eyelid drooping, difficulty swallowing and trouble walking straight - most times, but not always, also with an instant headache and perfuse sweating.
Avatar f tn I have been having very strange sympotms all day and not sure if I am having a mini stroke or brain tumor or maybe an anurisem when i go to bed tonight, but I am very scared, but everyone is telling me it's anxiety. My question is how can you tell if what you have is anxeity or not, how do you know if you go to the dr's and they think its anxiety that they are right? I have had nubness in my left arm all day, as well as in my face.
Avatar n tn I had a hemorragic stroke (medulla) in 2001. I have basically recovered pretty well. In the past week and a half I have three times had kaleidascope-like flashing lights in my eyes in a crescent moom shape. Should I be worried about another sroke? I would have gone to a doctor already but I have no insurance anymore so have put it off.
