Avatar n tn My doc said I had had a mini stroke!
Avatar m tn I was told it was a possible mini stroke. Then an MRI was done and was told I have multiple infarctions on the brain moreso on the right than the left. It states that I have chronic microvascular disease of the brain and am to see a neurologist this week to determin if it actually was a mini stroke. I am also told I have post concussive syndrome, causing my dizziness and fatigue. Can the impact of the accident cause a mini stroke if I have microvascular disease?
Avatar n tn ve had same problem for 16 yrs this week I had and echo with bubble done on my heart they found a hole in my heart which is normal in 25 percent of population but for me the pfo or hole in my heart causes tia or mini stroke there is a procedure that can fix hole but not approved by fda so not approved
Avatar f tn I know something was happening but just not sure what. Some people said it could be a mini stroke. Has anyone dealt with this before?

Avatar n tn "Do I have to have High blood pressure in order to have a stroke? I have diabetes."............No per se, however, having Diabetes puts you at a higher risk for vascular problems/issues. Are you should you don't have high blood pressure? Are your blood sugars well controlled? You should definitely consult a Neurologist for follow-up.
Avatar n tn I also had headaches for 4 months and in January of this year 2012 I had a mini stroke and now I have some memory loss and I still get dizzy, headaches, and I am always tired. My eye sight also goes blurry once in a while. I have to go to neurologist on the 14th of this month (February). I hate this I wish it would get better. How are you feeling now.
Avatar m tn Could he have had a mini-stroke? He never said it was just one side. He said it was his whole body. He also said it lasted like seconds or minutes not long. He didn't slur his speech or have severe headache before hand. But his brain is not right he says. I believe him when he said his head is off and not clear. I don't know if anyone else has had mild symptoms with a TIA and not the typical symptoms (one sided, blurred vision or speech etc). Any thoughts??
Avatar m tn but my mother had something like this but much worse. She had a stroke. Their is such a thing as a mini stroke. That could have been what it was. Just an opinion....I am not a doctor but it sounds like something that you need to seek medical attention to asap. Stroke symptoms include going numb on one side or the other, dizzyness, off balance, headache.
Avatar f tn drooping of one side of face) is very suggestive of a mini stroke and definitely a MRI of the brain should be done ASAP. Please consult a neurologist else go to ER for MRI. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar f tn Although a stroke can manifest as a transient visual disturbance, that is relatively unusual. But something is going on, and you best have it checked out. Anything having to do with vision is VERY important. You cannot be turned down for medical assistance in the event of possible blindness because of financial reasons. If it happens? Good! Take them to court! (Just make sure that you sue for the cost of a chauffer).
Avatar f tn are ct scans any use at all and if it was mini stroke would it not have shown something.
Avatar m tn I am 78 and had a mini stroke 11 Jun 2014. I was placed in the hospital for overnight observation and was released the following day to my family doctor. I have high blood pressure so he placed me on Exforge 10-325-25mg HCT and also Clopidogrel 75mg In the hospital I had a MRA, MRI, CATSCAN, Chest Xray and several blood tests. I lost peripheral vision in the left eye. When I left the hospital I had this slight lump across from my left ear about 1 inch long pointing to the top of my head.
Avatar f tn m making a come back, yes there have been set backs, i returned last jan,09 for bone flap surgery which made a huge improvement in my quality of life, but recently i have has a mini stroke/ seizure which left me angry at the world, my recovery was coming along so well , i was even walking 50ft with no cane and now i'm having to get back to where i was, is this depressing yes, but it's a fact and there is no quick fix, and there are gonna be set backs but given his age and hopefully willp
Avatar f tn Hi, this could be mini stroke or raised intracranial pressure; both have similar kind of presentation. What is your age and are you hypertensive or diabetic? Please consult doctor and get MRI done and do check your blood pressure. For more information regarding TIA or mini stroke visit http://en.wikipedia.
Avatar n tn I'm glad your husband's BP is coming down. I am not a doctor, so I have no idea what could have happened. Maybe a mini-stroke? I just don't know, sorry. Was he on BP meds BEFORE this happened? What is he taking now? I'll keep him in my prayers...
Avatar f tn My name is Ellie and im 16 years old. I had a mini stroke on the left side of my brain about 2 months ago. I didnt have any medical problems, no blood clots, high blood pressure, i dont take birth control (any of the main factors) but i am overweight. Doctors have no idea what could of caused it except for stress and thats the hardest part dealing with it because i dont know how too prevent it or how it happened. I couldnt talk (felt like i had a thick tounge) and had numbness in my right arm.
667937 tn?1227758698 this morning i feel okay other than a headache and i got up early this morning because i went to bed early last night because i had a feeling as if i were drunk but had not been drinking anything. felt a bit disoriented. I still have a little of the pulling sensation on the side of my mouth and chin but not as bad as last night. Am i to young for a stroke? or could this have been a very minor one?
Avatar f tn A friend of mine just had an endoscopic cervical discectomy and as a result suffered a vertebral artery occlusion. Less than 24 hours after being released from the hospital he experienced dizziness, weakness in his right side and numbness in his face. He returned to the ER where they admitted him and performed an MRI that showed the occlusion. Basically, he had a mini stroke or tia but Dr's said no damage to the cerebellum. He was released and ordered to take aspirin.
Avatar n tn Either it was a case of transient ischemic attack or a bad case of panic attack. TIA or transient ischemic attack is a mini stroke that happens when the blood supply to brain is temporarily cut off. The episodes last for a maximum of 24 hours and then resolve or a new symptom starts.
Avatar f tn My Mother was recently diagnosed as probably having had a mini stroke or something similar. What would something similar be? Also, could a situation that caused a person to panic cause a stroke?
Avatar f tn s talk about the differences between a TIA and a Stroke. A TIA or transient ischemic attack is also known as a mini stroke.
210400 tn?1325380570 Thank you ladies. I actually found out that my cervix is starting to dialate (barely); also that I have Bacterial Vaginosis...chalk another thing up I guess lol. The doctor gave me a prescription for vicodin to try to get rid of the headache but she also wants an MRI done this week to make sure that I didn't have a mini stroke or a blood clot. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all is well.
