Avatar n tn I'm glad your husband's BP is coming down. I am not a doctor, so I have no idea what could have happened. Maybe a mini-stroke? I just don't know, sorry. Was he on BP meds BEFORE this happened? What is he taking now? I'll keep him in my prayers...

Avatar m tn I am also told I have post concussive syndrome, causing my dizziness and fatigue. Can the impact of the accident cause a mini stroke if I have microvascular disease? I am scared that I may have a full blown stroke in the future, too. What can I do to prevent one? My memory now stinks worse than it already has and I'm not that old (late 40's).
Avatar f tn Hi, How are you? Transients ischemic attack (TIA), according to the American Heart Association, is a "warning stroke" or "mini-stroke" that produces stroke-like symptoms but with no lasting damage or injury to the brain. TIAs are important in predicting if a stroke will occur rather than when one will happen. In about half the cases, the stroke occurs within one year of the TIA.
Avatar f tn Thank you for responding to my question. I talked with another doctor on Justanswer and apparently my stroke was a "mini stroke" or TIA. It wasn't as deep in the brain as yours was so it didn't cause any problems. They still didnn't say why I have the dizziness though. So I guess I'll just have to learn to live with it.. Thanks for the tip about the stomach muscles --I;ll be trying it. Hope things have gotten better for you .
Avatar f tn Personally I would have though dizziness/nausea could be a TIA (mini stroke). It is unlikely that an MI would stop after 2 hours. I would explain your symptoms to a Doctor and have a CT scan of your head just to be on the safe side, especially as it runs in the family.
Avatar f tn spinal tap, myelogram, ct scan, mini stroke TIA

Avatar f tn Hello, Plavix is Clopidrogel which can cause side effects like nausea, epistaxis, diarrhea, stomach pain, headaches fatigue and dizziness. Headaches after a mini stroke could occur due to several reasons. When there is a stretching of healthy arteries to supply the ischemic part, stretching of brain covering or a small tear in an artery. An imaging of the brain and blood vessels may help.

Avatar n tn My husband had an Acute CVA August 2002 then became addicted to percocet. Has been in rehab and I think drug free for approx. 2 weeks. Was put on Elavil to help sleep insomnia at that time. Quit taking it and this morning says he doesn't feel right. Thinks he might have had a mini stroke. Right arm doesn't feel right and says speech is different. How do I know if this is Elavil related? Should I call doctor? Will a C-Scan tell me if a mini stroke has occurred?
Avatar n tn t had a response on my first question concerning symptoms of a possible mini stroke or withdrawal symptoms from precocet or elavil. Should I take my husband to doctor - his office does not open until 9:00 am my time.
Avatar f tn Is it possible that without me realizing it that I may have had a mini stroke and not know it or am I over reacting? Since then my blood pressure has been 150/90.
