I'm glad your husband's BP is coming down. I am not a doctor, so I have no idea what could have happened. Maybe a mini-stroke? I just don't know, sorry. Was he on BP meds BEFORE this happened? What is he taking now? I'll keep him in my prayers...

Thank you for responding to my question. I talked with another doctor on Justanswer and apparently my stroke was a "mini stroke" or TIA. It wasn't as deep in the brain as yours was so it didn't cause any problems. They still didnn't say why I have the dizziness though. So I guess I'll just have to learn to live with it.. Thanks for the tip about the stomach muscles --I;ll be trying it. Hope things have gotten better for you .

I am also told I have post concussive syndrome, causing my dizziness and fatigue. Can the impact of the accident cause a mini stroke if I have microvascular disease? I am scared that I may have a full blown stroke in the future, too. What can I do to prevent one? My memory now stinks worse than it already has and I'm not that old (late 40's).

Personally I would have though dizziness/nausea could be a TIA (mini stroke). It is unlikely that an MI would stop after 2 hours. I would explain your symptoms to a Doctor and have a CT scan of your head just to be on the safe side, especially as it runs in the family.

Anything having to do with vision is VERY important. You cannot be turned down for medical assistance in the event of possible blindness because of financial reasons. If it happens? Good! Take them to court! (Just make sure that you sue for the cost of a chauffer).

are ct scans any use at all and if it was mini stroke would it not have shown something.

I am 78 and had a mini stroke 11 Jun 2014. I was placed in the hospital for overnight observation and was released the following day to my family doctor. I have high blood pressure so he placed me on Exforge 10-325-25mg HCT and also Clopidogrel 75mg In the hospital I had a MRA, MRI, CATSCAN, Chest Xray and several blood tests. I lost peripheral vision in the left eye. When I left the hospital I had this slight lump across from my left ear about 1 inch long pointing to the top of my head.

If it was a TIA, it would be a mini-stroke which is often a warning sign that you may be headed for a larger stroke. Only your doctor could check for that. I'm not sure which tests they would do. I know they can look into your eyes to check for pinpoint hemorrhages. Since you're on Warfarin, do you have your blood checked regularly (your INR)? That should be monitored too so your blood is the right. . . . consistency I guess you'd call it.

A friend of mine just had an endoscopic cervical discectomy and as a result suffered a vertebral artery occlusion. Less than 24 hours after being released from the hospital he experienced dizziness, weakness in his right side and numbness in his face. He returned to the ER where they admitted him and performed an MRI that showed the occlusion. Basically, he had a mini stroke or tia but Dr's said no damage to the cerebellum. He was released and ordered to take aspirin.

After an MRI several mini stroke scars were also discovered. Stents is a much more simple procedure than 4 bypass repairs. So ask your Doctor if he does not give you a good answer fire him and find a good one. It is your life.
