I feel nauseous after taking milk thistle.

Avatar f tn We do have the right to express our opinions, with a few exceptions, health matters being one of them, that arena needs peer reviewed science. Did I miss something regarding milk thistle? The main point seems to be milk thistle "walls" off the live preventing it from doing its job.
Avatar f tn Marcia's got it all down. I believe that Maximum Milk Thistle has helped a lot to keep my enzyme levels down. I'm not sure what the relationship to enzyme levels and liver damage is but it seems like if they're down it would mean less damage. The harder your liver has to work to detoxify the less energy it has to heal itself by making new and healthy cells. Cooking oils is a big one I believe as Marcia said. Grapeseed may be o.k.

Examples, milk thistle and Gingko Bilboa were 2 things I was asked to stop taking, because they had the potential to interfere with the medications. However, everything else, my doctor did approve and told me was ok. I asked him for a list of what was not approved, as the drug company provided this to him, but they keep forgetting to give it to me.

I dont know all of the details regarding how it supports the liver but one way is that it alters the outer membrane of the liver making toxins less able to penetrate.
