milk

Avatar m tn t suitable for all based on digestive issues. With whey protein, there can be an increased incidence of diarrhea. As ulcerative colitis also has issues with diarrhea, you can probably see how that would possibly impact you negatively. Has it been suggested that you limit dairy products because of your GI diagnosis? That's a pretty common recommendation. Here's some dietary information regarding ulcerative colitis to stay healthy. https://www.webmd.
Avatar m tn Is there evidence that milk ( lactose ) in ice cream can hurt the patient with various types of colitis? Is there truly an allergic type of colitis from milk in adults?
Avatar f tn Blood- protein levels off, low iron and b12, celiac test just a little off (but not true indicator that I have the disease, I am told). Colonscopy / endoscopy- biospy for celiac (negative). Found mast cells- h2 allergy cells, which dr said was 'strange'. Said I must just have ibs, and told me to take pepcid for mast cells, but didn't address why I have them. 2nd opinnion- gastroenterolgist said he would have said celiac, but saw biopsy was negative.
Avatar f tn Red meats and milk. They're healthy but have that heavy nutrients so to speak.

1369218 tn?1282423884 I just recently had a hida scan done on the gall bladder and it came back at 20% usage and she said normal is 35%. The GI wants me to get another colonoscopy, did one a year ago, to rule out colitis. So, should I ask to have the gall bladder removed, or do another colonoscopy??? Has anyone had these issues????
Avatar m tn As Ive started thinking more and more, when I was working out I remember I couldnt find a protein powder that sat well with me. I kept switching. Milk, and dairy of such doesnt give me diarrhea or pain, like common lactose tolerance symptoms. Milk just alters my stools, turning them light colored after a few days of drinking it. So does sour cream and ice cream. I dont have this problem with cheese, and the lactose tolerance pills did not make a difference in this, because I tried them.

Avatar m tn Hi, I have chronic colitis, but my bowel is perfect because I did a colonoscopy in january and I know about colitis because of the biopsy. I have diarrhea almost 1 year, and never stop. I get worst now, because I have so much pain and I can not sleep, my gut contracts all the time... I'm feel weak and also have nausea. I saw blood only tree times. I feel shortness of breath and fainting also. I already take a lot of remedy and it didn't work.
Avatar f tn I tried googling this earlier in my pregnancy and didn't like what I found... that none are really "good" for me or baby right now. I went with veggie & fruit smoothies and used soy milk as it had higher protein content (vs other but mills). But I want to know if anyone else has found out anything else!
Avatar m tn Hello, i have ulcerative colitis and the test of total protein was albumin 4.4g/dL and globulin 3.8g/dL could the UC be the source of elevated globulin?
10948614 tn?1414173719 I have collageous colitis and, like all colitis, it is autoimmune in nature. I would write down other symptoms such as do you have joint pain, foggy brain moments, skin rashes or psoriasis? Anything! If you do end up with these, go see a rheumatologist. They will perform more labs to find out if there is another autoimmune disease you aren't diagnosed with because when you have one, you have others. Trust me.
Avatar n tn He had his first attack of colitis and is scheduled for a colonoscopy. He is constitpated and I read there is a feeling that with colitis they feel the bowel is not completely empty. I gave him prune juice 2 nights in a row, and nothing. Is it safe to give him milk of Magnesia? He is 75 and has had rheumatoid arthritis since 28. He has enmphasema from taking methrotrexate all these years but it does not effect his breathing.
Avatar n tn i am suffering from UlceraTIVE COLITIS FROM LAST SIX MONTHS CAN YOU PLEASE TELL CAN IT BE CURED FULLY.
Avatar f tn The trick is to eat healthy, small portions of food at a time, drink plenty of fluids (not alcohol/wine/beer), and avoid gas causing food items such as milk and milk products, beans, spicy food, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, raw fruit juices and fruits. Take iron/vitamin/mineral supplements. Keep a food diary to note the food items which make you feel good, and those which worsen your symptoms. Needless to say, stick to the former list. Eat more fibers.
Avatar f tn You can also use flavored Greek yogurts, but watch the calorie count as some have a lot more sugar than the plain yogurt, and by the time you add milk and the protein powder you might have more calories than you bargained for. I have more recipes, if you're interested, but they aren't much different from these. Your imagination and tastebuds are the only limits to what you can put into a smoothie.
532657 tn?1213131909 Preworkout Shake Start with 1 1/2 scoops of protein powder (about 30 grams) and 12 ounces of nonfat milk instead of water. This yields roughly 240 calories, 40 grams of protein, 16 grams of carbs, and 3 grams of fat. Toss in some fruit for flavor, or a tablespoon of peanut butter or almond butter for a creamier shake. These will boost calories, carbs, and fat, but they're good for your overall diet Buzz the concoction in a blender. Add ice if you like your shakes thicker.
Avatar f tn The only abnormality was microscopic colitis on one of the colonoscopy biopsies. All other tests and antibodies were negative, SED rate was normal, liver and kidney chemistries normal, C-reactive protein normal, no anemia, CBC normal, etc. Doc wants me to start Asacol but the side effects seem worse than my mild diarrhea. Question is, should I take the anti-inflammatory to try and stop the autoimmune process?
Avatar f tn Well - you have got to have a liquid - so the options are water, milk, or soy/almond/rice/coconut milk. Then you have to have some source of protein. Other than protein powder, you are pretty limited. You don't want to use raw egg. You could use nuts or peanut butter. Other sources of protein such as cooked meat or fish wouldn't be particularly appetizing in a smoothie.
Avatar f tn You can get protein fr a lot of different sources than just a protein shake. Beans, Greek yogurt, cheese, almond milk, etc. be careful w too many protein shakes bcuz of added unnecessary calories & too many protein shakes/bars can make you constipated.
