Common Questions and Answers about Milk protein breastfeeding

milk

Avatar n tn Diarrhea is a sign of intolerance. He may have trouble digesting cow's milk protein. You might have to take him to the Dr for formula recommendations. I'd either be soy or a formula that has partially digested milk proteins already. If you can start breastfeeding again i say go for it. Less of a hassle.
Avatar f tn From what I've researched, it's not advised to go lower than 1500 a day for breastfeeding moms as it may lower your milk supply if you go even lower. But I think it still depends on the person. There's also a research about great amounts of toxins from stored fats being released into breastmilk if you lose too quickly. However, to be on the safe side, you could try starting on 1500 a day. Your BMR may be a lot higher than that. Breastfeeding alone burns 200-500 calories.
Avatar f tn Already moms how do you know if your baby is getting enough milk I want to try it but.... a family member of mine tried and failed ...
Avatar f tn Certain diets, like those that increase protein and limit carbohydrates, can be harmful because of contaminants that may enter your milk supply due to your changing metabolism. Always aim for a safe weight loss of about one pound per week, incorporating both nutrition and exercise into your program. Check with your doctor first!!
Avatar n tn Highly insulinogenic foods are simple carbs (the white stuff, like flour, sugar, rice, pasta, crackers, potatoes, etc) as well as low fat protein. Best meal option for you is VEGETABLES + PROTEIN (meat/fish/eggs) + FAT. Please make sure your fat is from natural sources, and not fake stuff like margarine. Do not skip the fat, or else it will cause insulin spikes, which will make you crave snacking all day on chocolate and junky stuff.
Avatar f tn My milk comes in a glass jar. I will return to raw after done breastfeeding baby. Not a say before :) research it online and you'll see the research is clear....
Avatar f tn How can I safely lose weight while breastfeeding, my doc. Has me logging my daily foods I just need help with a healthy diet menu? & also is the lemonade, maple syrup, and Cheyenne pepper diet safe, if done once or twice daily just curious.
Avatar n tn Start with ¾ breast milk and ¼ Pedisure or Milk, go to half and half, then ¼ breast milk and ¾ Pedisure or Milk, and finally to all Pedisure or Milk. You can do each mix every 3-4 days as long as she is accepting the mixture. She will get used to the Pedisure or Milk taste gradually. Suggest trying other dairy sources, such as yogurt and cheese, too once she accepts milk and or Pediasure. Hoped this helped you.
Avatar f tn Your baby potentially being allergic to the protein in cows milk has nothing to do with breastfeeding milk. They are VERY different.
Avatar f tn I'm 31 weeks. And I've been told I should start producing milk but I haven't seen any yet...is this normal ?
2061712 tn?1355244263 As for your formula question, I was unable to breastfeed my daughter, and we switched formula four times before she was weaned from her bottle. we switched because she had a milk protein intollerance and we tried soy. The soy constipated her and turned her stool black. We than switched to Nutramigen and then Alimentum for babies with milk protein intollerance. We had stocked up on the first formula and ended up having to give it to my cousin for her little boy.
Avatar f tn Due to painful engorgement and swelling I have decided to start pumping milk For bottle feeding. Before I was doing formula. 1486289 tn?1315842255 Sometime between the second and fifth day after your baby is born, your milk will change from colostrum to transitional milk, which is thinner and more plentiful. This milk also contains important antibodies, which will continue to protect your baby for as long as he nurses. After about the tenth to fourteenth day, the colostrum is gone, but the mature milk will continue to produce antibodies, just not as concentrated as the colostrum.
Avatar f tn I had a csection because of placenta previa and it was before I went into labor also. No latch problems, only supply problems. My doctor prescribed fenugreek (which you can buy pretty much anywhere, but prescriptions can be cheaper), I ate a ton of oatmeal, drank mother's milk tea and I still had trouble breastfeeding.
Avatar f tn m not sure if this works 100% but what I have done in the past for my boys were to take a nap during the day at least three hours different times drink up to four glasses of milk cows milk for you,,and eat lots of fruits and meats for protein!!
Avatar f tn m not going to I tried to pump for my first daughter and she ended up to have a protein allergies so she needed special formula and I never got enough milk to fill her up! So it was ok for me this time I'm starting off formula and not looking back I don't want to be the only one who can feed her and have to be the one to wake up and my hubby and I had a agreement I would feed her if he got the bottle so we're sticking to that again!
Avatar f tn Red meats and milk. They're healthy but have that heavy nutrients so to speak.
Avatar f tn ) The first weeks I had sore nipples/scabs problems that made breastfeeding complicated. Mothers milk plus capsules helped me and eating healthy and having lots of water. I tried not stressing about it either. Unless your body is just not able to, I think most breastfeeding problems are due to not really knowing how breastfeeding works, especially as a first time mom, that was the case for me.
Avatar n tn Hi! Well I'm still pregnant so I'm probably ring for doing it. But I just got a Brest pump and I wonted to try it out so I did, and I was also wondering what it taste like. So I tasted it, and it was nasty salty taste to it. And that's funny to me. For the simple fact I have not gained any lbs my hole in tier pregnancy. And i never have an appetite. and never won't to eat. Is it OK or bad?
Avatar f tn I would suggest looking up some recipes for lactation cookies and drinking lots and lots of water there is also something called mothers milk tea that might encourage your body to make more breast milk.
961466 tn?1247550382 corn, soy, cows milk, wheat, berries, nuts (especially peanuts), fish(especially shellfish) and tomatoes. Cows milk and nuts seem to present most severe and cows milk protein can take two weeks to leave your system. You can try eliminating all of these foods for 3 weeks and see what happens.
Avatar f tn After baby you can loose weight pretty easy. I've been back to prepregnacy weight w/in 4 months. I've nursed my last 2 babies, nursing helps burn calories. However, if nursing U don't want to diet. Don't take any diet pills. Plus when nursing you really do feel hungry. The best thing to do is eat healthy. Protein, veggies & fruit. Workout, but don't over do it. If U workout too much/hard it will effect Ur milk supply as well as dieting or eating less.
Avatar f tn I am 36 +4 days, and planning on breastfeeding. I really, really want to it is very important to me but im terrified i wont be able too. Ive heard stories of the baby not latching and no milk production, etc. Can most women breastfeed without complications? I seriously think about it everyday i will be heart broken if i can't.
Avatar n tn Your milk supply may have gotten too low because you aren't eating enough calories/day. The best things to eat are simply a well balanced diet that includes fresh vegetables, fruit, lean protein, eggs, dairy, nuts, seeds, and healthy fats. It's not good to leave out any food groups because you don't get the nutrients you and your baby need.
4165941 tn?1353988628 He is on similac alimentum because he has a milk protein allergy. Just be prepared that people can be quite rude. My fiance side of the family would say something rude about it for the longest time. Just do what you feel is best for you and your baby.
