907812 tn?1245739802 You gotta lose weight. Milk Thistle, Milk thistle, milk thistle! also aloe vera juice ... not much --4 oz a day to start. When they do the the big test at wk 4, you'll be happy to see your HepC cleared or almost cleared. Good luck and don't forget to pray to Our Lady!
Avatar f tn 00 a.m. After surgery when I woke, I could have anything I wanted...pop, water...whatever. Then at five they brought supper. I was kind of out of it and didnt eat much, but it was a hamburger, fries, a salad and jello. I didnt have a liquid diet at all. That's just my experience if it helps.
Avatar n tn I had my gallbladder removed ten days ago. Also had hernia repair at the same time. I was on an all liquid diet for the first 5 days. I have been on "regular food" for about 5 days now. I am very constipated. Having very small or no bowel movement. Strangely enough I have not had any pain or bloating. Could this be because I have not been eatting very much or is it a sign that something is wrong?
Avatar f tn So in essence it should be good for you, but I just wonder 3 weeks before surgery it might be worthy of a miss lol. DONT deny yourself fats ok, because we do need fats for a healthy diet, just be a bit wary of how you are eating food now. THESE ARE THE WORSE OFFENDERS AND AVOID.
526889 tn?1212540641 For your age you need 1500 calories daily to safely lose weight. I would recommend a Heart Healthy diet which is a moderate fat diet. Moderate fat diet means = use polyunsaturated (omega 3, corn oil, nuts, etc) fats and monounsaturated (olive oil, canola oil, peanut oil, etc) fats, no saturated fats (high fat snack foods, butter, fat spreads) and no trans fats.
Avatar f tn Try sticking with a low fat diet - you can google for general lists of low fat foods. Many people have problems processing fats the way they did before the surgery so it's often wise to presume you may have problems and then only slowly add back some fat and see what happens over time.
Avatar f tn s ok from 36 weeks on because some mothers are still breastfeeding their older children while pregnant and your colostrum is produced until your milk comes in AFTER birth. However some doctors say not to bc it could cause contractions, but I don't see the harm in it if ur leaking and 37 weeks. Anyone actually ever do this?
Avatar n tn I just found out that a co worker has colon cancer and will be having surgery soon. I would like to help her by sending some prepared dinners for her to just heat up. I was wondering what kind of diet she should be eating post op? Any ideas would be appreciated! Avatar n tn Nothing u can do before, but you just have to nurse, or pump a lot. Nurse on demand or if pumping pump every 2 hrs for 20 minutes. U have to create a demand for milk to produce milk. If u go too long between feeding or pumping your body thinks you don't need as much any more and stops producing. Once your supply is established u can pump every 3 or 4 hours, but it takes awhile. U have to mimic how often a baby would want to nurse. I pumped exclusively for 1 yr and 4 months.
Avatar f tn I am a new mom, I delivered my baby 4 months ago, I want to go on a diet but I am afraid thst will affect my baby because I am breast feeding her
Avatar m tn just checked what a ketogenic diet is, this type of diet is extremely unhealthy and damages livers of any person hbver or not The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet: high fat damages the liver adequate-protein is ok but from vegetable or little white meat, no red meat, no diaries low-carbohydrate leads nowhere, it is processed and refined carbohydrates to increase blood glucose which makes damage, so the problems is refined cereals not not carbohydrates the a
492936 tn?1244651570 t know the whole diet, but I did read that whole milk makes big fat juicy eggs, so for the past 2 months I have been drinking a glass of whole milk every day. I forgot how delish really cold whole milk is. I'm lucky b/c we have a small organic dairy nearby and I go and pickup a half gallon of it served in the old fashioned glass bottles. As far as all the other stuff goes, I have read a few books and they're all pretty similar.. low fat, whole grains, veggies and fruit...
Avatar m tn If changing your diet can help enough to avoid surgery then that would be great.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm a nutritionsit. Your doctor may tell you that gall stones have nothing to do with diet, because doctors don't know a thing about nutrition. But the way a person gets gall stones is by eating too much saturated fat. Saturated fat is in all animal products. Meat and dairy. Stick to fish. Start drinking soy milk instead of cow's milk. Go on a diet that consists of whole, natural, foods (see the book, What Would Jesus Eat by Dr. Don Colbert).
1704915 tn?1357601254 He did say that a majority of the people who have this surgery live happier lives. He did say it is a major surgery though and that with every major surgery there are complications etc. He suggests that I see the constipation specialist and if I am not happy have the surgery. I personal am ready to stop having a million tests and pills shoved in my body and just get rid of the problem. My husband strongly agrees with me as I have been going through this for almost 6 years now.
Avatar n tn Is there a diet that we can put him on, such as a liquid diet, or any other form of diet that will reduce the amount of feces that he creates, or even eliminates bowel movements altogether? We love our dog very much and want to make sure that he is happy and healthy. Please give us any advice that you can to help us.
Avatar n tn Now I can eat more fat but I gain wait a lot faster than before so you should probably stick to the low fat diet . I do get more heartburn after my surgery. I had gerd even before. I just make sure I take my PPI and tums especially when eating spicy foods. Last night I ate some cherry peppers and had to take an extra tums because of the heartburn.
140029 tn?1393298142 ve found a few cereals like puffed rice that seem to work but now taking rice milk/milk totally out of my diet for 3+weeks yeah it's gonna be hard. Plus I have been looking for a fiber supplement since i'm so IBS-C screwed up..so flaxseed is a great idea. I was doing eggs for breakfast but I'll avoid all possible food groups, maybe it's eggs *shrugs* but I missed something..hopefully i'll figure it out. Anyway thank you for that response!
748902 tn?1286034758 Now the formula to their success is available to all in this new diet. You may want to consult you doctor before embarking on this diet; otherwise, you may be seeing him afterwards. Good Luck!!! DAY ONE: Breakfast: One scrambled egg, one piece of toast with grape jelly. Eat 2 bites of egg, using your fingers; dump the rest on the floor. Take 1 bite of toast, and then smear the jelly over your face and clothes.
Avatar n tn A brat diet can help u with that though. After i did brat diet for 3 days i went back to drinking milk n felt great. Its strange its only in morning time for u though.
Avatar m tn Afterwards when I showed her the instructions about the fat intake rules I then asked about the diet requirements, I was told that nuts and whole milk were good things to eat. In my case the nuts I ate ripped me apart and caused lots of bleeding and with the whole milk that was my worst nightmare come true.
Avatar f tn Since I had my surgery 6 years ago I have been plagued by gas. I mentioned this to my surgeon 2 weeks post surgery and he said it wasn't connected. While my diet has become more vegetarian, it doesn't seem to matter what I eat. It's to the point where I cancel social engagements as it's just too hard to control. I've switched to soya instead of milk although do still sometimes have dairy in ice cream and yogurt. Any suggestions. I'm getting desperate.
Avatar f tn 5 mg pills of Cisapride and wet food. We are considering the surgery - but can anyone point me to a good source of information regarding it? I want to know more about the risks, complications, even a ballpark idea of the cost. Thank you, any info would be helpful. Also, does anyone know a good source to buy Cisapride? From my vet it is costing me about $38 for 30 pills. My cat takes 3 daily now, which is expensive.
