Avatar f tn My 15 year old daughter was first diagnosed with lactose intolerance about two years ago. She has not eaten any dairy products at all since. We went back to the doctor this past August(we see a gastroenterologist) and told her that my daughter was not able to tolerate any milk at all. She never eats dairy unless it is by accident because she can most certainly tell if she has had milk. One time I bought Wonder bread and my daughter ate some.
1900997 tn?1321659956 a couple of hours later, I get ferocious stomach pain and flatulence that smells of milk, quite often also diarrhoea. So I switched to lactose-free milk, but this has not brought about any improvement whatsoever. Skimmed milk is just as bad as full fat, so it can't be the fat content either.

Avatar f tn I've always been allergic (not lactose intolerance) to milk since I was born. Now at 5 weeks all I want to eat is milk and things made from milk. Does this mean my baby isn't allergic to milk? Or my allergy for milk going away since I'm pregnant? Or just being pregnant cravings? I don't want to drink milk thinking I'm not allergic and get sick. Help please?
Avatar f tn I just wanted to pop my head in and see if anyone else on here has tried a gluten-free or dairy-free diet and inquire as to whether it helped you with stomach cramps, lethargy after eating, itchiness related to food, keeping your skin healthy, and weight loss. Any words of wisdom are greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn A lot of gluten-sensitive people react to other grains (the non-gluten grains) and to casein (in other words, milk protein). You might try eliminating those things for a while, and see if it helps. In any case, if the rash is persisting for three months at a time, you are still getting exposed to something that is causing it. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I just now, on this site, realized this could be an actual allergy. I have many other food allergies, so it is reasonable. My present allergist will not deal with this--does not like to deal with food sensitivities. I go to him for air-born allergies (he is very good with these) and allergies to medicines, of which I have many. I feel I am eating an unhealthy diet because of this, especially when I lost citrus fruit.
Avatar n tn While visiting my 6 yr old grandaughter, I noticed that a couple of times when she was talking to me after she finished a sentance she repeated the last few words. This was done in more of a whisper than her normal speaking voice. Her father is bipolar but she shows none of the symptoms. Can this be a form of ADHD or OCD? I see no other signs of ADHD or OCD in her behavior.

Then, of course, there is the fermenting process necessary for making things like cheese that gets into the various mold varieties that make cheese bad for people with migraine issues.
Avatar n tn Like wheat or gluten contains riboflavin which is found in milk also.So people allergic to milk may show allergy towards wheat also. This phenomena is called cross reactivity. 6224500 tn?1388947668 Hello there, Just finished reading your post. You say you eat gluten/wheat/flour/ lactose containing food in the morning. What exact foods do you eat that contain these things ? 5069563 tn?1363270017 You don't have to drink milk when your pregnant, I know people who hate it and never drank it and they had perfectly healthy babies. They say to drink a lot of water it's way better then milk. I drank a lot of milk that's all I would drink and they told me that I should be dining water because the sugars in milk can somewhat dehydrate you if that's all you drink, same for sodas, so if your drinking water don't worry about drinking milk, you really don't have to.

My concern is can this type of allergy really cause this type of cycle? I would think he would have more symptoms closer together. We began NO milk protein diet& scheduled MRI next month. Will MRI only show brain or can they see intestinal problems as well?
